  • This is really very interesting and I never heard what you said voiced in just that way. Clearly you are an extraordinarily deep thinker and it's quite refreshing to hear this thought process. By the way, you do pass haha. If I (male) had not been aware of your true gender, I would never have assumed you were anything but a female. :)

  • Hey Meghan, I noticed Funnehness posted a rather desparate/frantic comment here about 2 months ago and being curious I went to her channel and shock-horror, noticed she has not signed in for the same length of time. Have you heard from her?

  • No, I have not heard from Kyle. I find that that's kind of how Youtube and the internet are. Many times people come here and make a page and comment a few times, make a few videos and then they just disappear. It can be frustrating at times because you worry about people. I've had that happen with people I've known quite often. Hopefully everything is ok with Kyle and they've just been really busy with real life. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.

  • I only created my channel in November 2009, so I'm pretty new to YouTubing. But, yes, like you I do worry about people. I guess I need to grow a thicker skin or simply adopt more of an approach that not everyone is similar to me. What I mean by this is that I'm here for the long haul to share my experiences, help others where I can and share information and construct a support network. Anyway, thanks Meghan for your speedy reply.

    ***hugs*** Rachael

  • I know this video was put up a while ago now, but Meghan, what a brilliantly well thought out and easy to understand response.

On another note, the passability factor is something I think about a lot too. Hope my genetics are good.

As for GRS, I'm with you on this, in that I would be getting it done totally for my own feeling of well being and also to be as close as I can possibly be to a genetic female. Being born in the wrong body is so much more than a mere inconvenience. **hugs** Rachael

  • Please please help me i need help.. I am a 15 year old transsexual male to female... My name is Kyle.. I need help bad.. Please please please someone help me

  • I totally agree with you , SRS is for you . it's why I had it. I don't even know how to describe why it gives me comfort but it does. I'm not ill when I look in the mirror now when I am naked. It's wonderful.

  • omg you look good

  • Thanks so much for your response Meghan. And for the record, you do pass. Also for the record, I don't see anyone who goes through GRS as tricking anyone...I just wanted to understand the thought process that people undertake beforehand. Your video makes a lot of sense and I'm glad you have the opportunity to correct the way you are and see yourself as best you can, through surgery and whatnot.

  • You have the face and the voice.

To be completely honest if you did not tell me I would never of known, and I am not just saying that to be nice either.

  • You're 40 years old?!?!? You *so* don't look it!!

I thought you were, like, in your late 20s!!

  • Your answer was perfect for me. I have been asked why surgery is so important since no one can tell that I am not physically a woman.

It is because for me it doesn't feel right and for me I need to feel right from my toes to the top of my head. The only way to fix that incongruity is to have surgery.

For society I pass as a woman, but besides working on my voice I really didn't try too hard for that to happen. It was just a matter of being myself.

    Thanks for the wonderful response.

  • Meghan, it's videos like yours that have helped to open my heart and mind to better understand the TG community. I have always been openminded even when I didn't totally understand. Now that I understand, it just makes it all the better. I just wish more 'straight' peoplew would open up their minds and hearts and just listen and learn. Thank you Meghan, for such a heartfelt and sincere video.. :)

  • I agree with Edenroc720 completely. There are just as many people ignorant to and fearful of trans people, too, though.

  • Well maybe not just as many. since there's not a lot, but there are a lot.

  • I love the video, I am about to go full time female (I hope) and can really identify with the questioning about is this really necessacery for me to do. So far I feel that if I don't live as a woman I'm going to go insane.

  • great response vid girl;) and the telling whats on your minded .about why you wanne too change,s your gender id in this lifetime .hugies from the allready cold fall / dark amsterdam city bbbbrrrrr hihiihi alana:D

  • omg! 0:48 , i thaught i was the only one who thaught like that

  • Great video Meghan. I agree cause my goal and hope is to feel whole as well and to see me in the mirror and to be called she in everyday life.

    All love from me Jasmine

  • Oh Meghan! Seriously, you express what we all go through and feel so amazingly well. Thank you for being so eloquent and honest. No pressure or anything but it seems to me every civil rights movement need it's own MLK or Mandela. Can you please volunteer for the job? Only joking. But you are the best possible spokeswoman for our community I can imagine!

Like I said, only joking. The important thing is how you feel about yourself. Look after that incredibly special person first!

    Loveya!
