I have to say that I've been burned by a few "tennis pros" who offer material online and then you buy it and find out that the pdf is like 20 pages or even less of generic info you could have got anywhere. However, I haven't even watched the dvd yet but I am currently reading the 60 page TennisGuru e-book and I'm very impressed. This time I definitely got value for the money I paid. Excellent stuff Guru...
Well...i tried his forehand tips..and i had an ok forehand before, but I was really ripping the ball, and for some reason, I didn't hit one ball in the net..hit a few long...but by and far i definitely had more control and more consistency...I don't know the science behind it, but so far so good...
Sorry I've taken so long. Hope this gets to you in time. Your best bet for these situations is to make your opponent hit as many balls as possible. Give them a chance to miss. I don't mean push the ball but be warmed up and stay consistent during the points. Don't try and blast winners. You can do that in practice once the season starts. For now just get yourself on the team. Good Luck. I hope you kick some butt. Clint
I use Semi Western. I would recommend a shoulder turn for the back swing of your two handed backhand. If you keep the racket in ready position it will almost do a loop for you when you turn your shoulders. There is no perfect way to do this as every ball comes over the net at a different height so your loop will be slightly different every time depending on where you make contact. I hope this helps. If you have any other question let me know. Best Wishes. Clint
Hey Clint, this is Boojay from the Talk Tennis TW Forum. I bet you've answered this question a kajillion times, since you can hit like a pro, how come you're not on tour? You're only 28 after all, right? Not due to injury, I hope. Keep up the awesomeness.
your straight arm on teh 2 handed backhand is wrong btw.
Also you need to tilt your racket more on your serve a bit in direction of ground about 4 or 5 more inches to get some more spin. You're a good player however and im sure there is good information in here.
you are an idiot. his straight arm backhand isnt the stroke. its the line up. from the moment he twists, he brings his elbows in to increase racket speed.
do you know nothing about conversion of angular momentum? the straight arm is for the torque. by making his backhand arm straight on his lineup, he creates torque and then brings his elbows into his body to increase the racket speed.
Finally an instructional that teaches modern tennis! This is by far the best tennis video I have seen, and I work in the tennis industry. Excellent instruction, based on the way the pros hit the ball today. Clint has great presence on camera, not to mention a killer forehand. Nice setting, cutting-edge production, cool graphics, very innovative, fun to watch. Can't wait to buy the full Tennis Guru DVD!
