  • i have a 6850 can i add say a 9600 gso for phyx i dont have a sli crossfire mobo just asking

  • Name of track please

  • Looks great and all, but still cant sufficiently power 3 monitors on an NVIDIA card, you'd need 2 cards to do that well. I've owned both AMD and NVIDIA, so don't start arguements. AMD Eyefinity is great with supporting multi-monitor displays, and is cheaper, but NVIDIA has the better drivers. All in all they both have pros and cons

  • @AmirFerrrsurrre Last time I checked you can run 3 monitors on a single 590.

  • @AmirFerrrsurrre That's because a 590 is 2 GPU's I believe, may be wrong, but I've read that in some places

  • Physx has been a dying technology since day one and only exists to segregate the PC market and force people too buy Nvidia, It's called stacking the cards in your favor. From a business stand point it was wise.

But because Nintendo Sony and MS all have plan to use AMD chips in their future consoles that leads me to believe developer support will drop and pretty much not exist. As a gamer this makes me happy because there will finally be better alternatives.

I do like the effect PhysX offer

  • @captaincough PhysX has been a PC exclusive feature since day one, and the number of game that use PhysX has never stopped growing. No body force u to want PhysX. But if anything forces u to buy Nvidia, its AMD, because they wouldnt provide an alternative choice, but they sell cards a little cheaper, from a business stand point it was wise, to real gamers, it's lame. And lol, what will be used in consoles have nothing to do with PhysX, because its for PC to make PC games better.

  • @growingup2204 Actually, the playstation 3 has PhysX buddy. Not that I'm a console fan. I'm a hardcore EVGA enthusiast. I just wanted to point that you were wrong about PhysX being only on PC

  • @ThatZaliaSGuy No, i'm right. In a few titles, yes PS3 has it because it uses nvidia gpu. But it doesn't always have it whenever the PC version has it. U dont have the exclusive PhysX effects of most PhysX games on Ps3.

  • @growingup2204 couldnt have said it better myself.

  • Too bad PhysX runs like shit in Arkham City.

  • @Durwood71 Really? I'm not having any troubles so far.

  • @Smoretoss

    you're not being honest,

DX11 has major problems in PC even until now. The developers of Batman AC is still in the work to fix DX11 problem.

IF you are NOT experiencing ANY troubles, that means your DX11 settings aren't turned on. For example, if you're playing on windows XP or vista, regardless your vidcards are DX11 ready and turning on DX11 settings, the game still will NOT run on DX11.

    please do NOT mislead people

  • @YeyNuma I'm being honest. I don't know what you consider a problem, but I'm running it fine with GTX 560.

  • Comment removed

  • @YeyNuma only XP, not Vista,

  • This a bullshitty comparison. The detail settings were reduced for the "Without"-Version.

  • @JrgHopeman

Indeed, I'm playing on a HD 5870, and the game looks far better than the non-Physx examples in the vid.

It's just bullshit from Nvidia to make you buy their cards.

I actually prefer the game without Physx (I have an original Ageia Physx PPU, so I have tried it), all that clutter and shit flying around just annoys me so I turned it off.

  • @camhottylover I agree dude. I have a 460 gtx and an older quad and I run just about every game at default high or ultra minus physx. Smoke and fluttering animations aren't enough for me to lose 10 frames and have to deal with stutter. Even my buddies with 6870s seem to have stutter and problems with the stuff I do.

  • I have GTS 250 and I'm playing this all maxed out ( ofc with OpenCL high ) around 21FPS and I rather this than playing on xbox or ps3

  • i bet all the people that are like "I would actually prefer the version WITHOUT, other one seems like a lot of mess and unimportant effects that are disrupting my focus."

and crying about phsyx dont have the power to run it. sucks for you because its awesome. its not game changing but it is beautiful.

  • NVidia really needs to drop this dedicated physx shit. DX11 can handle all of the effects that they are rendering with PhysX

  • I would actually prefer the version WITHOUT, other one seems like a lot of mess and unimportant effects that are disrupting my focus.

  • OpenCL < PhysX

  • PLS CAN SOMEONE HELP ME

DOES THE PS3 VERSION OF BATMAN AC HAVE SMOKE OR MONEY FLOATING ... YOU GET IT RIGHT

  • @dayan1234561 From what I gather, only PC does that since PC can hold more data when playing than PS3 or Xbox360.

  • @thedoctorwho07 thanx man then i will wait for the pc version

  • @dayan1234561 No it don't it and it never will, maybe on the next gen console like ps4 and xbox 720

    No offense console gamers

  • @MrLaughingbaby thanx man then i will wait for the pc version

  • @dayan1234561 No problem

  • Also, thumbs down on this vid because it has too many (subtle) spoilers!

  • People who argue about which console or if PC is better are just haters.

Here's the trick: Have them ALL. Don't be a broke ass waiting for your mommy to get it for your for Christmas, then hate on everyone else for having a different or better system.

Grow a pair. You fan boys are such a bunch of fucking losers, jerking off looking at your console/PCs.

  • I'm sorry, but it looks like they purposely changed video settings for the "Without GTX" Video.

  • Comment removed

  • I'd love to be able to play this or any game but my Geforce 550TI GTX keeps crashing on me every time i try to play a game.

  • So basically it makes shit fly around everywhere?

  • @TheDannyoffthewall not really, if you look a little more closely at the video it basically adds more loose object, for example, it make the curtains fly, more sparks, smoke effect, add loose papers, ect.

  • physx just adds bunch of crap on the floor lol

  • batman akham asylym i can max settingd smd physX high with gtx560ti SLI, so if anyone is attemp to buy gtx560ti SLI i say go for it

  • @m4ht1sonni I just got a 560 TI Hawk and it was DOA. So I had to RMA. Then I was thinking, "wouldn't it be great if I got another and waited on the RMA to complete so I would have 2 of them?"

So I went to purchase another and they were out of stock. Now I'm not sure what what I will end up with until newegg gives me my options.

  • @Postulio71 DOA and RMA?? sry don't know what that means, but gtx560 ti SLI is awesome, i mean in moh 2011 Multiplayer i get 150 fps average max settings 32x AA

  • @m4ht1sonni

DOA = Dead on Arrival (Broken/and didn't work when Recieved)

RMA = Basically, it means you return it and get a replacement. :)

  • @Postulio71 You should be able to just buy a regular 560ti and sli it with your "special edition" as long as the HARDware is the same, and they run at the same MHZ, Memory, etc... you'll be fine.

Doesn't matter about the casing. You could wait and be safe...but a regular one should be fine as well.

  • why does this need physx? oh right because nvidia payed a crap load of money.

  • I'd love to play that with my GTX, But even on my GTX590 it over heats (even with the newest drivers.) and lags like crap, and that's with a AMD Black Edition CPU, 6 core, 8gb of ram, and everything set on max I even turn off 16x hq AA, and physx and it still lags.

  • @TheWhiteRose000 i don't have any lagg with my i7 2600k and gtx560 ti SLI

  • Right so, wait a month for bits of paper and smoke

or play the game now on PS3 where it still looks absolutely breathtaking

  • @KarasawaL30 The PS3 and 360 play Battlefield 3 on low graphics. PC will always reign superior. You can enjoy Arkham City now while I enjoy it in a month and have it look 100x better.

  • @ks072 Joke's on you, I have both. Also, Joker dies. See why you should play the PS3 version first?

  • @KarasawaL30 Patience my friend :)

  • will 9500gt ddr3 able to run this game on lower settings???????

  • absolutely adds nothing to the game except dust particles and papers

  • lol @ everyone fighting over if PC, 360, or PS3 is better. They all have their own benefits. I own all 3. Grow up. Get over. Stop hating. Play the fucking games. The end.

  • This is gonna be the longest month of 2011...

  • @BIGDADDYF50 lol jokes on you bitch we have better graphics a faster system can browse the internet, even watch dvds in HD, have physx, can modifiy game files to our preferences, and more you enjoying your shitbox 360 and penis 3? u mad?

  • @BIGDADDYF50 The only fucktard here is the one using 5 year old hardware that my girlfriend and 12 year old brother use. Are you an intelligent man who wants learn more one of his hobbies? Or a 12 year old who just wants what he sees on TV because all the other kids have it? You are fake, just like every other console gamer who's never use a PC.

And don't give me the whole PC is for nerds thing, otherwise you tools like you wouldn't be buying smart phones, LED TV's and new cars.

  • @BIGDADDYF50 JOKER DIED IRL!!

  • @PwntZomg Your a f*cking idiot to put a spoiler like that on here. Here's a spoiler for your life: you're gay. Don't worry, I'm sure you would have found out about this plot twist soon anyway. All the time you spent watching gay porn should have been a big tip off.

  • @MrLammz You're a f*cking idiot for not figuring out I was responding to someone giving a spoiler and making a joke about the actor of the movie dying, not the game. Also, thanks for trying to figure out my sexual orientation in relation to a YouTube comment -- You also failed at it. Good job Sherlock.

  • @PwntZomg Again, you're a f*cking idiot for not realizing that the original troll's post had been blocked (thus no more spoiler on this thread). By feeding the troll, you have posted a spoiler yourself. And BTW, of the thousands of people who may have read your post, do you think ANYONE knows that you're talking about Heath Ledger? You're on a thread for Arkham city, not a movie that came out 3 yrs ago. Regardless of your intent, you're just as bad as Bigdaddy (and as funny too).

  • @MrLammz Woah, I am surprised you finally figured something out. Apparently you are a little on the slow side for taking this long to understand a 3 words comment. I am surprised you claim to see so many subtle spoilers in the videos.

  • AMD users you can get a dedicated Geforce card for PhysX too. I have a GT220 working with my 5870 for Arkham Asylum. Not exactly easy to get working, but hey its worth mentioning.

  • @JML1987 Hi after seeing comparison, I am not sad I am ATI user. Seems taht little more annoying crap is on the screen. Someone might like it, but not me. Still, it is great to use both cards, I have read some faq for it time ago.

  • @WakizashiSabre these 1 min videos of evga have never showed enough of what PhysX has to offer through the whole game. For example, u saw a papers flying around in evga's Batman asylum video, in the game u also see a storm of massive amount of rocks and stuff being destructible. U need to play the game yourself to see and feel it, it usually feels like a whole normal game for people who experience it themselves. Cant blame u if this video is meh for u.

  • u mad bra?

  • I'm must admit that a I'm a AMD fan but this look pretty cool...but I think that this kind of an exaggeration because I don't think that game is gonna look that bad (having a high end Radeon HD 5000 or 6000 series) as the other part with no PhysX.

  • Pretty cool stuff! I wonder if I can run this though. I was able to run Alice Madness Returns fine with PhysX on with my HD5850 so who knows.

  • I smell AMD Fanboys...

  • Well, if it plays better on my system than this video then I'll check it out.

  • Got a free version of this with my new GTX 570 sc but I have no interest in the game, gonna give it to some lucky person instead

  • @DrnkSqrrlProductions I would like to be that lucky person

  • I mean the game is even lagging in the DEMO!!! And they probably ran this on better hardware than most of you numbnuts have.

  • Comment removed

  • This is really dumb. I have an ATI card and I don't give a flying fuck about flying papers and fog. Its rather obnoxious that I have to wait an additional month for features I will not use. Enjoy your dynamic paper and smoke fanboys I'll be off doing things like...I don't know... getting laid. And when the game comes out, I'll be *gulp* playing it instead of fucking with graphical settings and staring at textures.

  • Console and amd u mad?

  • What's with the awful flickering shadows on the stairs at the start? lol.

  • Looks great with or without, but I find it silly to divide the PC base on this. Just use OpenCL and everyone is happy.

  • @cwagmire21 Or people could just learn to read. It's right there, in your face: "The way it's meant to be played".

  • @cwagmire21 u silly, developers add these effect into the PC version because Nvidia paid them to. Without that, they would have just simply ported the console version to PC and add nothing. Want OpenCL so that AMD cards could have these effects too ? Then you're at the wrong page, go to AMD, tell them to do what nvidia has been doing: pushing developers to make PC version different from console, instead of just being cheap so that they can sell cards with a low price. Extra things costs extra.

  • @cwagmire21

"Just use OpenCL" is not that easy. If there were an existing OpenCL alternative, MANY games would use it. But there isn't. Havok and Bullet have not moved to GPU computation, and PhysX would have to be rewritten for OpenCL, which is a big task.

OpenCL PhysX won't happen until Nvidia's competitors come up with something similar. As long as the competing engines are CPU based, Nvidia can lean back because it has no competition.

  • Comment removed

  • @cwagmire21 OpenCL, aka Open Computing Language, is a language for running computational task, like C++ or Java.

PhysX is a program, written in C code, that runs physics calculations. nVidia bothered writing a compiler allowing their video cards to run C code, aka CUDA. AMD never did bother and expects everyone else to develop for them.

  • DYNAMIC PAPER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is why I game on consoles, so I don't have to worry about this shit.

  • so no amd support

  • xbox and ps3 go out!!!!

  • How come they wont makes this for mac :(

  • @drunkenchef24

    what? xD

  • lol AMD

  • Not worth us200 more than ATI.

    gimmick for a few games

  • Not worth the wait

  • Nvidia owns AMD every single day.

  • So many crying fanboys. Hilarious.

  • Yeah i bet they delayed the game just for that

  • wow paper sparks and smoke, amazing, so worth owning a shitty Nvidia card for

any physics can be done on the CPU, Nvidia Physx is a load of shit, thats why only a few games use it, because Nvidia has to pay them to use it

  • It definitely looks better, but it doesn't change the core gaming experience, so I don't care. I'll have just as much fun playing it as someone with an Nvidia card would; I've got an HD 5870.

  • Sorry but Havok can do this and without the huge FPS loss . Thats why DICE choosed it for BF3.

If BF3 used PhysX it will most probably lagged on every PC to date.

  • @xStalkerxx can havok do interactive smoke/fog and fabric/paper like this can? the game isn't unplayable without it but it would sure look nice

  • joker without an arm at the end?

  • @condorX2 That's Abramovici Twins

  • I love how defensive and competitive nvidia users are regarding the whole gimmicky feature that is physX.

It's okay thanks, you can keep a few extra particles. In the meantime, I'll carry on buying AMD cards which aren't overpriced and actually perform better than their nvidia counterparts.

  • @MrPicklerwoof Yeah just like DOF and SSAO is gimmick, right? lol It adds so much dynamic to the world, especially in batman AA and AC.

Without physx on you're not playing this game at maximum settings.

  • i allways buy nvidia, but buy AMD cpus! thats the only thing amd gets right!!! and the reason why is becasue i have had really bad probs out of ati!!! like blue screen that result in "thead stuck in device driver"

  • SUCK IT AMD AND CONSOLE USERS!!!!! lulzzzzzzzzz.........

  • @ericnjost You Battlefield fanboys are annoying. Then you complain about CoD fanboys, when in reality you're as bad as them, or worse even. Go play Generic Modern Military Shooter 3 and shut the fuck up.

  • SLI 580!!!

  • So far all I got out of this is more shit flying everywhere... :3 XD

  • PHYSX ONLY ON NVIDIA.

  • don't spose this will run on my HP laptop will it lol

  • I came in my pants watching this. If waiting a month means that my game looks like the video on the right side ill be happy.

  • So the PhysX adds the particles and smoke?

  • @projectodemayhem yes, clothes and more some... :)

  • @projectodemayhem among many things, yes. physX enhances the overall realism of clothes, particles, fire, smoke, dust, etc.

  • *sigh* I guess I should sell my Radeon HD6850.

But I have an AMD chip, does that cause conflicts with an Nvidia video card?

  • @HanDaimond Not at all!

  • @HanDaimond no! amd cpu will work fine with nvidia cards :) same goes with intel

  • Nvidia FTW

  • Why the fuck is it not out for another month.

  • @tomroxelf Because this shit requires time. If you want a console port then go ahead be mu guest.

  • Cant wait for the pc version, to bad they delayed it

  • Comment removed

  • @vga1232 make that 9

  • @vga1232 you can have physX with amd dumbass, I run it! 570 gtx!

  • @dereileak

Whatcha talking about retardo ? AMD=ATI

  • @vga1232 and console peons

  • @vga1232 i have an AMD 6970, you can still use a dedicated Nvidia card. :) just got to use the 1.04ff Mod and it works with the latest Nvidia Drivers & PhysX software.

  • @vga1232 PhysX works on AMD as well smart guy.

  • @crupe

not when physx hardware is *required*, like in the previous Batman game and this one.

Don't confuse software physx and hardware physx. You need Nvidia hardware to get all the effects, dumb guy.

  • @vga1232 no, not really. software physx SHOULD be capable of anything hardware physx can, but when nvidia butchers the SDK like they have many times before, THAT is the only time when nvidia cards have an advantage, if game developers would just use OpenCL, DirectCompute, OR JUST DX11, we could all be happy.

  • Comment removed

  • my 570 is ready! too bad the game is not.

  • @ayewanrice

do you think my gtx 570 overclocked to 850 core and core i5 2500k and 8gb ram will max this game on 1080p resolution.

    With high Physx?

  • @BIGDADDYF50 i am not absolutely sure, but if this game is running on the same engine as arkham asylum, it will easily tun it. if not, maybe high physx will slow it down, but i think it will still be able to max it out.

  • @ayewanrice my 580s are ready all 4 of them

  • system requirements out yet?

  • physx works with a gts 450?

  • my next system is going to be a 2560x1600 gaming system, and for what nvidia offers I much rather stick with my 6990, if only developers didnt downgrade their games so much in order to force you to buy a specific product, I mean just look at the comparisons, oh well atleast there wont be any antialiasing needed on my end

  • @MrSuckmyballs32 I think it's more of the fact that AMD driver makers aren't bothered making the best drivers they can which is exactly the reason why Nvidia cards cost more, but they have much better drivers that won't crash. If AMD made their drivers as good as Nvidia on the graphics cards, AMD cards would also have something similar to PhysX and be able to do what Nvidia cards are able to. Reason I went Nvidia instead of AMD on my current build, better drivers = no crash.

  • @sbrideau2000 actually its more down to developers to optimize their games to the architectures and yea drivers do play a part, but I would not be so quick to point my finger at AMD's driver support as they have reacently improoved their drivers and for the most part its been good news and smooth sailing (in some cases better than the competition). however you are right that Nvidia does have beter drivers at the time of release and I've got the latest drivers installed so no wonder they are good

  • @MrSuckmyballs32 I like you :P. I'll give a shot at reading more news about AMD's driver support while I think about what I want as new graphics card, my build is getting old so I don't necessarily have the best graphics haha.

  • @sbrideau2000 yea and in the long run that will increase Nvidia's sales and actually push their physx tech more efficiently I mean having to run phisics and particle calculations as well as rendering on the same gpu is preety demanding on the card, (the cpu can handle phisics calculations quite well)

but yea AMD has really sharpen up their driver support and honestly I really do recomend them besides crossfire scales really good and seems to be more compatible than some SLI setups i've seen

  • @sbrideau2000 also the 6990 beats the 590 when you go onto 2560x1600, otherwise I would have to buy 2 580's and for me that seems like a way overpriced setup.

besides AMD drivers are a bit buggy at launch but as seen with the 6900 series they mature really well.

all I want from Nvidia is for them to make dedicated physx cards that work with both AMD and Nvidia like it was in the old days.

  • Comment removed

  • @RalphCQ Ageia was the name of the company that created PhysX. Nvidia cards and Ati cards can't work together.

  • @LLOYD19851012 There are people out there who know how to hack drivers... There's actual hacked drivers out there that allow SLI on Crossfire motherboards, and Crossfire on SLI motherboards.

  • Comment removed

  • @LLOYD19851012 oh btw, look up Lucid Hydra. :)

Motherboards with this chip allow ANY graphics cards to be used together, AMD or Nvidia. It doesn't work very well yet, but I do hope they improve it and make it perfect.

  • @MrSuckmyballs32 Yeah Actual physx cards would be fun, shame they don't do that anymore.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @sbrideau2000 well said, Nvidia aquired physx and incorporated that technology to their gpu's however in the past you were able to use an nvidia graphics card for physx processing and an ATI card for rendering, but Nvidia then dropped support for that and forced people to buy Nvidia cards (the gtx 580 is a monster really allmost two 560's) but there is a way you can download "hacked" driers to allow for that nowadays, however its a bit hummm shall we say framed upon by Nvidia, lol no wonder why

  • meh, doesn't really add much, can do without it

  • physx sucks

  • Sometimes I love being an Nvidia fan boy.

  • They are hard to find , but I wonder if a 520gt PCI card would suffice as a PhysXs card?

  • @BarackMcBush As long as the card says "PhysX" on the box. I'm using my old 460 for it.

  • @foist101 The reason I said that is most motherboards (less and less now thought) have only 1 pci-e slot and a couple pci slots , I don't why Nvidia doesn't make a decent PCI PhysXs card.

  • @BarackMcBush I've never seen a mobo with less that 3. O_o But then again I run full size.

  • @foist101 You are Running High end then ,most people don't , I went cheap on my i7 2600 with a 70$ Asus motherboard that only has 1 pci-e motherboard.

  • @BarackMcBush the PCI ageia Physx Processing Unit was a great one. but is not supported after the 8.09.04 physx software (After 8.09.04, 8.09.04 still supports it).

  • @BarackMcBush pft no. They're all over. Just walk into any bestbuy.

  • @Madblaster89 The PCI-E yes ,the PCI version ,Not Really.

  • How could I possibly play this game without dollar bills flying everywhere? >:/
