I think the first season was way better than the second. I still wish they wouldn't have cancelled it though, I think this show really had potential. And Juliet's character wasn't written out, the actress who portrayed her checked into a rehabalitation clinic or something and was unable to return. They made quite a few mentions of her in the second season though so she was still 'around'.
