Ari, I'm having a little difficulty distinguishing the difference between this video and the one labeled Key Lock from Scarf Hold.. Is it the same video reworked or am I just missing something? Maybe its just the different angles I can't tell the difference
I know this video is like 3years old. But just pointing out the pronunciation is like "gah tah meh" In Japanese romaji a sounds like "Ah" and e sounds like "eh" like the e in "egg"
I didn't know BJJ guys used this. I used this move to win one of my matches in my video @ NAGA
i used that tonight, people i wrestled werent used to defending that submission, and didnt know about getting out of that position, so its something ill add to my book, thanks for the video
yes o.k fine but its a lot tighter and more powerfull when done properly that is poor technique when you bend his arm at the elbow like that try putting his arm over your right leg keeping his arm straight and palm up, then put your right heel on his palm and your left leg over the right foot
It is actually easier to get the ude garami this way (bent)...neither is a wrong or poor technique, only different. BJJ, JUDO, JJJ, SAMBO all have this variation.
I do have a video...i will post it when i get back to my other computer. might need to edit it a little. we did one 6 minute round and i tapped him with this in the 5th minute.. it's the same guy i triangled in my videos
Shrimp so your chest faces his body and pull your arm in so it cannot be trapped. Take your outside arm and place it on his neck and you the arm you tucked in to support the neck arm. Move you legs so they make a straight line with his body and use your legs to grab his head and pull him down. Just always shrimp to your side fast and you will be ok, else bear hug him and roll him over.
move your knee out from the body so you can push down on the shoulder with your arm while pushing up on the bicep with your knee and extending down with your ankle locked on his wrist
if u wanna b really nasty lean over and grab his opposite arm and go 4 a kimura at the same time, make sure his arms r parralel tho when doin this. painfull
Hi, I've had some good results with putting the arm under the oppostite leg so the arm would go over the right leg and under the left putting pressure on the elbow then same as with this technique with feet hips etc. I do like this technique though

do you know if that would be allowed in a judo competition?

this have been one one my favorite moves for the past 4 months. I always thought of it was a "leg kimura" with lack of a better name.

i love to do this right after a koshi guruma cause they're usually so worried about how they landed that they can't even resist it.

I've tried to do this but people always submit as soon as I trap the arm under the first leg.

This one always gets me! blargh! Do you know a good counter?
Also
I've seen someone get a straight armbar in the same way, with their legs from scarf; but it hasn't worked for me yet. Any tips?
I watch you guys almost every day! You rule!

that's a nice one, I've found myself in that position a few time and didn't know anything, but to work for side control or full mount.
