Thanks for the upload below i had attached my VAWT please watch and give me some idea i am having Ambassador alternator 12v 50A alternator on hand in working state.Suggest me to charge my car battery with that VAWt. Thanks in advance
i really need your information on how to convert the alternator to low rpm as i have a lot of car alternators which normally require like you said 3000 rpm, please e mail me at billbyrdauto@yahoo.com
There used to be kits you could buy to install a second alternator on F150's and some Chevy 1/2 tons that could be used to power electric tools. It wouldn't always be 60hz but it would power some surprising things. The hardest part of doing this is finding snap-in parts and instructions, otherwise it's a simple as rebuilding an alternator.
Automotive alternators can be modified in several ways to make them useful for all types of operations. There is a set of low current field coils that create the magnetic field needed for current generation, a set of silicon rectifier diodes and an integrated voltage regular. If more excitation current is sent to the field coils, the voltage regular is bypassed and the diodes are swapped with low forward drop type, useful output can be achieve at very low speeds.
wanna know how to make a homemade low rpm generator c my videos ;o)

Even if you have low rpm, you will still need higher torque. 1hp = 746 watts.
If your generator runs 60 rpm, you will still need.:
5252/60=87.53 foot pounds of torque.
or about 630 gal of water per minute.
(87.53/8.33)*60)= 630.47

I would also like to know how to modify an automotive alternator for Low rpm output for use in hydro electric.
