  • OMG i love that homemade 5 chime

  • Oh to be able to say something like a steam whistle can.

  • the homebuilt sounded like one of the whistles on the nkp 765

  • WHAT WAS THE WHISLTE OF THE nkp 587 and WM 734 in 1994

  • @ripjump12

    a handcock 3 chime

  • Second, third (which sounds almost like an MD NYC 6 chimes to me), fourth, sixth = coolzers

  • I really liked the Southern (but there was a squeal that was in there that I don't think was supposed to). I like the higher pitched, the lowers came on the really big boys later in the steam era.

  • I think I have to say my two favorite are the

-Santa Fe 5-chime (Mike Daugherty replica)

    -homemade 5-chime (Elwood Belnap)

  • Do you think the guy that owns the whistles from the RMS Mauretania could be persuaded to do a video like this?

I have a low-ish quality mp3 of them that I found on the internet, I'd kill to see a video of 'em.

  • The Homemade 5-chime is the best!

  • the C&O 3 sounds like a ghost whistle.

    I love it!

  • unknown 5 chime and the homemade 5 chime are nice. even the santa fe 5 chime is good too.

  • that 5.5 is awful

  • I think it's cute.

  • ok then

  • Tell me more. I'm looking for the video.

  • Love the RS5T there chris!

  • The unknown 5 chime Sounds like 2-8-0 40's 5 chimer.

  • one of the whistles sounds like south simcoe railway 4-4-0 # 136.

  • i agree with you, the first whistle does sound like south simcoe railway # 136

  • Wow, that guy with the "unknown" 5 chime needs to learn how to quill a whistle -- neat stuff though!

  • Very nice!!

  • Hey, too cool! I grew up just down the road from the St. Joseph Valley Old Engine Assoc. grounds at Boot Hill Ranch. I used to bike on over when they were having a show.

We could hear the Annual Whistle Blow from our house each year.

  • That homemade 5 chime is the best one of the 2 videos.

  • The santa fe 5 chimer sounds more like NH&I 40

  • the 5 chime is DSNRR 478
