@kennykanowski I would prefer the G-System but it cost three times more. For the price the GT-10 is very good and it sounds good with my tube amps using it in the 4 cable method.
I've always tried to steer away from individual pedals for the primary just of my board. The whole scenario of stomping everywhere to shut effects on/off aggravated me.Could you explain how easy it is to switch from your distortion pedals, to preset effects on the g-system back and forth?
Hello I want to buy a Nova System and an expression pedal Boss FV500. My question is between the models and FV500L FV500H. What is compatible with Nova System?
I have an old ADA MP1. I don't think there is anything better for heads up rock tone as far as overdrive/distortion goes. I've been looking for something just like this to have just clean effects that don't alter my core tone. I run my MP1 into the power amp in on my old tube amp. would this link (with the MP1) via midi or just chain them together with patch cords?? thanks
Another great demo Glenn! Do you stil have this unit? My question is regarding to AMP swicthing. I have an ENGL E530 preamp which has 2 footswitch ins. One for HiGain/LoGain & Clean/lead the other one is for PreampDefeat & Counter On/Off.
I can't find a video anywhere with someone using the g-system intelligent pitch shifter to show us the 2 voices. All I see is the octaves been shown. Does the pitch shifter track as well as the digitech harmony man? Can you produce queen like harmonies with major 3rds above and below, or fifths and so on. Do you know of a video anywhere showing this. Is it as good as the digitech harmony man? This may determine whether I purchase the system or not.
Love the set up. Can you use your g-system to change the amp channels on the Traynor? I am think of picking up both, but I am concerned about the channel switching. Can be done at the same time and you change a patch on the G-system? Great playin' ....Thanks
can u switch for example the amp channel and an od pedal with delay in one stomp? another question, i play on a mesa dual rec, would it be better through the loop or in front?
@Mastersonics The G-system is a way bog step up from the Nova System. The main thing the Nova system has that the G does not is overdrive. But sadly the Nova System suffers from really bad patch latency when changing patches. Un-usable for my needs.
Which of the three Distortion pedals sounds better in an all tube Guitar amplifier ( Traynor YCS 50 or Fender Vibroking ) and a Fender Stratocaster or a GIbson Les Paul Guitar.Thanks.
@Maharrol That's the Zvex Box of Rock in the loop of the G-System. That guitar I am playing has alot to do with that sound. That is a BC Rich Circa 1974. It has A Dual PAF and a Dimarzio SD with all kinds of coil splitting and phase reversal wiring in it. And of coarse the Traynor YCS50 amp.
@extremevideopro The G system Sounds as good as you play. The GT 10 Does not do you justice. Even if it costs 3 times as much ,it sounds a HUNDRED times Better.
@bossgtdiez10 Unfortunately I could not get a good sound with the G-System and there were some features that I missed with the GT-10 that the G-System could not do so I had to sell it.

@bechboy94 That is a 1972 B.C. Rich Mockingbird. Check out Ed Roman Guitars in Las Vegas to see them . These are not the same Mockingbirds being made today. Ed Roman has the real deal "Back in the Day" guitars like they used to be made.
How come. You used to have a GT 10.I really got tired myself of the GT 10, too digital.I switched my self to single stompboxes and I am happy so far. I've heard a lot about TC electronic pedals and systems. They are pretty expensives though. Why you switched to TC electronics.
@udayvirgarg22 Oh yes, actually I had to go back to the GT-10. The G-system was not working out for me. There were a few things that the GT-10 did that i really missed and found out I could not do without. The G-System is a killer unit for sure and I know it's not even in the same class as the Gt-10. However for me, it did not do what I needed. I guess I'm just too picky!!
I'm planning to play live performances in various places, and I need the most versatility. I'll be plugging straight into the PA system through an XLR, and I need a unit with both good amp modeling and good stomp modeling. I play at church, so I need tones for anywhere between Lincoln brewster to Hillsong. I won't be using a tube amp, so I will be depending heavily on the preamp for my tones. Would the Boss GT-10 suit my needs or will the POD X3 LIVE?

@guitartone95 It's going to be hard to get the feel of an amp with these things. Both of them have pretty good tones. The X3-Live has more Output option like XLR outs.

Glenn you should be using the 4CM so you can use the your great Traynor amp preamp. The 2cm you are currently using you are passing the whole dist + effects through the preamp, and some effects won´t sound as they should. 4cm will give you a more organic tone as the the dist + ovdr will pass through the preamp (just like connecting the pedals through the input) and all the effects through you poweramp stage via the fx loop.
@Fender308 I know but I've tried & tried & tried again to use the 4CM and I just can't get a good sound. It has to do with the Traynor FX loop not being serial. Also when I use the 4CM I get tons of hissing noise. 4CM just does not work good with this amp.

@MassimoPetrucci That's a good question. You know i tried the 4CM but for some reason I could not get a good sound. I think it had something to do with my amps effects loop not being serial or something like that. All I know is it sounds very, very good in front of this amp. Other amps may be different I guess.
man, really tempted.and the more i look at this thing the more iwant it.but what to do with the gt-10 and everything i got for it?i was thinking in getting the nova drive in front of my tube amp and just use the gt-10 in the loop of the amp.that way i'll stop messing with all the sims and get to playing. what you think bro?
@bossgtdiez10 I kept my GT-10 for direct recording. You just can't beat it. From metal to country it's very cool. For live though this rig is sweet. Even though I am using the Nova Drive. I would not recommend it right now. It's very buggy and it's noisy as well. You really should look into other distortion boxes for the front of your amp. I would suggest looking at Zvex, Wampler, and Majik Box, just to name a few. Also Vox Satchurator and the new ICE9 by Vox.
wanted to let you know about gearmanndude on youtube, he does a lot of reviews of pedals. I bought one of his luthor drive distortion pedals and its killer. Check him out!

@bossgtdiez10 Hey bro, what's up?? Yeah I traded my Traynor K-4 for the G-system. Hey the Nova Drive is a pretty good pedal and it integrates well with the G-System.
Still waiting to hear if "The End of Me" will make it to the movie.
Hey Glen great stuff!!! I just purchased the Nova System to run with some pedals and my Marshall JVM410h head. G System coming in the fall as i just want to get my feet wet a bit first being a Pedalboard user for so long.
That being said may I suggest a KILLER Boost/Overdrive Pedal for you that I think you will love called the Doug Aldrich Rocket Fuel by a company called Majik Box. I think you would love it!!
you are the best guitarrist that I never seen, you realice a good job recording those videos, I learn ALOT just watching! thanks!!! keep going bro!!!! 100% sup
hey glenn if you ever change rigs again consider the eleven rack i have heard so many good reviews on it. This thing sounds awesome tho. i might post a vid of my new rig
@extremevideopro id love to hear you demo one, most of the demo's of the eleven rack on youtube are no good. Cool rig btw, Mr Vai uses one of these lol
He is probably referring to the LE versions. These versions usually come bundled with certain products and are a pretty stripped down version of the full blown Cubase.
Oh, I forgot this. Yes, LE version are lighter and it hasn´t all of the effects, function and other things like full Cubase. :-) But for easy and simply recording is LE version good too. :-)

@bossgtdiez10 Hey bro, what's up?? Yeah I traded my Traynor K-4 for the G-system. Hey the Nova Drive is a pretty good pedal and it integrates well with the G-System.
Still waiting to hear if "The End of Me" will make it to the movie.
extremevideopro 1 year ago
Hey Glen great stuff!!! I just purchased the Nova System to run with some pedals and my Marshall JVM410h head. G System coming in the fall as i just want to get my feet wet a bit first being a Pedalboard user for so long.
That being said may I suggest a KILLER Boost/Overdrive Pedal for you that I think you will love called the Doug Aldrich Rocket Fuel by a company called Majik Box. I think you would love it!!
All The Best:
Doug

I've been wanting to get that pinnacle 2 for awhile now
mrkyt77 1 year ago
@mrkyt77 Go get it man, It's a great pedal. I had to wait 6 weeks for that darn thing but it was worth it.

Some people are saying that running OD or DST pedals in the loops of the g-system degrades their sound. Is this true?
giorgisk 1 year ago
Oh no, not with my rig it doesn't. I think it depends on how you hook it to your amp.
extremevideopro 1 year ago
Very nice and incredible sound. :-)

hey glenn if you ever change rigs again consider the eleven rack i have heard so many good reviews on it. This thing sounds awesome tho. i might post a vid of my new rig
TaylorGilmour 1 year ago
hey Taylor, Oh yes I know of the Eleven Rack. It is very nice indeed. I'd love to demo one.
extremevideopro 1 year ago
@extremevideopro id love to hear you demo one, most of the demo's of the eleven rack on youtube are no good. Cool rig btw, Mr Vai uses one of these lol
TaylorGilmour 1 year ago
Oh yeah I know, It seems lately every time I see some live concert the guitarists are using these things.
extremevideopro 1 year ago
@extremevideopro yea haha guess simpler and easier to use is better for live or Studio. i

What do you use to record?
I use Cubase LE 4 and its terrible
ic300x 1 year ago
I use Cubase SX3. I have been using Cubase for about 18 years. I started using Cubase when computers only came with 2 MB of RAM LOL. I'm so old! LOL
extremevideopro 1 year ago
Why terrible? Cubase is good software for audio editing and recording. :-)
Vladotubular 1 year ago
He is probably referring to the LE versions. These versions usually come bundled with certain products and are a pretty stripped down version of the full blown Cubase.
extremevideopro 1 year ago
Oh, I forgot this. Yes, LE version are lighter and it hasn´t all of the effects, function and other things like full Cubase. :-) But for easy and simply recording is LE version good too. :-)
Vladotubular 1 year ago
Are you giving up the GT-10?
cingram72 1 year ago
Nope, I still use it for studio recording and as a back-up system.

Well, I actually traded one of my amps for the G-System. yes they are a bit pricey. Steve and lot's of other players use the G-System.
