  • great lesson but you confused me with your numbering of strings, but yet nice tutorial

  • thanks i learned allot

  • I didnt know Joe Pesci taught guitar.

  • Super lesson man!!! I salute you. Jimmy himself would be proud. For those of you who are sensitive about which string he is referring to...SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! Enjoy the lesson and be grateful that more experienced guitarists are putting up these cool videos to show you how to play classic songs like this. Remember back in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's people had to learn to play songs by ear or books which is ALOT harder than the comforts of youtube. Would you be bitching about mistakes then?

  • You guys stop complaining. He was nice enough to post it.

If your so worried about the strings. Than you better teach.

  • Thank you. that was great.

  • Nice thanks a lot

  • nice, thanks!

  • @riseRock....also of note: u claim that this is an easy riff..therefore, u too must be a fairly good guitar player. Would someone who is unaccomplished at guitar make such a claim? So, the question then needs to be asked: were you here getting a guitar lesson as well?

  • @clay70 i started playing guitar a few moths ago and i suck really bad but yes i must say this is an easy riff. i learned it by ear, the only reason i watched this lesson is because i like seeing how other people play the same song in a different way

  • @riseRock....what a foolish comment...does a 20 yr veteran of guitar playing know how to play every single riff? thats what these wonderful videos are out here for..so we can take the quick and easy route and learn to play them asap....Thanks to Zosorange and everyone like him for posting these videos...(However, the high e is still the first string--hehe).

  • Thanks for the up close camera work.

  • man thanks , i liked it , am looking forward to get more lessons from you as you did it slow and explained it well just the way i need it to learn am an old zep fan forever

  • You are great! Thanks for the lesson!

  • Got the strings wrong!..not hating just telling the facts..

  • anyone notice that the two highest rated comments are by the same guy about the same thing?

  • @studman4250 commentception

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • That was well done sir. Very clear and concise. I learned it in less time it took you to teach it! Thanks!

  • i guess he means the 1st string closest to you? but anyways nice lesson

  • great lesson

  • The high E is string 1 ..not the 6th.

  • Holy shit! I just learn it. Thanks for cutting all the b.s. Like the others have on their vids here!

  • is that an epiphone, or a different gibson knockoff?

  • The backwards string reference fucks me up and makes the video useless. Learning by ear is easier....

  • Nice lesson, but you confuse me with your string numbering. Its backwards.

  • Thanks, man :)

  • thanks,..Ron Holt

  • Nice lesson.

  • nice lesson tommy... thanks

  • could u do a lesson on stanglehold by ted nugent ?????

  • Zosorange: First string is DEFENEVLY HIGH E...See ? Everybody talk about tunning is going to tell you the Big cord because if you are in Drop D ...you have to know drop and open tunning... AND FOR SURE...Chords are made from top (Low E) to bottom (high E). Anyway Really great video !!!! Thanks for showing us :)

  • oh my god man, you are now my hero.FINALLY someone who can actually paly cool stuff on guitar teaches us on youtube. thank you so much! :D

  • 1:30

well i was WAY off on that riff

    thanks for clueing me in

  • no your a fuckin retard this guy is a New yorker u dumb fuckin redneck

  • I think anyone can learn this from YOU! Thanks, love your stuff.

    And not everyone's a Guitar Hero, ottotobey......geesh!

  • Great lesson.

    Thanks!

  • i first watched this about a year and a half ago and its still in my opinion on of the best lessons on youtube

  • Thank you!!

  • A little bit patronizing for me, but great for beginners. Thanks a bunch

  • thanks man. good lesson

  • great help!

    Thanks

    great videos

  • Excellent!!!!!!

  • This was a really helpful and enjoyable video. I hope you are inspired to make lots more!

  • How odd. Ive been playing guitar for 20 yrs and have never heard the low E called the 1st string.

  • hahahaha

  • thats what hendrix called it.

  • @clay70 all depends on how you learned really.

  • @clay70 you are playing guitar for 20 years and you need a guitar lesson on youtube to figure out how to play a simple riff? Thats odd too isnt it?

  • @clay70 lol

  • @clay70 I too call it (low E) the first string, just because from my eyeball - it IS the first string!

  • @clay70 sometimes i call it that, just because its closest to the player

  • Comment removed

  • technically it is,

most people use the low fer the 1st

  • @clay70 i voted thumbs down by mistake

  • How about plugging your damn guitar into an amp so we can hear it...damn!!!

  • Great lesson! Thanks a lot. Five stars!

  • haha thanks but im still confused :(

  • I've only been playing for a little over a month, and i was able to nail this thanks to you! Awsome lesson. Wish more ppl took this much time out of their day to help others.

  • Is the guitar a Heritage? If so which one? H-157?

  • Muito bom..

    obrigado !

    Very good thank´s

  • Dude thanks so much for this lesson. There were parts to this song I couldn't find decent tabs for, and couldn't figure out by ear, and you cleared them up for me. Thanks again man!

  • So great, thank you!

  • i love you! Easily understood by goofs like me

  • Thanks! I use this too!

  • thanks a lot man, i couldn't figure that riff part out for the life of me and i feel so stupid now knowing how simple it was! great teaching...thank you.

  • Thanks for taking the time to do this. Nice job!

  • i bet nextdoor love that

  • Excellent lesson. I used to practice this song in a garage band. Great blues tune, originally written by Sonny Boy Williamson, modified by Jimmy Page.

  • Thx man that really helped! I loved the way you reapeated each step so we can get it!

  • some big parts are right, some little parts are wrong...

  • thanks a lot man it really helped me out

  • Yes it really was helpfull... thanks mate...

  • It's great!!!!

  • well ya... kinda ya.. I mean I can play Classical Gas, it's an easy song, I always wondered why people said it was hard...

  • o...

  • okay... whatever... I still don't get your point... a month passed by and I'm 100'000 times better now...

  • grazie 1000!!

    thank you very much

  • thank you so much, you just taught me my first song on guitar, AND ITS ZEP! your my hero. :)

  • oops sorry nevermind u are a good teacher really

  • u don't teach us the second part with the high notes u just play it a good teacher would now i cant play the full song thax a lot

  • MAN!You are the very best teacher i have yet come across here on utube. So easy to learn from your videos.Thank you so very much. And I hope you get everything you want when your birthday comes around.

  • hey how come I can't do that bend

2 to 4th fret, is it because I have nylon strings?

  • no I'm serious, why can't I do the bend! Is it because I have nylon strings?

  • "hey how come I can't do that bend

2 to 4th fret, is it because I have nylon strings?"

Yes. It's nearly impossible to do large bends with nylon strings.

  • no, I can do it now... just push with my three fingers and it works, but my guitar teacher tells to not do that on nylon strings, because I'm gonna break them, lol... he was unfortunately right...

  • even thought the way he said the numbers of the strings were wrong and completely opposite, he thinks the the A strung is the second, which is completely false it's the 5th, he reversed it, I can still get used to it, even though he makes that tiny mistake that everyone sometimes make... Thanks still you helped me, lol, for one part not the intro not the main riff, not the after high pitch riff, but the riff that is played while Robert sings... Always had problems just with tabs with that riff.

  • and still that riff was missing one part

    this part

    e:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    B:/3_2_x_x_x_x_x/3_2_x_x_x_x_x_

    G:/4_2_0h1_x_x_x/4_2_0h1_x_x_x_

    D:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    A:_x_x_x_x_x-x_x_x_x_x_x_x_x_0_

    E:_x_x_x_x_0_3b0_x_x_x_x_0_3bx_

    Thanks for helping still!

  • Fixed the characters up:

    e:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    B:/3_2_x_x_x_x_x/3_2_x_x_x_x_x_

    G:/4_2_0h1_x_x_x/4_2_0h1_x_x_x_

    D:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    A:_x_x_x_x_x-x_x_x_x_x_x_x_x_x_0_

    E:_x_x_x_x_0_3b0_x_x_x_x_0_3bx

  • again there is no bend for the second one

    like this

    A: x_x_0

    E: 0_3_x

but for the other one, yes there's a bend:

    E: 0_3b_0_x

just another helping tip, please take it as advice, not an insult, some people think that...

  • this video is awesome!! keep it up..i like your approach to teachin...it is medium pace plus you show us in detail how to do it!!! hat's off...

  • Thanks man.I appreciate your help and the patience it takes to help others learning rock guitar. It's very easy to follow. I've been learning since '75 when I got my 1st. accustic as a young teenager. These songs were still preddy new. A few decades later and a few guitars, and I still have so much to learn. This is very cool. Thanks to guys like you that take the time to teach people that may not have the coins to pay for an instructor. Right on! Stay young, and Keep rockin!

  • great lesson, thanks

  • thanks dude that helped alot

  • i wanto jam right now thanks man

  • whole lotta taping.... :P

  • Excellent teaching video for beginners like me man, don't pay any attention to these nit pickers about your srtings being backwards, man if you can't figure that out you should'nt be playing. Do you have any more?

  • who's nit picking? I wasn't even being an asshole about it, just mentioning that it'd probably be best in future lessons to just say the string order down. maybe you haven't read youtube comments of people being pricks or I would've sounded something like "hey stupid if you're going to give a so called lesson at least name the strings right and have some heart." I gave a simple heads up. damn.

  • huh?

  • Dude stop being so SENSITVE, damm im just here to rock, peace!

  • thx alot.:) but do u know how to play that last part?? when the song ends?

  • you say the strings reversed. the top/thickest string is the 6th string.

  • yes it is. the thickest string i the number 6

  • some are weird you know^^

  • becuz u r an idiot if u cant figure otu what he really means

  • no you dipshit I could figure out what he meant I just noticed he was calling the strings backwards. is that so fucking hard to get?

  • way cool!!!!!!!!!! thank man!

  • sweet g like game

  • sounds like the low e is out of tune

  • you sound like you're from delaware county

  • awsome bravo, i this helped me soo much

  • very nice, thanks

  • OMG can some1 tell me where to download this song cose i cant find it anywhere?

  • Buy the cd, or the individual song off iTunes. Zeppelin didn't create their music to have people like you rippin' it off the internet. Spend a little, get a little.

  • Well said! :D

  • Indeed

  • you better buy it or eter grant will come back from the dead, hunt you down, and shoot you himself

  • Ita 28 Year old fender acoustic

  • Late at night, being tired and a few beer's does not help the accent or the playing !!!!

  • Great teaching style. I thought I was back in Phil-a-delphia with that accent of yours!

  • I find that funny cuz I thought I was home too! I'm from philly so I knew he sounded familiar to me!lol! Anyway good lesson!

  • all around excellent! playing the lesson without the amp is a great idea.

  • thanks for taking your time and giving the best guitar lesson ive gotten 4 bring it.. like your attention to detail and way of speaking bro. good f in work. more zep brother, more zepp

  • great lesson, but instead of bending 4th string 2nd fret couldn't you just hit 4th string 4th fret?

  • yea but that takes the fun out of it. lol

  • haha

  • hey thanks for posting this

  • this really helped thanks

  • my lefthand started shaking when you went into that final amped up bit at the end there. such an awesome song

  • dude thanks so much for explaning this so clearly do u havce any more vids?

  • I've been trying to learn this via sheet music and tabs but couldn't get the finger placement correct. This made it a lot clearer and improved my playing. Thanks!!

  • I found this really helpful, but I always thought that the first string was the high E. I guess it doens't really matter because you make it clear in the intro, bring us more Zep lessons!

  • thx man ive been playin guitar for 2 years and i just heard that song a half hour ago and really dug it then i saw this link thx for the help!

  • good

  • look at our cover of this lol

  • Dude, thanks for that awesome lesson. I really liked the way you clearly explained things. Finally I am able to play the verses of the song.

Keep up those guitarlessons and the good work!

  • EVHStrat... Thank you for appreciating all the time it takes to do a video. If i help just one person out there then i consider my time and effort a success

  • I never played guitar before, never took lessons, and don't even own a guitar. (My younger brother does.) But, I'm thinking of learning and I must say, you did an amazing job because I'm actually playing something lol!

  • That why i do these video's !!! For the beginners and also to help some of thejimmy page fans out !! Thanks

  • hey, I was jamming with some friends last night and they heard the change in how I play this song right away. I used to play it differently, but it didnt sound right. I watched your video and they noticed the difference. Thanks for posting the video man, it really helped. Do you think you couls do a video on the Ocean? I can play it, but I dont know if its right. Thank you.

  • I know that you specify beforehand the nubers of each string, but my suggestion is that you number them the way the are supposed to be, just for the beginners who are still not sure of the string numbers.

  • Thats what happens when you work 80 hrs a week and then try to do a video at 1:30 am !! But you are correct

  • hey right around 5:03 i cant tell what frets/strings you're playing. could you post them in a comment?

  • are you playing on acouistic in the begining and is your les paul a gibson or epi?
