What people need to understand is what a scientist means by a theory. @jystyle That was the original intent in democracy and it did work initially but democracy needs a well informed well educated public to work and we don't have that. If we did we would not have racist, religious and "conservative" parties. If this is ever to succeed we need to educate people and I don't mean collage education I mean real relevant philosophy. We need less academic theory and more pedagogical discussion. People not in academia have a negative perception of academia.

Over the past 2 weeks on various BBC news 'Have Your Say' sections referring to Politicians or Banks or the Economy I have mentioned Jacque and the Venus Project and everyone single one has been censored.

In the so called Democratic UK I live in I am forced by law to pay a licence fee for the BBC yet they wont allow anyone trying to bring TVP to peoples attention. Self interest Capitalism at its best !!

A lot of people must like the whole idea of you are messed up because of your environment. That way they have something to blame and it's not their fault. Well it is your fault if you are evil and you should know right from wrong. If it is the environment, why isn't everyone else crazy too? It is something chemically wrong inside the brain that happens to make someone crazy.

That's the problem, some people don't know any better. You can't say someone is evil if they don't know any better, its like putting little children in jail for stealing a candy bar. Even if people do know "better", they obviously do that "evil" deed for a reason. May it be for survival, revenge, or just personal satisfaction, all that is triggered by the environment as well.

ALL THAT'S BEING SAID is that the environment you're brought up in is the main factor that determines you're behaviour,it does not mean individuals are not responsible for thier actions.ALSO it is very simple to observe that your environment is the major factor that determines your behaviour ,but how this works and the way it affects individuals cannot be viewed with such simplistic thinking

Basically the project is focused on changing the enviroment and foundations of how humanity operates so that the inherent behaviors and choices people make are more suited to benefit everyone and people's understanding of society will not be so self interested and "abberent".

I think Fresco's view of abberent behavior is less about the indivudal and more about how the enviroment around such person could lead to such a problematic behavior.

nobody is saying that if a person steal of kill another person in not his fault...but if people grow up in a healthier environment like that of the venus project, the crime rates will be minimum to none...even the mentally ill people will be much less...and i bet you on that!!!

Even in the worst slums of Mumbai India you see that when people's basic needs are met, all the rest of life is a blessing. The kids play sticks ball and smile openly even in a disgusting slum. When society can provide for the indivudal all the things to live a safe, healthy life, peoples mentality change radically.
