Excellent tool. Fortunately, I had another computer running Windows XP. I downloaded and installed Bart PE on it, and I let Bart PE scanned for bootable partitions. Then, I selected the partition and Bart PE created the Windows XP bootable CD.

Then, I changed the BIOS boot sequence on the broken PC to boot from CD, and I was able to run chksdk from the DOS prompt, and recover a few bad sectors.

BTW - my broken computer couldn't boot up because a an UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT BSOD.

1. open taskmanager

2. click on ``new task`` and search for explorer.exe and run it.

there is another and very easy way to acquire this boot Disk...download the UBCD or Ultimate Boot Disk and you save time and effort from doing all this stuff.

1) Is this Boot Disk the same or work as well as the Recovery CD do in Windows Vista? Can I create a Recovery CD In Windows xp?

Why can't Microsoft provide boot-up disk that can downloaded then boot from CD Roms? I could only find floppy boot versions on their website. More machines are being produced that don't have a floppy disk drive.

I've followed your instructions and created a Media Output of Burn to CD/DVD.

The process has completed, and I am wondering as to what to do next.

Do I burn the file that BartPE created to a blank CD/DVD Rom?

If so, once done, do I just do the 'Boot From CD' option on my broken laptop with the Disk inserted?

i did over 50 install of xp befor and the xp disk you can boot with sonoyou the tard maby if you have win/me orolder you would need a boot flopy disk butt not with xp all that you need is one the xp disk
