no you don't.... but without it you start from scratch (40 overall) and you probably won't get drafted the first time, and get cut in training camp.... you will end up playing a few games in the d-league where you have to get a good grade (around an A) for a few straight games.... when you do, you'll get an offer from an NBA team, which will try you out for 10 games and sign you for a year if they like you...

no the draft combine is just like 2k10s my player mode but the (dc) is the same but you cant get drafted until you buy 2k10

OK, so what Draft Combine was used for, you buy it from the PSN (or XBL) and you create your player, and you put him through scrimmages. You work on your skills and play good. You especially have to get a good grade from your teammates or no one will draft you. It's mostly to get your player a head start for 2K10, but from what iv'e heard, it's not really worth it. But you can try it if you want to, i think the Draft Combine thing is like 5 bucks. Yes My Player comes with the PS3 version.

I bought 2K10 and my friend has live and 2K10 is way better. Much more fluent. And yes you can take away the stamina meter in options

Iv been buying NBA 2K since day one, but I'm hearing all these issues on 2k Forums about frame rates dropping and how it lags every possession OFFLINE. Any one have these issues on the PS3? 69.99 for a game is a lot, don't want to buy it yet until it's fixed :O.

The framerate does drop more then it did in 2K9. If you love the series I think you can bear with it, though I agree, for the money they ask, they should not have this problem. It doesn't happen every possession, I've gone 3 quarters without having it happen, then it'll happen a few possessions in a row and stop for a bit.

the lagging and frame rate issues are in the pc version as well, its not the consoles systems, its the way they wrote the game codes, it still has to be fixed with a patch

Both are comparable. I only played on 360 and thus can only speak to the lag I experienced on XBL. Perhaps it will run better on PSN. Regardless, with only a handful of people hitting the 2K servers before the game shipped, there shouldn't have been any lag. I can't imagine what it will be like when there are thousands of people playing at the same time now.
