You may say that but it has predicited most of what is happening today its really facinating it also predicts the rnid chip which the government want to chip everybody with eventually
The bible never made concrete predictions about dates. Those predicitions are human interpitations of information that was extrapolated out of context from the original intent of the bible. The original intent of the written bible was to give christianity and the roman empire a canon of laws that hold the catholic church and the roman empire as the center of the universe and their rule was given to them by God.
Aye, you are correct, there is no mention of dates, even for the pagan and catholic time of christmas. Christ was not born on Dec 25th, he was born in the fall time.
The catholics took that date from the pagans who worshiped another god during that time.
The catholics are far from Christ and the Messiah only gave one rule against her and about her, it is to get out of her, for she is the mother of harlots.
@SeanKey71 even kaku said that their is a higher being in another dimension if you ever read any of his book the reason you cant see and hear god is because because he may be in a higher dimension something had to create the particles and neutrons and atoms etc. for the big bang so instead of being ignorant do your homework
@SeanKey71 you had it right up to the whole christianity/roman thing. early christians (the original disciples) who wrote the bible were at war with the romans during the time the new testament was written. it wasnt adopted as the religion of the roman empire until the 300`s.
@SeanKey71 the Bible does not give the catholic church a right to rule, and those "extrapolations" are done very studiously by ppl who check things out.
@SeanKey71 yeah I'm sure idolatrous religions are all about writing books with text before time and speaking against some of their foundational superstition. Read the Bible before you sling mud. In fact don't sling mud at all since that is considered a fallacy. Also try reading about prophecy before you dis it. Just saying.
Thowing out the baby with the bath water are we. You may say the bible is crap but that is actually like saying a text book is crap. They are just books. The bible has some interesting parables about life in the middle east in the ancient times, but yet we say that it is a piece of crap and it should be thrown out. How narrow an idea. Are you into book burining of anything you think is a piece of crap?
@SeanKey71 Yeah but no one is going to come up to you with a copy of Green Eggs and Ham and tell you that Sam I Am is right and if you don't eat green eggs and ham you are doomed for all time unless you beg his forgiveness, and that researching and inventing a refrigerator to not let ham and eggs go green is a terrible unthinkable evil.
Bible has some good moral stories, and it has some tales that are no longer relevant today, like anything else just take from it what you can use.

@gurlndc19 actually lots of ppl believe it b/c well the Universe and life need a creator. Also, Jesus is the only one who offers hope of any kind. Magic (much like superstitious darwinism), mysteries, and karma do not. Calling something bullcrap is mud slinging.
@gurlndc19 so I guess the part in Isaiah 42:5 about the expanding universe is all made up. I guess Hubble is made up too. Btw, lots of scientists believe the Bible including several professors @ my school. Read a book.
I'm so glad that I'm working in the computer game's industry. I'm an artsist.I think that games will look super realistic before going onto VR. Can't wait!!!
I must say, I've always wanted to be the first guy to make VR games accessible in your average home. I'm a pc game nut, so running inside a VR game is probably the single most exciting event I'm waiting to happen in my life. But it's a very expensive project to dedicate your life to and tricky. Because the average tax payer should afford it, not just the rich. Watch, it'll happen.
Hell, yes. I simply cannot wait. I'll always be aware of what's real and what isn't, because to me reality is far more important than VR. VR will be more for weekend entertainment only.
Unfortunately there will be HUGE repercussions due to VR. Dealing with what's reality philosophy, to subjectivity and ojectivity with these same applications in both the different worlds provided (real and virtual worlds). Later one will simulate the other senses with electrical stimuli to make that VR world as real as the Real world. In the end, it'll be so confusing. But how cool would it be to catch that rocket ship to venus or whatever that you normaly could not. I for one simply can't wait!
There are endless possiblilities. It's interesting what he said about having bsiness meetings in a vitrtual room. I used to think about this since I was little. There will be as many problems as there will be solutions and pros as many as the cons. Humans will live in the real world and the virtual world. There will deffinitelly be a double life. Imagine being hooked up to a bed where your body is fed nutrients, but your mind is in this virtual world for whatever length.
He simply asserts that this isn't "simply escapism"...but how is it not exactly the definition of escapism? Second Life is nothing more than an extremely inefficient instant messaging system with an overly sophisticated interface. It's basically an MMORPG with out any fun.
He simply asserts that this isn't "simply escapism"...but how is it not exactly the definition of escapism? Second Life is nothing more than an extremely inefficient instant messaging system with an overly sophisticated interface. It's basically an MMORPG with out any fun.
I don't think so. We've had enough time and resources already to 'improve lfe for all human beings', and yet a great number of the world's population doesn't even have access to fresh water, not to mention proper food. There is a flaw in our very nature whereby a true equality among humans will never be accomplished. Technology will only widen the gap.
I hate to sound pessimistic, but it's written all over the history of mankind.
We would all be equal if our environments were equal. It is only natural that some have a better life than others. It has nothing to do with "human nature".
The best part of mankind should not be held back by the worst. I'm not saying we should leave those people to die, but we certainly shouldn't overdo with the charity.
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Do you mean that poverty and famine are a matter of chance? If so, you prove my point, since mankind can only speak of human rights and equal opportunities, but achieve very little of it- a moral contradiction. How can you even talk about the "worst part of mankind" holding back the "best"! I suppose the next step is, like the Rockerfellers would have it, to propose population reduction?
Just imagine you were part of the 'unlucky' 'worst'.
What i'm saying, is that there is no FLAW in human nature. When pepetruelo said "technology will only widen the gap", then i thought that technological progress should never be held back because of social issues..
You're all so stuck in this good/evil world mentality. Get over it. Humans are not evil. War is not something only humans could think of. The history of mankind may be horrific, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Batukhan, I pretty much agree with Domzdream's comment. I would add that it has become quite evident that some rulers are working for anything but the interest of humanity. Do you believe Iraq, for instance, is anywhere closer to becoming a "free, democratic country"? Does anyone still believe this lie?
So I might be a bit too cautious, but I have every reason to doubt someone's intentions when he announces what the future is going to be like. And in this case, some intentions are very clear.
I agree that good/evil are religiously based ideas and are really backwards and should be discarded as such. Rather let's coin them as perhapse what's beneficial as a whole in society and what is regressing and harmful. War can be harmful or benficial, depending on which side you're standing on. You're right though, humans are neither evil nor good. We just are. We are eating, fucking, breathing, living machines motivated by self-presevation and greed.
Yes, exactly my point too. Where do you draw the line? I agree. We might as well be like Hitler and start to weed out the weak and replace the inferior race with an arian, better, new improved race. Ethnic cleansing?? Bugger the rest?? This kind of idealism is dangerous, has been tested in society many times over, and has failed dismaly. I disagree with Batukhan completely.
Hmm. I'd argue that yes, competition is a really healthy thing for progress, but to rule out the rest due to being less fortunate is a moot point and wld get us nowhere. To create a sustainable world where the motivation for competition isnt starvation but rather something altogether is far more productive and progressive. I agree what you said about the environments rule our competiveness, but in the end we should be batlling this not supporting our selfishness, greed and self preservation.
It's 2012 lads! and lassies. Get ready for some big changes.

HA ha ha. Indeed, there's something for everyone.

He simply asserts that this isn't "simply escapism"...but how is it not exactly the definition of escapism? Second Life is nothing more than an extremely inefficient instant messaging system with an overly sophisticated interface. It's basically an MMORPG with out any fun.

Wow! future will be like living in the Matrix. Imagine not taking the blue pill or red pill that it so becomes our future reality.
aphr0disiacx 4 years ago
Just think of it: in the future we will all walk around like blind people.
In the future, Privacy will no longer be a right, but a privelege of the elite.
Virtual reality may look better than life, but it can (and should) never replace your own real life.
pepetruelo 4 years ago 4
It will not replace "real" life.
The quality of life will improve for all human beings. The days of hand-to-mouth survival will be over. Information will be accessible to all.
milesp0123 3 years ago
I don't think so. We've had enough time and resources already to 'improve lfe for all human beings', and yet a great number of the world's population doesn't even have access to fresh water, not to mention proper food. There is a flaw in our very nature whereby a true equality among humans will never be accomplished. Technology will only widen the gap.
I hate to sound pessimistic, but it's written all over the history of mankind.
pepetruelo 3 years ago 3
We would all be equal if our environments were equal. It is only natural that some have a better life than others. It has nothing to do with "human nature".
The best part of mankind should not be held back by the worst. I'm not saying we should leave those people to die, but we certainly shouldn't overdo with the charity.
batukhan 3 years ago
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Do you mean that poverty and famine are a matter of chance? If so, you prove my point, since mankind can only speak of human rights and equal opportunities, but achieve very little of it- a moral contradiction. How can you even talk about the "worst part of mankind" holding back the "best"! I suppose the next step is, like the Rockerfellers would have it, to propose population reduction?
Just imagine you were part of the 'unlucky' 'worst'.
pepetruelo 3 years ago
What i'm saying, is that there is no FLAW in human nature. When pepetruelo said "technology will only widen the gap", then i thought that technological progress should never be held back because of social issues..
You're all so stuck in this good/evil world mentality. Get over it. Humans are not evil. War is not something only humans could think of. The history of mankind may be horrific, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
batukhan 3 years ago
Batukhan, I pretty much agree with Domzdream's comment. I would add that it has become quite evident that some rulers are working for anything but the interest of humanity. Do you believe Iraq, for instance, is anywhere closer to becoming a "free, democratic country"? Does anyone still believe this lie?
So I might be a bit too cautious, but I have every reason to doubt someone's intentions when he announces what the future is going to be like. And in this case, some intentions are very clear.
pepetruelo 3 years ago
I agree that good/evil are religiously based ideas and are really backwards and should be discarded as such. Rather let's coin them as perhapse what's beneficial as a whole in society and what is regressing and harmful. War can be harmful or benficial, depending on which side you're standing on. You're right though, humans are neither evil nor good. We just are. We are eating, fucking, breathing, living machines motivated by self-presevation and greed.
Domzdream 3 years ago
I so agree with Domzdream's idea that there is no good or evil, and that we should look at whats beneficial vs. whats not in progressing humanity.

I for one love being an eating, fucking, breathing, living machine motivated by self-preservation and greed... it's fun!

Domzdream 3 years ago
Domzdream 3 years ago
What you say might very well be a possibility. It's quite scary to consiuder.

Great, i like it raised some ponderous questions about the nature of Virtual reality.
Imo, Second life is a pioneer VR application but needs a lot of improvement regarding graphics and things to keep you less bored.
