  • lol try to tell some1 to crop their dobes ears in sweden because it's illegal here and they will start telling you what a bad person you are. Imo Dobes looks awesome in both cropped and not but i'm gonna have to go without because of the law here .

  • You have a beautiful dobie cropped ears or not absolutly beautfiul. I agree with either way. All of our Dobies ears have been cropped but thats just cause thats what we like if the dogs were in too much pain we wouldn't do it.

  • he* xd

  • haha she just drinkin xD cute

  • Dobermans look horrible with their ears cropped, It's illegal to do it in England, we can't even have the tails removed. With a few exceptions they can be removed. It's weird seeing a doberan now with a long thick tail.

  • leave him alone, its the owners choice whether or not to crop &/or dock the tail or leave the ears & tail natural. I think your dog is pretty & he looks happy & healthy to me which is supposed to be the most important thing.....oh & by the way, love the car!!!

  • Cute. Nice to see a Dobie w/o cropped ears.

  • my dog looks the same, great breed

  • cool Dobe!! I'm starting see more of them now. They were so popular in the 70's and 80's.last week i saw a breeder with 6 pups at the vet getting vaccinated.Growing up our neighbor had two of them (peanut & butter)wonderful dogs!!

  • man what a all american video!

    beautiful doberman

    Cuda (oh baby)

and a classic cute neighbor hood with kids riding bikes, and green green grass.

    very cool!

  • My dobie's have floppy ears and I think they are just great :)

    Lovely video r71cuda

  • We're currently looking into a Doberman or possibly German Shepard...love both breeds. I think the Doberman would be less maintenance with the shorter hair...any pro's or con's you want to share. Your dog looks great...cropped ears aren't the only option, looks like a great, playful member of the family!!

  • there both smart and intilligent doggi

  • Dobies bark less. If that helps.

  • Krombie1313, YOUR A MORON!

    1. CROPPED ears INCREASE the chance of an ear infection.

    2. A Doberman's ear canal goes straight down, and the ear is the only thing that protects it from dirt.

    3. Cropping AND docking is extremely painful for animals.

How would you like it if someone came and carved up your ear for a fashion look?

  • First off, they do increase the chance, but not all dobermans have problems with their cropped ears if you keep the dog clean in general. Now, vets give minor pain medications to help with the pain, doing it as puppies is common. It is a common practice and vet practices are skilled in these types of procedures. Sometimes you don't have a choice about cropping or docking. We rescued our dobbie. He's both cropped, docked. he has NO problem whatsoever with his ears. It's extremely safe today.

  • My dog does that with the air compressor XD

  • My dobie eats the water too!!! I love the chomping sound they make!!! Goofy dogs!!

  • Crop those ears! Reason 1: you reduce the chance of ear infections since bacteria dont have a dark, moist area to breed, like the inside of a dogs floppy ear. Reason 2: Someone looks in your window and sees a D/C Doberman, there moving on to the next house. Cropped Dobies look not only show worthy but also mean. Do you want a friendly looking dog proteting your property?

  • gotta reply to this...quote"Cropped Dobies look not only show worthy but also mean. Do you want a friendly looking dog proteting your property?"what a load of garbage..you qualified in security?that is a good looking family dog.dogs dont have to look mean!only owners want that!

  • WOW, how did I miss this comment. First off, we did not buy our Dobe for security, we bought him for a family pet and we choose not to crop his ears because we have kids, our neighbors have kids, & a lot of our friends have kids and we did not want them to be afraid of the dog. As for protection, anyone looking in the windows and seeing or hearing him bark will be moving along anyways, cropped ears or not.

By the way, he's 5 yrs old now and guess what? No ear infections. ;)

  • what a shame to leave those ears un cropped...

  • It's personal preference to crop or not. opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. my dobe went through hell when i had his ears cropped 5 months ago. i love his look yes, but getting part of your ear removed then walking around with tape on your head for a month sucks! for those think it's the only way for a dobe to be i understand. i grew up with dobes and they were always cropped. but i love em either way and it IS very stressful on the dog. i'd never put another dobe through it again.

  • Yeah, I don't think so. Buy yourself a dobe and crop his ears if you want. Mine is staying natural.

  • Our Doberboy does this too. I have a video of him doing it too.

His ears are cropped, we got him from the local shelter. He's about 2 yrs old and he had cropped ears when we got him. They haven't drooped and no ear infections. He's the sweetest boy and is spoiled rotten, but he does have a mean bark.

  • @r71cuda I agree with keeping them natural.. while it's part of the "breed" some would say, I find that people aren't as intimidated by her. Which is important since Gracie is also a family dog. Why do people insist on us cropping them? They are OUR dogs! I don't tell people what to do with theirs!

As for ear infections... it's called pay attention to your animal! Grace hasn't had any yet and we clean her ears all the time..

I LOVE THIS VIDEO. He's beautiful!! (Gracie is identical only female)

  • Dang that's a beautiful dobie. Love the fact that his ears are not cropped!

  • I agree with you. If the ears are cropped that tells people the dog bites, or is a very mean. Leave the ears uncropped.

  • Well if you go through life thinking like that than i suppose any doberman you see lying on a white fluffy pillow means he's gentle. that's the most ridiculous thing i ever heard. he bites because his ears are cropped.... lol
