My opinion as an singer is: you must know how far you can go. If they put you on that stage to sing when you know you're sick, then you shouldn't be out there. Actually Epstein barr virus is not rare at all and is commonly referred to as "Mono" or mononucleosis, it can cause swollen glands but as far as it affecting just the vocal chords your wrong....it affects the whole body and it is far from rare. Peace :o) Jammie
