the only thing that could be tweaked is that as the movies go on, the original music kind of fades away.... you know? i mean, this music is like so good i actually checked my surroundings to make sure i was still in wichita falls, tx but does everyone remember those so familiar notes of the first few seconds of harry potter 1? i wish it was still obvius to hear it... i mean it is.... just not THAT obvius.... please comment if you know what i mean! i am realy not trying to put this song down. I remember being back in 3rd grade, back when HP wasn't as popular. I was in the library, strolling around looking for a book. (I'm a huge bookworm, since the age of 3) I wanted a pretty cover, not an "ugly" one like the Harry Potter book I passed by. I was tired of reading thin books though, and I wanted a challege. I grudgingly took it, and was completely immersed to the book for the next few days. HP took me into an adventure I'll never forget, I'm glad I was born the year I was born.

@PrincessGlowingStar hey same here. I was in 3rd grade and my class went to the library. The first Harry Potter book was new and the book was to long, so nobody wanted to read it. So I took the book because I was a teachers pet and also I wanted to prove to everyone I was smart. It took me half a year to finish the first book, but it was worth it and truly amazing.

No disrespect to Alexandre Desplats, but choosing him over John Williams for the next movie shows you how much of a joke WB is. Movies 4, 5 and 6 had decent music, passable on my scale, but nothing memorable like John WIlliams composed for the first 3 movies.

Hooper was average IMO, like I said before, passable, Williams was much better for me, not my fault you have terrible taste. And yes I've listened to Desplat's Benjamin Button and Twilight scores. Benjamin Button was ok, Twilight score was terrible. Williams >>> Desplats, their respective careers, even just the past decade of it, are proof enough of this.

I agree 4, 5 and 6 had decent music. Even some soundtracks better than John William's. Most from 6: when ginny kissed harry, dumbledores farewell, harry and hermione and in noctem are good examples. But yes, John Williams has the best. And he is the best composer.

Plus look what Desplat had to say about how he is going to compose Part I : "I would take every opportunity to use the fabulous theme written by John Williams. I'd say it is not sufficiently used in the latest movies, so if I have the opportunity and if the footage will allow me, I will arrange it . I shall make it with great honour and pleasure."

@initotwinit PoA had the worst soundtrack...what were medieval tunes doing in that film?? the marauders were the main focal point in that film (cuaron killed them...grrr...jkr didn't), so the music of PoA should've been something like OotP, rock'n'roll, and silly, suiting the marauders, not some sappy medieval tunes, which were completely pointless...
