Thankfully my husband received a "Dear John" letter while on his mission. Then after 6 months out we started writing each other. We were friends from YM/YW. We have been married for 18 years of our eternity. Hopefully you find the happiness you deserve for your sacrifice for others.

I think it was a good thing you made this video. It gave you a great chance to really think about how you really feel about going on a mission. I know chosing to go was an awsome choice. And finding a reasonable and kind way to tell your girlfriend that you really wanted to go withouth hurting hir was very smart and caring. YOU ROCK!!!

this was a while ago when i posted this comment. I can understand her not wanting him to leave, but I still stand by my original post, she should know it's the right thing to do, and chances are she will still end up with some other guy. it's the cycle of missionary girlfriends.
My bassist and one of my best friends in my band went to boot camp for the National Guard, and is going to serve a tour of duty in Iraq but his girlfriend isn't leaving him. I think if a girlfriend is serious, she should wait.. If my bassist's girlfriend can do it, with the risk of him getting killed halfway across the world, anyone can.
If your girlfriend deserved you she would be proud that you want to go on a mission. Hopefully you won't be seeing this message for another year and ten months! Good luck!
Well, i'm putting in my papers. This is a project for college. I am young in my class for high school, so i had to wait a year. so now i've gotta finish up my associates and hope to be out by september '08.
