I'm Vietnamese, thanks anyone who posted this video. It opened my knowledge about my country. Besides Kinh, there also has many other ethnic living with u. Hmong girls are so beautiful, yet their voice is so lovely even though I do not understand :D...
there are traditions that should be kept and there are those that need to be let go especially when they could mean life and death for someone. I know a lot of older hmong people who are very superstitious and some pretty ignorant. Some are ignorant due to lack of education but I personally know a few that refuse to believe anything else. I'm glad to see hmong women trying to make a difference in their community and their men supporting them.
You guys gotta remember that the Hmong in Vietnam have the old Hmong accent from China than in Laos & Thailand where dialects and accent changed a lot. Plus, they are more likely traditional than Hmong in Laos & Thailand... see how they eat with chopsticks and mini bowls.
I 'm not bias nor narrow minded. I felt disturbed and recognized how irresponsible the Vietnamese government are toward the Hmong. I hope Vietnamese and Hmong unite and help each others. If any Hmong on here are from Ha Giang province please contact me. I would love to tour the area and any guide is much appreciated
I'm Vietnamese and will be visiting Vietnam end of the year. If anyone knows YING email, I would like to help her so she can improve the lives of others. Keep up the good work Ying. It seems like the Hmong women work much more than the men. Get your *ss up and help your ladies.
@Jamesshop7 You correctly responded to HmoobGuy. Definitely, there's a misunderstanding. The video skewered ethic Hmong men's role in society; therefore, you have the perception these women work much more than the men. Perhaps, if there is a documentary solely about Hmong men, you'd see that they are most supportive, hard working and shoulder all the heavy jobs in the families. The English voice narrating here clearly sympathizes with these women, cause it's about them. The viewers too.
@Jamesshop7 You're at fault for generalizing about their lifestyles, men not helping the women. HmongGuy's at fault for losing his cool. Anyways, these women need help, they are ethnic Hmong but Vietnamese in nationality. You, me, and even HmongGuy here have good reasons to help them if and when we can. If you care to look these people up in your travel, me as another Hmong can only thank you. Disregard other young and negative remarks in here. Peace.
i understand she is trying to help modernize the hmong community there but, seems like it is safer to have the baby at home. the walk to the hospital and risk of being kidnapped is more dangerous along with the fact that the baby could be due anytime. she could jus teach them how to sterilize scissors and be adamant about them using clean blankets. what if the babies get kidnapped by traffickers on the way back.,,,it's really risky.
very proud of my hmong sister who is trying her best to help.....i prey upon you to live a long life that you will no encounter any sickness ans keep helping our hmong people in rural area.........keep it up ....we will support you all the way ....hmong pride
YING, YOU'RE DOING YOUR BEST TO HELP HMONG WOMEN IN VIETNAM! THAT'S VERY KIND OF YOU! DO YOU HAVE AN EMAIL ADDRESS BECAUSE WANT TO TALK TO YOU AND SUPPORT YOU FINANCIALLY? THANKS. KAJCI.

i think all the Hmong people back in; Thailand, Vietname, Laos, and China, should all get out of those hellish countries.
