  • Which system do you prefer G system or GT-10

  • @kennykanowski I would prefer the G-System but it cost three times more. For the price the GT-10 is very good and it sounds good with my tube amps using it in the 4 cable method.

  • Another outstanding video Thunderthumbs!!!

  • I've always tried to steer away from individual pedals for the primary just of my board. The whole scenario of stomping everywhere to shut effects on/off aggravated me.Could you explain how easy it is to switch from your distortion pedals, to preset effects on the g-system back and forth?

  • @themagicalone00 It's very easy because each button can be made to switch on or off several things at one time.

  • can u hook up a line 6 m13 with the g system? if so then i dont think anybody needs a stompbox....????

  • Tanks for answer.

  • Hello I want to buy a Nova System and an expression pedal Boss FV500. My question is between the models and FV500L FV500H. What is compatible with Nova System?

  • I have an old ADA MP1. I don't think there is anything better for heads up rock tone as far as overdrive/distortion goes. I've been looking for something just like this to have just clean effects that don't alter my core tone. I run my MP1 into the power amp in on my old tube amp. would this link (with the MP1) via midi or just chain them together with patch cords?? thanks

  • @bigjohn98665 Yes The ADA could be controlled via MIDI from The G-System

  • Great pedal board, I do own one. Better song, sounds great my friend.

  • Another great demo Glenn! Do you stil have this unit? My question is regarding to AMP swicthing. I have an ENGL E530 preamp which has 2 footswitch ins. One for HiGain/LoGain & Clean/lead the other one is for PreampDefeat & Counter On/Off.

Do you think G-System can handle this?

  • @cakire82 It's possible that it can either by amp switching or via MIDI. The G-System has an extensive set of MIDI CC commands it can send.

  • Is it possible to hook up head phones and use this system as an in-ear monitor?

  • @LexTalinois There is no headphone jack on this unit.

  • Dude the tone for Custard Pie was dead on..... I'm super jealous.

  • I can't find a video anywhere with someone using the g-system intelligent pitch shifter to show us the 2 voices. All I see is the octaves been shown. Does the pitch shifter track as well as the digitech harmony man? Can you produce queen like harmonies with major 3rds above and below, or fifths and so on. Do you know of a video anywhere showing this. Is it as good as the digitech harmony man? This may determine whether I purchase the system or not.

  • Love the set up. Can you use your g-system to change the amp channels on the Traynor? I am think of picking up both, but I am concerned about the channel switching. Can be done at the same time and you change a patch on the G-system? Great playin' ....Thanks

  • @Maharrol Yes the G-System does change the channels on the Traynor YCS50

  • Who on Earth disliked this video? Must be a Line 6 or Boss employee.

  • Immediate "Like" for playing Stone Temple Pilots! :)

On an unrelated side note, I also really dig your instructional videos in general! And you playing!

  • @Tatkovladko Thank you

  • can u switch for example the amp channel and an od pedal with delay in one stomp? another question, i play on a mesa dual rec, would it be better through the loop or in front?

  • @davem04ify Yes you could swith the amp and the OD pedal at the same time. I think you should try going into the loop of the triplerec. Nice amp BTW

  • can u switch for example the amp channel and an od pedal with delay in one stomp?

  • could you please tell me where you got your pedal board from?

  • @Aaronventura Rondo Music in New York, model: CNB PDC-4100G

  • as always..u come up with a great demo..luv all yur vids man.

well explain..n very helpful..keep it up Sir!!

    greetings from Singapore :)

  • hi after using all of this pedals what can you tell me about the pod x3? whats you're personal opinion on that unit?

  • @zapz2101 The X3 is a very good digital amp modeler.

  • Sounds very "pedally" to my ear...

  • Great demo...

Where you got those nice branded logos?

    I

  • @Mastersonics Thanks I made them myself. You can get the templates on the G-System forums

  • @extremevideopro

Still undecided between the G System Limited and the Nova System

Is the G System that much better than the Nova System?

The cool thing about the G System is the ability to switch channels on an amp.

Could you please explain a little more?

    thanks

    Charles

  • @Mastersonics The G-system is a way bog step up from the Nova System. The main thing the Nova system has that the G does not is overdrive. But sadly the Nova System suffers from really bad patch latency when changing patches. Un-usable for my needs.

  • Which of the three Distortion pedals sounds better in an all tube Guitar amplifier ( Traynor YCS 50 or Fender Vibroking ) and a Fender Stratocaster or a GIbson Les Paul Guitar.Thanks.

  • @nisnel Oh the Pinnacle sounds the best to me. It really sounds good with the YCS50 too!!

  • That STP tone is amazing!!!! I have been looking for that all my life. Can you comment on signal path on how you achieved this PLEASE.

    Thanks

  • @Maharrol That's the Zvex Box of Rock in the loop of the G-System. That guitar I am playing has alot to do with that sound. That is a BC Rich Circa 1974. It has A Dual PAF and a Dimarzio SD with all kinds of coil splitting and phase reversal wiring in it. And of coarse the Traynor YCS50 amp.

  • @civicbud I just used lots of velcro. It works well.

  • this g system sounds better then the lame boss gt 10

  • @mcafee1971 Well yes it should cos it cost about 3 times the price.

  • @extremevideopro The G system Sounds as good as you play. The GT 10 Does not do you justice. Even if it costs 3 times as much ,it sounds a HUNDRED times Better.

    Cheers

  • @mcafee1971 OK Great, thanks

  • hey glen, what did you do with the G? are you experimenting with it stil? or did it not do anything for and you stopped useing it all together?

  • @bossgtdiez10 Unfortunately I could not get a good sound with the G-System and there were some features that I missed with the GT-10 that the G-System could not do so I had to sell it.

  • finally got my pinnacle, and i also bought a line 6 m13...I'm really liking this new setup

  • @mrkyt77 Cool

  • Hey Glenn,

I really like your Videos :)

Just a question about the G system and the Boss Pedal. How did you connect it with your G system. And with which cable? A regular mono one???

    best regards

  • @Mjaquie The Boss FV500 connects to the G-System external pedal jack using a stereo to stereo 1/4in. plug.

  • @extremevideopro

    Thanks :)

  • Nice demo, I lvoe that Custard Pie By Led Zep at 5:23 :)

  • @vbdude006 Thank you

  • ah fair enough. i may go to the store and see if they'll let me try. ill inform you if I have any luck.

and great playing by the way. I may have to try this thumb picking at some point

  • @morbideddie OK thanks. Yes Please let me know about the Nova Drive & The GT-10. I would love to put it back on my board.

  • hey. just wondering can you use the gt 10 to control the nova drive? just wondering as i have and love the gt 10 but i'm not to keen on the distortion and the nova drive sounds great on the demo's i've seen.

  • @morbideddie It's funny but I did try that. I could not get the GT-10 to communicate with the Nova Drive.

  • @extremevideopro does it suck tone if i don't have a fx-loop

  • @Jacklovesrock No not at all. I used this in front of my amps and it sounded great.

  • @extremevideopro were did you get that pedal board?

  • @Jacklovesrock Rondo music Model number CNB-PDC 4100G

  • Glenn! What kind of "board" are all of these gadgets sitting on?? I want to take my gsystem on the road, but I can't find a suitable board for it that doesn't already have power (and extra WEIGHT) already on/in it!

  • @RodTuffcurls Hey Rod, I use a pedal board case made by Rondo music. The model i use is the CNB PDC-4100G Flight Pedal Case

  • @extremevideopro THANKS, Glenn! Good 2 know.

  • what kind of mockingbird is that?

  • @bechboy94 That is a 1972 B.C. Rich Mockingbird. Check out Ed Roman Guitars in Las Vegas to see them . These are not the same Mockingbirds being made today. Ed Roman has the real deal "Back in the Day" guitars like they used to be made.

  • @extremevideopro thanks man:)

  • How come. You used to have a GT 10.I really got tired myself of the GT 10, too digital.I switched my self to single stompboxes and I am happy so far. I've heard a lot about TC electronic pedals and systems. They are pretty expensives though. Why you switched to TC electronics.

  • @nisnel I just wanted to try it out to see what the buzz was all about.

  • menos palique y mas tocar,

  • @COBRE1975 Lo sentimos, no voy a tratar de jugar más en los videos

  • I loved the STP cover intro.

Great demo as always. Amazing tones.

I see that this is the same pedalboard case that you used for your GT-10.

Since you have all this amazing stuff now, will you still continue to use your POD and GT-10?

  • @udayvirgarg22 Oh yes, actually I had to go back to the GT-10. The G-system was not working out for me. There were a few things that the GT-10 did that i really missed and found out I could not do without. The G-System is a killer unit for sure and I know it's not even in the same class as the Gt-10. However for me, it did not do what I needed. I guess I'm just too picky!!

  • very nice tone and you are a great guitar player.

  • @blueskyvideonews Thank you very much

  • I'm planning to play live performances in various places, and I need the most versatility. I'll be plugging straight into the PA system through an XLR, and I need a unit with both good amp modeling and good stomp modeling. I play at church, so I need tones for anywhere between Lincoln brewster to Hillsong. I won't be using a tube amp, so I will be depending heavily on the preamp for my tones. Would the Boss GT-10 suit my needs or will the POD X3 LIVE?

  • @guitartone95 I would check out the GT-10. It's more durable and the stomp models are very good IMO.

  • @extremevideopro Does the Gt-10 have a more realistic/better tone quality than the Pod X3 Live? More than stomp models, I am looking for a unit with good sound qualities. I want the feel of an amp while directly plugging to the board. Will the Pod x3 live be better for this or the Gt-10? Thanks for your help!

  • @guitartone95 It's going to be hard to get the feel of an amp with these things. Both of them have pretty good tones. The X3-Live has more Output option like XLR outs.

  • dude can i ask u for john petrucci effect can it done on the Live X3?

  • Glenn you should be using the 4CM so you can use the your great Traynor amp preamp. The 2cm you are currently using you are passing the whole dist + effects through the preamp, and some effects won´t sound as they should. 4cm will give you a more organic tone as the the dist + ovdr will pass through the preamp (just like connecting the pedals through the input) and all the effects through you poweramp stage via the fx loop.

  • @Fender308 I know but I've tried & tried & tried again to use the 4CM and I just can't get a good sound. It has to do with the Traynor FX loop not being serial. Also when I use the 4CM I get tons of hissing noise. 4CM just does not work good with this amp.

  • why arent u using the 4 method cable with the gsys??? does it make a real diference?? or is it just necesarry if ur using the amps dist./od..???

  • @MassimoPetrucci That's a good question. You know i tried the 4CM but for some reason I could not get a good sound. I think it had something to do with my amps effects loop not being serial or something like that. All I know is it sounds very, very good in front of this amp. Other amps may be different I guess.

  • thank's bro.

  • man, really tempted.and the more i look at this thing the more iwant it.but what to do with the gt-10 and everything i got for it?i was thinking in getting the nova drive in front of my tube amp and just use the gt-10 in the loop of the amp.that way i'll stop messing with all the sims and get to playing. what you think bro?

  • @bossgtdiez10 I kept my GT-10 for direct recording. You just can't beat it. From metal to country it's very cool. For live though this rig is sweet. Even though I am using the Nova Drive. I would not recommend it right now. It's very buggy and it's noisy as well. You really should look into other distortion boxes for the front of your amp. I would suggest looking at Zvex, Wampler, and Majik Box, just to name a few. Also Vox Satchurator and the new ICE9 by Vox.

  • hey glen?does the g put those distortion pedals in front of the amp.and the rest in after you're pre amp?

  • @bossgtdiez10 Hey bro, yes it does. There are many ways you can route the distortions.

  • wow !!! great demostration, great unit too,

  • Glenn that pedal is PERFECT for the blues based stuff you are doing as well as any rock stuff as well.

  • @jerseyrawkgtrst Yeah I'm really loving the G-System and what it can do. Waiting for my custom Nashville Tele to come in and I'll be set !! :)

  • You finally bought the G-System :) How is it working out for you? Wow factor?

  • @PatrikForLife It's great, I'm about to really put it through it's paces on a 6 week mini tour. I'm sure it will be fine though.

  • The stickers are the best part! Great Job again Glen.

  • Nice set up, Glenn, and great sound. Thumbs up!

  • @juancarlosportillog Thank Juan

  • stone temple pilots?

  • @billygreg1984 Yes STP!!

  • I am smellin like a rose that somebody gave me, cause I'm dead and bloated.

  • hi glenn,

wanted to let you know about gearmanndude on youtube, he does a lot of reviews of pedals. I bought one of his luthor drive distortion pedals and its killer. Check him out!

  • @trevinor3 Oh yeah I know about him and I've seen many of his videos. I didn't kn ow he had his own pedals though. Will have to check that out.

  • just got a new tube amp.nothing special i'ts a bugera v22 but clean channel is realy good only 1 12xa7 in the pre-amp so i was really considering the nova system (don't need all that power for what i do)even though i'ts tempting.glad you likeing it though.

  • @bossgtdiez10 Man this new format sux bigtime!! Why don't they work out all these bugs before thrusting this upon us youtubers.

  • @extremevideopro I hear you there,for a moment i had to really look a the new format just to post a comment.LOL.

  • @extremevideopro Yeah, this new format sucks!!

  • @bossgtdiez10 Hey bro, what's up?? Yeah I traded my Traynor K-4 for the G-system. Hey the Nova Drive is a pretty good pedal and it integrates well with the G-System.

Still waiting to hear if "The End of Me" will make it to the movie.

  • Hey Glen great stuff!!! I just purchased the Nova System to run with some pedals and my Marshall JVM410h head. G System coming in the fall as i just want to get my feet wet a bit first being a Pedalboard user for so long.

That being said may I suggest a KILLER Boost/Overdrive Pedal for you that I think you will love called the Doug Aldrich Rocket Fuel by a company called Majik Box. I think you would love it!!

    All The Best:

    Doug

  • @jerseyrawkgtrst Thanks Doug, I will check out that pedal.

  • Another great video Glen.

  • @guitargogden Thank you

  • Another great job but THIS NEW YOUTUBE FORMAT SUXXXXXX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @syrinxdude I know it sure does.

  • TC VS GT-10 ??

  • @MikeyGee001 LOL, No Contest!! Mikey

  • @extremevideopro

For the GT I assume ?!?!?

  • you are the best guitarrist that I never seen, you realice a good job recording those videos, I learn ALOT just watching! thanks!!! keep going bro!!!! 100% sup

  • Great! please, show more your G-system!

  • Really cool. Make sure the album is available online, I'll get a copy.

  • @Sydpart2 Thank you, I will

  • Another great vid and great to hear some STP riffage:D

  • what, no gt10 anymore?

I've been wanting to get that pinnacle 2 for awhile now

  • @mrkyt77 Go get it man, It's a great pedal. I had to wait 6 weeks for that darn thing but it was worth it.

  • Some people are saying that running OD or DST pedals in the loops of the g-system degrades their sound. Is this true?

  • Oh no, not with my rig it doesn't. I think it depends on how you hook it to your amp.

  • Very nice and incredible sound. :-)

  • Thank you.

  • hey glenn if you ever change rigs again consider the eleven rack i have heard so many good reviews on it. This thing sounds awesome tho. i might post a vid of my new rig

  • hey Taylor, Oh yes I know of the Eleven Rack. It is very nice indeed. I'd love to demo one.

  • @extremevideopro id love to hear you demo one, most of the demo's of the eleven rack on youtube are no good. Cool rig btw, Mr Vai uses one of these lol

  • Oh yeah I know, It seems lately every time I see some live concert the guitarists are using these things.

  • @extremevideopro yea haha guess simpler and easier to use is better for live or Studio. i

  • What do you use to record?

I use Cubase LE 4 and its terrible

  • I use Cubase SX3. I have been using Cubase for about 18 years. I started using Cubase when computers only came with 2 MB of RAM LOL. I'm so old! LOL

  • Why terrible? Cubase is good software for audio editing and recording. :-)

  • He is probably referring to the LE versions. These versions usually come bundled with certain products and are a pretty stripped down version of the full blown Cubase.

  • Oh, I forgot this. Yes, LE version are lighter and it hasn´t all of the effects, function and other things like full Cubase. :-) But for easy and simply recording is LE version good too. :-)

  • Are you giving up the GT-10?

  • Nope, I still use it for studio recording and as a back-up system.

  • Amazing sound!!! really loved the VID

  • Thanks, I really only slightly touched on the sounds. i hope to do a more "in-depth" video as soon as my album is completed.

  • I wish i could afford this crazy expensive pedal board!!!! Plus,

Steve Vai uses G system as well, right?

U hav very graet skills as well as gears

  • Well, I actually traded one of my amps for the G-System. yes they are a bit pricey. Steve and lot's of other players use the G-System.

  • Hey Glenn, hav u ever tried Line 6 M13 before? Any ideas?

  • i love the nova drive! :D Thanks for the video! :)

  • Thanks Torsten.

  • Awesome sound Glenn, good luck with your CD :)

  • Thank you

  • You should try the G-Force too !

  • oh yeah Glenn I am having a cutom head built man when its done i will make a vid for it

  • Cool man I'd love to see it.

  • great video dude sub to my channel man i do reviwews to

  • Another great demo, Glenn, thanks. Looking forward to the blues CD, too.

  • Thank bro
