  • Nice job! Might you have a cappella sheet music for "Dobbin's Flowery Vale" or know where I can purchase it? Thanks!

    Kathryn

  • you rock.

  • Great job, especially on baritone! What part do you usually sing?

  • Like others also said, you should sing this with Lauren, (because) The Tune-part doesnt entirely lie well on you range (i dont know if that is the right way to say what I mean, cause I'm not a native speaker in English, as I'm from the Netherlands)

  • oh boy. you are legit the coolest person i know!!! :D

  • This was very helpful. I am singing the soprano for this!

  • this is beautiful and touching and awesome. I have no clue how anyone can dislike this piece of art

  • does your mic Handle High Soprano

  • what is your mic??does it handle high soprano??

  • very soft.. and beautiful..

  • Wow YOUR SO GOOD!!!!!!

  • great work!! so good

  • I can only underline what the others said: It's realy, realy great!!

  • Great, wir singen das Lied gerade im Chor, das ist echt der Hammer ;-)

Und nebenbei noch super zum üben

  • this may be wierd, but I actually like your sound as soprano better than alto :P

  • Greetings from Finland :) You sound so good. You should not be unhappy, even if you are not as good as Jussi, no one is <3

  • Wow! AWESOME! You have an extremely awesome voice! And this video is extremely awesome! :D:D

  • wow, you are the greatest person ever

  • @srry4beatinu Haha - wow. Thanks!

Also, I like your reason for needing to learn Finnish!

  • @michaelsaunders77 the best part of that is, she is the one who recommended this video :D. things arent going well though, but still, we both love tis video, its awesome!!

  • I just discovered "Butterfly" in a choir rehearsal which left me speechless and a little breathless ;-) And now your superb multi-track idea and performance. It might be less than perfect, but hey, it's still awesome, and the range of your voice is impressive.

  • nice one, Mia Makaroff is my mother btw (:

  • @Flokked Wow, well I wasn't expecting that! Armottoman osa is definitely my better recording of a song she wrote. Oh, and I just downloaded The Lament from Rajaton's new album.

  • @michaelsaunders77 nice :) ye, she's been extremely busy with composing the last few weeks, so it's nice she got "the lament of my heart" and "kaivo" out to rajaton :)

  • @Flokked

    everybody can say that...

  • hello this is very good! how did you get the music for it meaning the sheet music? i have been looking for this song everywhere and i couldnt find it.

  • your falsetto is extremely impressive.

have you ever considered re-recording this with lauren singing the soprano/alto parts?

  • @zoomyzoomy123 Thanks! My falsetto tuning is definitely better in my most recent video. I don't know if I'll ever get around to rerecording Butterfly, but I'll be including Lauren on some future multitrack videos!

  • Man, this is great!

  • well done :)

  • Well done, very cool and well sung.

  • haha nice

    love this song

  • omg

  • this is awesome. :)

  • corrrrnnnnny!

  • Well I see where you're coming from - I'm not a fan of the lyrics. But it's worth it for such great music, eh?

  • Could you possibly post each clip of you singing separately? I've been trying to learn this and it would be very interesting to see. You do such a fantastic job!

  • you have a beautiful voice :)

  • Woo! That was amazing. I'm a big fan of Rajaton, and I think this sounded almost better than the original one. Bravo! I'll definitely favorite this. :)

  • Cool! Молодец)

  • @korolchukpp Thanks! I don't think I've ever been complimented in Russian before!

  • I thought that was wonderful,it sounded just like Rajaton.

  • I am such a fan of this song, and you do it more than justice, you really rock it. Wow. Kudos. And I'm already engaged but will you marry me :)

  • This is pretty good dude. And must have been a fun project

    Keep it up ;D

  • Oh my gosh... How could you sing all the voices? You have amazingly large register... Are you a tenor or a baritone?

  • Thank you! Here I'm singing in falsetto for the 1st and 2nd soprano and some of the alto part. So I guess it isn't in my official "range". I would say I'm a baritone.

  • Do you have a girlfriend? Because you're pretty cute :)

  • wow good job. I've recorded with myself and I know how hard it can be!

Just curious, what order did you record the parts in?

  • Thanks! I think I recorded this from bottom up (ie. bass through soprano, then the solo). I'm not sure though - this was 6 months ago.

  • Thanks. All that training from the TCC shows :-)

  • Thanks! I don't have lots of time to record with her because we're at different universities on different schedules. At some point I'll release another video with just me that I've been working on. I'll try to make it better than this one though.

  • Very nice! Why didn't you have Lauren in this one? Not that there's anything wrong with your voice... just that I like the combination of both your voices

  • this is awesome mate. which video editor did u use to create the multiple windows?

  • I used Corel VideoStudio 12. I've heard that programs in the Sony Vegas series and the Adobe AfterEffects series also have this capability.

  • OOOOOH MY GOD! you're fantaaaastic! well...no better than them u know...but seriously... WOW!!!!

  • Hey! You're awesome! :D Where did u manage to get the scores from?

  • this video is fantastic. :)

can i ask, how did you learn the music? did you have the score or did you learn it by ear?

  • Thanks! I bought the score for this one. But I'll upload one soon that I figured out by ear :)

  • nice work ... thumbs up

  • this is fantastic. i dream about doing this with this song or other songs. except i don't have the time to extract every part, nor the equipment to record it.

(and i fear my female voice wouldn't reach all the way to the bass part)

    well done mr saunders!

  • Great work! Thx from Germany.

  • wow... thats amazing

  • REALLY COOL :P *Subscribes*

  • umm all of them are you right???

Or u have brothers that look like 100% Like you? XDDDD

  • I have a special interest in this for I have worked on this song with Rajaton. What a beautiful song!

  • You have a nice voice but you'll still have to practise singing on the note better. It IS good even now but everyone can get better ;) Good job anyhow!!

  • Yeah, you're right. I should have spent more time and recorded enough takes to make sure the tuning was good everywhere. I did that for my other video. The tuning's better for that one.

  • good job bud, you did an amazing job. hope to see another one out soon lol. keep up the great work

  • this is incredible.

  • WOW very good job amazing range you must have

  • I can't imagine how did you keep the rhythm with every part ?Or you just have too good programs that fit's all the parts.

    I'm waiting your answer :)

  • First I sing the bass. Then I play that in my headphones while I record all the other parts.

  • ok, first the bass, but it's very hard to keep rhythm even with the one voice, so do you use the metronome?

  • Yes, if I don't want the speed to change I can put a click track in my headphones. I think I used it for this one. But for my other video I wanted a flexible tempo, so I didn't use a click track.

  • Anyway that's really cool :)

  • you are great you shld teach me somthings did you use any plugins ?

  • @Acecustomsinc

Thanks! For this song the only functions that I used to change the sound were reverb and equalization. Both of those are included in Cubase.

  • i have nuendo kinda the same but i use waves would truereverb work & do you dub every thing or are they all one takes!!

  • I did more than one take for most of the parts. The video is all from the first takes.

  • Very nice Michael! Nice to see you've kept with it after the TCC. I expect nothing less from a head chorister.

  • you have a very nice voice. good job!

  • Very entertaining. How did you record this video? I would love to do one of my own :P

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it! First I recorded all the parts. Then I edited and mixed the sound. Then I edited the videos to have all 6 of me on the screen at once. I've given info in the description on the specific tools and programs I used for each step.

  • this is really well done. Props to you

  • nice. good job.

  • wow :O

  • awesome.

  • I don't know what too say. It's funny, it's scary, it's colorful (literally), and it's beautiful as well.

Geez, I didn't know that Shia Labeouf can sing.

  • Hahaha - thanks! I promise the next one will be even scarier.

  • Whathehell. I love this video, im serious :O

  • nice man! Look forward to more stuff. Dan is right on the Melody sounding a little odd, being so low. But it's fine, cause you sang the melody nicely despite

  • Thanks! I'll try to avoid transposing for future videos.

  • Nice job! I expect to see collaboration videos from you and Rendezvous members, soon :).

  • How creative!!!! This is AWESOME. I also want to know where you got the sheet music from this. I'm not good enough to pick out the harmonies by ear. Again, great job!

  • Nice job man. Some of the octave adjustments I'm not used to hearing obviously haha, but well done. Audio sounds very polished.

  • Thanks! I took your advice and got my sister to sing with me on my newest video.

  • Nice work! Something seems a little funny, maybe because this man is singing about butterflies in his low range haha.. kind of was expecting a soprano. :)

  • Thanks, Dan! As you suggested my newest one (Kaipaava) now uses an actual soprano.

  • Great song, and nice job! Maybe your shouldn't be singing those treble parts, though ;)
