Yeah you can use this phone as a modem I have but it's so slow its really not even usable...It's about half the speed of dial up, if that...Instant Messaging on your PC using it as a modem gets delayed..the iDEN network is a very very slow network for data, thats why texting is a little slow on boost / nextel

This phone is probably the worst phone I've ever owned! The only thing that I do like and have tried with success is tethering it to my computer to use as a modem. Near my alarm clock the phone buzzes, call quality sux, supposed to get picture messages but I've only got maybe 2 so far out of a dozen I sent to it from my Verizon LG Dare, which ROCKS but just too god damn expensive Verizon is!

well first you have to press on the MENU. then you click on the one that says JAVA APPS.then you look for the one that says CALCULATOR SUITE. then you press on the one that says CALCULATOR.

AT FIRST ITS COMPLICATED BUT THEN YOU WILL KNOW HOW TO USE IT.

yes im starting to see the boost i776 is indeed a piece of crap this is my 3rd wk with it at first everything was fine 1st charge lasted a wk.then took me 6 hrs of messing with it to get it TO charge!last wk it would beep once every few hrs just sitting there.Now 2 days ago till now no calls 2 voice mails 1 thinks im mad the other thinks im dead! lol no reception in my house and when i turn it off it says no service and unlike most of you just go buy another phone im stuck with it for awhile

I've been able to download tons of things from this free site for years using any phone and for some reason when I try to download it shows me a preview of the image or file but no visible way to actually save it/download it. Looking at some of the comments, let me clear things up...the i776 is said to be a great phone. The texting on Boost has been a little slow, but they are working on this problem. I have the new i9 and at first texting was really slow and then it started getting better and now it's really fast. I think it was just a network problem, but now all is well and I recommend that you get the Motorola i9 with Boost Unlimited.

As for call waiting - it's only available to Unlimited customers

well don't buy this phone for its camera i saw a nice video explaining that. I have the i335 which is awesome it has the same features as this one, it has a nice styling, its really durable and comfortable. i really love the speaker which blends with the keypad and illuminates with red. unlike this flip-phone which looks weak, plain simple and lame but it has a camera with really low quality if that's what you are looking for.

i had problems recieving txt until i initialized the browser. then it started to recieve txts. for some reason boost/nextel sends the txt mssges through the web browser. you need to download each and every txt you recieve.  I see it this way. i purchased the phone for the PTT and voice. i gave this phone to my lil bro and i now use the blackberry curve 8350i. With that phone everything works BUT the txt. and seeing as the txt svc sux anyway. im not too unhappy.

I talked to a Nextel rep who has been working for Nextel for 14 years, and he told me that the text AND the PTT runs thru the mobile web.

And, right now, the bulk of the texting probs are due to the network. I was told that Boost is trying to make upgrades with Nextel to improve text service. Until they upgrade their systems, the browser restarts are temp fixes. I am getting delayed texts big time! Especially from T-Mobile customers.

I had major issues with the text side. The voice, dc, and web all worked great but I use a ton of texts and needed that to work. I have returned the phone and ported my number back to At&t. I think if they can fix the text problems, this would be an amazing service.

No, I spoke with a customer care rep tonight who told me unofficially they are working hard to get call waiting up by the end of the month but no promises. I personally hate call waiting but understand why many need it!
