Heavy rain on the friday flooded the airfield and the car parks forcing the organisers to cancel the saturday on safety grounds . Further rain on the saturday forced them to cancel the sunday too :(

I would pay a weeks paycheck just to go out and launch an F-4 on a cold morning. Love standing off to the side during a launch surface check. The smell of JP4 out of a J-79, is the smell of victory.

@KD5XB smokeless mod?you mean put filters in the engines to draw the exhausts?this plane seems really bad for the environment.

@frizstyler No, not filters. They put different burner cans in teh engines. The new cans produce a hotter fire which eliminates most of the smoke.

And if you think this is a lot of smoke, you should take a look at the early jet airliners!

it was nice to see it do a couple of go arounds before landing, usualy they just land on first approach. lovely plane and it is a very big shame they never display it. thanks for putting it on.
