This is what I hate about YouTube, there are dozens of drawing tutorials each showing you a different way to draw and the comments have people saying how the method is wrong.

@CornishCreamtea07 the problem is that the method isn't wrong but the information he's giving about the method is. Yes measuring with heads is a nice tool to use. It is a good method. Telling people that the average human is 8.5 has been debunked time and time again, and studies almost unanimously come up being 7.5 being the average. The reason people get up in arms about these things is that these videos more often then not stunt the growth of starting artists.

The problem with this is the Average human is 7.5 heads, not 8.5.

the head is not ovoid. If it has 2 definite side planes around the temporals, a frontal facial plane, and a back plane, then it is a square form.

A study with a distribution char showed that 95% of the time, for a generic human, 7.5 heads is perfect in terms of height.
