Second, it definitely seems like it's impossible to stay in close proximity to another human for an extended period of time without tensions occasionally flaring up over really silly things. It does seem that the best thing to do is wait for everyone to calm down, avoid pointing fingers, acknowledge any real problems that are there, then move past it. Everyone gets irrational when they're upset and everyone deserves to be forgiven for that. Good luck to you guys.

I haven't had a near death experience, but have been the first to apear in an accident, and it makes things clear, and you just want to tell everybody about the experience and all the thaughts surrounding it... that's what i felt, and it seems you react the same way... Because most of the time we concern ourselves with trivial things it amplifies their importance. When something happens that does matter like a close shave, trivial things suddenly look really trivial. As soon as that big thing is out of sight/mind we revert. Basically I think "clarity fade" comes down to relativity. Same with goals, I need to lose some weight but somehow I never give that goal the level of importance it deserves because in everyday life its importance is not highlighted.

Ah, the near-death clarity. I got that from falling out of trees, bicycle mishaps... those were productive and led me to action. Also got it in car accidents, where I could do nothing and I survived just through luck and/or well designed safety features. I hope your girl-related conflict gets resolved well, and that you remember how easy it is to place yourself in a deadly situation so that you avoid it in the future (like riding a robot down a mountain without a roll cage around you).
