its a squarewave keyboard, when the batteries are low it cant send enough power that the capacitor needs to keep the sustain up so the note sounds like its "dying"
its called a hing kon keyboard... it's a bender's haven... you can put in a knob to starve the voltage so that it can always do that, plus alter pitch and a much more...
i got mine for $4... for some reason i makes batteries explode... probably going to give it solar power like everything i do... i personally think there are a few others better than this one... (yamaha djx is still #1 in my book, got 2 under my benders belt)
i remember it specifically because of the 4 red buttons and the song, also because of the snare drum picture. thank you for bringing back that good memory for me :)
These small keyboards are often made as "private label" - if a toy chain wants to have a keyboard in their assortment they can get this keyboard made with their own name tag on it. In Denmark the biggest toy chain has their own brand of instruments called "Music Time". I think the smallest keyboard they sell is a Music Time version of yours.
really popular with the hipster crowd

hing hon ek-001 to be exact incase anyones looking for one, they sell anywhere between $1 to $50 depending on the sellers knowledge of how epic it is

can i buy this one off you? I am not worried about the batteries exploding, its probably a shorted out diode :)
