Stuermer just makes the part his own...i wouldn't expect anything but that from a class 'A' musician... for him to try to copy Hackettt exactly would be wrong and an injustice to Steve. IMO

Stuermer is a guitarist, Hackett is a musician, and this modern corporate version of Genesis is a bit too much for me, a Genesis listener since 1974. Both arguements are valid, I sit on the Hackett side as far as the melody of the solo is concerned, Mr Stuermer's is typical of his style,

Ok - I'm sure this guitarist is technically brilliant but he totally misses

the point on this solo. Yes - most guitarists can go blubidy blubidy

blubidy blub at the speed of light but no one wants to hear that here.

Hacket had the feeling to make this a pure magic masterpiece. There are far

better versions from tribute bands. I wonder why the lads keep him on...

Banks wrote the flute melody, not the solo. Hackett wrote the solo, which is inspired from the flute melody
