Stage 2 - Oddly enough no. I restart whored the first part so many times (CC seems to get less reliable as time goes on eventually the game freezes, meh) that I almost forgot about the latter parts of the fight. I know of the semi sweet spots but I felt showing Riningans magic switch tricking was worthwhile as was showing that even as GK a RotT frenzy is still viable. I have previously netted a 25 shot STUN LOOP on the first pillar, its al about being in the right
place at the right time for the first shot. After that the pacing isn't a problem, the positioning (not my forte) is more important, y'know speed, time, distance.
Shit Stage 2 is so easy I saw no need to plan it in advance. Just RAEP then WIN
Stage 3 - Yeah the sweet spot was a damn good find. Props to you for doing so. When I ventured from this safe haven to FINISH HER with bow shots it surprised me how aggressive Euryale is in stage 3. She nasty. Still as with many bosses getting real
close to them seems to limit the attacks they use (Lahkesis and Zeus spring immediately to mind) making trick timing easier. It boils down to trick then attack, my preferred method of attack which is why I love the BH so much. Heavy instantly cancellable/trickable attacks. Suits me just fine even with the reduced GK damage values.
Typhons Bane: If you don't love it then you don't know what you are talking about
PAIN+ Stage 3 is goddamn rediculous. I eventaully got near death so I said fuck it (Bel-air)....and went to the Sweet Spot.
For rapid tricking I just tap the left analog between presses of L2 now. Also, air tricking can be held for as long as you're in the air which is nice to know.
Indeed.
~I'll likely post the findings of the GK:TM:NUR (SoD FAQ) at alt.TUGOWU later just for a 'preview' of the work I'd been doing.
It's the only reliable way to trick rapidly on the ground but requires control/timing beyond my ability (even when familiar) to reproduce without absolute focus.
YA RLY (didn't know that before). I first applied it against Zeus Stage 2/4 attacks by double jumping then holding L2. Cutesy. I'll try applying it to the Kraken (his stabbing shit) later.
Strictly speaking wouldn't the technique you describe be well timed cancelling (even though no attack was being cancelled the analogue and L2 combination is the same as used when bow cancelling)
Only way to trick rapidly on the ground? MOAR rapidly than is required by Zeus' double ZF attack? Thats perfectly doable just with L2, just double tap. Any quicker than that would surely put you in the realms of EH tricking, slightly slower draw but
perhaps the longer I frames would avoid both attacks, not tried using a single EH trick against the double bolt attack (don't think it would work)
Is this quick tricking for repeated usage or to allow quicker counter attacking? If it is for quick repeated tricking then you are in the realms of Riningan's magic switch tricking.
Zeus stage2/4? Thats where he has the BoO, right? Double jumping? and tricking?WTF were you playing at? Finding quick ways to land triangle hits on your PAIN+ run
If memory serves then stages 2 and 4 are all about Spirit whoring (the long way) and PoP as required or for MAXIMUM MANPOINTS standing toe to toe with Zeus and tricking his attacks, some of the BoO strikes are a little quick even for my tastes, countering with square or square, triangle. Are you THAT good at toe to toe tricking? No offence but I doubt it. From what you have said about timing and reactions I doubt it. Haven't seen much to prove your tricking credentials. I don't doubt you are
Familiarity allows me to anticipate attacks better which often makes up for my slow reaction time. Luckily this isn't fucking Ninja Gaiden with their freakishly fast attacks, cheap bullshit (see: The Test of Valor that RAPED Shinobier until he finally bested it after resorting to Ninpo and Potions over and over along with typical Master Ninja strats..I'd NEVER seen him use potions or Ninpo before that fight...totall bullshit) and a shit camera/design. It's hard to fight what you can't see.
As if. He doesn't count. I can SEE that nigger in Stage 1 at this point. That's NOT invisible. That's like "Predator" shit. Still visible. We're talking TOTALLY OFF-SCREEN or totally not possible to see...and of course the occassional 'so fast you can't keep up'. Very little in GoW ever touches those areas I despise.
Despite it being more realistic for a foe to have their own line of sight independent of what YOU see...it is also 'less then player friendly'...
Stage 3 is and to a lesser extent the ever so short (stunless) Stage 5. IF you had seen the work I've already done with Zeus, you would know the answer to be yes. I have 2 working strats I have stand in titles for..."FLANK" (circle strafing attacks and landing PS/air PS when there is a safe opening) and "RAPE" (stand right in front, using PS for a stun, PS again once he recovers for another and IF he uses an attack that goes through it, Trick through that and PS...and repeat)
Makes sense then. I always saw giant Zeus as a sort of pre fight. It makes sense that it would be stage 1, what with it being the first stage. The checkpoint is what does it, I blanked the inconsequential siren stage from my memory.
I have seen your Zeus PS stuff, for some reason I assumed you were referring to your PAIN+ when you mentioned Zeus
Create a dependable strategy can be frustrating when you wish to cut corners and be totally efficient about it..while figuring out various glitches to exploit. Otherwise it is indeed forgettable...fucking resorting to having extra foes tossed in to make the battle more interesting...pathetic. Unique foes (grunt class) even can be okay for such a situation *huge groups*..but to surround the boss with familiar foes just seems like a dick (Ninja Gaiden) move at creating a challenge often enough
Not this time. For now I'll stick to SoD rape. I've already given strat coverage for all that shit anyway. I'm a bit weary of the grind for the moment and will take this time to rapidly catch-up on a few shows, make a few rounds, see a few flicks, etc.
Stage 1 - With my disc so scratched, I would't be allowed such quick switches in cycling.
Stage 2 - You didn't create tactics before hand?
Stage 3 - Now that's class. Sweet Spots.
TB - Underrated..but not by myself.

I already did, so, YES ME.
Do not mistake my ability to be ridiculously inefficient with an inability to be efficient. they may appear similar but are not the same thing
Neat tip with the analog. I love working tricking into a bow cancelled hammer frenzy
Air Tricking can be held , O RLY? I knew it could be used but have not encountered a situation where multiple/prolonged air tricking was required.
My next little video project is the Hades Fiend Juggernaut fight with all four weapons

Prove it. Oh snap! (get it?)

good, I just wonder how good you are at this particular aspect of GoWII play.

Yeah the water didn't do him any favours .

And it wasn't just he water. The Shade oddly made him easier to spot.

For that reason I always preferred fighting him in the lower left corner.

Oh you didn't know? Your ass betta calllll somebodyyyyyyy yeah! (get iiiiiit?)
Not entirely. The foward movement releasing L2 breifly cancels the draw a bit sooner then is natural even with the lightest of touches. Get it?
Makes me wonder if that could reasonably be used to cycle through the likes of the psychotic Satyr attacks.
No. Stage 1 is HUGE Zeus. The guide likes to be a dick and say Stage 2 is stage 1. But they such so fuck them. I do odd things...
