I have a small crack on my ds's hinge, not that big of a deal, but I want to sell it. It appears to be missing a small piece of plastic between the part that connects to the screen and the part that connects to the bottom that holds it still.

Would a nicely measured piece of plastic and a touch of super glue fix this?

My cousin's DS lite got dropped of of a shelf and was missing a large chunk and i took some time and made a perfect piece of plastic but I used wood glue...... i don't know if superglue would damage the plastic or not :/ but it didn't matter cause she's spoiled and got a DSi XL a few months later >:(

My DS has a little crack left to the thing that indicates if your battery is low or not and it's been messing with the top screen. Everytime I lift it up, it makes these weird cracking noises and when I close it, the lid isn't firm and hangs upside down if you hang the DS upside down. What should I do?

the actual LED is on the circuit board. the clear/translucent part that you see pops right out of the plastic hinge housing. once you have the original housing over the hinge removed (by unscrewing it), just pull the small piece of clear plastic out :)

DS and lite hinges are known to break, I just opened mine and it cracked for no reason. For a while, I believe nintendo was doing repairs for free since a lot of people had that problem.. but that was a couple years ago and thats stopped since then.

There is one reason, when you wiggling it, the cable of the top screen has been disconnected and the top screen turned off .

the screen goes blank sometimes, do you know why that happen, because there is a switch in the hinge , it goes blank if you close the DS, so don't worry about screen, but about change the color of the screen, i think the screen cable is not plugged in very will.

i dropped my original ds in a river and found it 5 minutes later at the bottom 3 yards up and played mario kart on the way home 5 min later (i was fishing with freinds i put it in my shirt pocket i bent over to change my lure and it slipped out) i also dropped that one an easy 1500 times at school and it worked like new and had only 3 noticable scratches that where tiny in a 8cm x8cm area of the front corner

I have a crack on mine but it's the left side. Maybe someday soon it will fall apart. Personally I think it's Nintendo's job to fix their faulty products, for free, not my job to do it. I've lost a lot of respect for Nintendo recently. I have a crack, you fixed yours, and both of ours are now obsolete with the DSi. Looking forward to the first DSi-only Mario or Zelda game! we do not have a branch of nintendo in saudi arabia, so we cannot send the device to them to fix it, we all so have some technicals can fix it for us, but they are not professional, and they Expensive -_-.

so we most Adopted on ourself and fix our devices by ourself.

We are suffering, but Nintendo dose not know about our suffering.
