I first got into to comics when I was like 10 or 11 when I was in a bookstore and I saw The Dark Knight Returns and read the first issue inside, it really blew my mind that comics were not just for kids and the great art by Frank Miller.
the first comic that i ever read was, I went to a flee market and i got a pack of spiderman comics when i was somwhere from 8 to 10 and the comic i really liked was the Return of the Sinister Six with Hobgoblin replacing Kraven. I still remember how much Hobgoblin terrified me as a kid but i still wanted to read it also i had what i believe was Stegron's third appearance in marvel where he, beetle, vulture and some others tried to kill spidey. Love a good villain team-up.
I started with manga, Death Note to be exact an that was like four years ago. It just happened cuz I picked up a Shonen Jump with the Death Note preview chapter an had to read the series. But I just got into like comic books a month ago with Deadpool cuz of Nate an since then I've just started to read comics heavily.
When I was around 8, my parents allowed me to watch The Simpsons. I liked it alot. So, when I saw the comics at the store, I couldn't resist. I got hooked on all the different The Simpsons series'. I stoped reading comics years later and became obsested with the 90's cartoons. Now, at 20, I am starting to get into serious comics. I know it is weird, but that's my story.
. Then it was near the end of 7th grade last year. My school had gotten a bunch of comics from free comicbook day and given them to the reading teachers so i was like ok sure. I browsed what she layed out and i was like ok i'll get this wolveine one (lame and gay) oh and how about this avengers(ok) um this half of gi joe half of transformers thing... and green lantern puh that is so gay! all he does is where a ring! But Blackest Night #0 called to me. I read it a geoff johns got me hooked.
I saw the late seasons of Batman tas when I was 3 or 4. I saw the Spider-man cartoon when I was 7 and 8. My first comic was a Batman issue. My video store use to sell Batman and The Adventures of Superman. But now the don't sell them anymore. So now I read trades from a bookstore or my school libary. There's a comic store called Meyhem . I usally buy some of my comics there. And thats where I am now.
i just got into them! by you! i saw your ultimate spider-man review and though "hey i might get that" so i did and i have been getting more ever since!
spiderman was my favriote and still is my fav comic even brand new day cause its a fresh start and its easy to get into cause mygrandpa had this old collectors 60 spiderman comic where he fights vulture and i also like marvel adventures spiderman anyone with me
The next year, my family and i moved to australia. My brother and i one day began to have a talk about all the shows we watched in south africa. i remembered all the shows that you mentioned. i was about 4 or 5 when i watched them but they were always at the back of my mind. i spend the next few months searching for a comic store which i found. i first bought the rest of Secret Wars and was amazed. i'm now 16 and have been a hardcore fan eversince. there is alot more to this story but whatever.
My comic history goes way back to when i was like 4 years old. but there was no comicbooks anymore where i came from which is South Africa. i had all these toys of Marvel superheroes which i played with all the time. My first one i got was my captain america (which is problably why i think he's the best hero). my first comic that i picked up was a issue of Secret Wars (the Beyonder thing) that came with a spidey toy. i was blwn away by that issue (i was about 8).
Late 80's/early 90's I was a grade school kid who collected baseball cards because I played sports.
In those days, all the shops were card/comics. So, even when I was buying cards, I was always surrounded by these characters and poked and prodded.
One day it hit me...these paper cards are stupid. There are REAL STORIES behind these pages. That, and my sister and and I had just beaten the X-Men Arcade game.
Traded in all my cards. Started buying comics. The End.
but before I started collecting comics I collected Graphic Novels since they where easy to find and more convientient it was the various Ultimate stuff back then. mainly X-men and Spider man. then when Civil War came I got into comics more I mainly read them on the book store shelves.
Well I really got into comics thanks to the Spider-Man movie and Smallville. Funny how those things that made me think spuerheroes were awesome in the first place suddenly makes me very embarassed...
Well I'm from Norway and there wasn't many titles to pick up, I bought some Spider-Man and X-Men (DC almost isn't published at all here). But when I was about 13 years old and Superman Returns was coming out I got interested again and started buying trades online, and it has gone on from there.
ah so you got into comics by cartoons huh same here. my first comics that got me into comics was perhaps the Infinity Gauntlet and buying so many of the Marvel Encyclopedia books.
I saw the Hulk encyclopedia and it sucked the other they got right to the point who they are. but I prefer the comic rather than the info because you get a feel for the character
The first comics I can remember getting was my mom use to work at a restaurant and one day some person there gave her a bunch of comics for her to give to me they were some cool ones that I really loved Captain America #350 & Some Assassin Lady & The Fish police it was a black and white comic I want to get some of those issues again since there kind of torn up now

I'm not really into any comics that much. I like a few of the cartoons, and I might read a manga once in a while
really I like to read Gantz (nishi is my favorite character) and I enjoy Spiderman, and can you please tell me a Deadpool cartoon/anime series? :D
JokeReed 3 years ago
I was talking about american comics. I could do a video on anime and manga tho.
Sadly no Deadpool cartoon to come as I know. But there's talk about a spin off film.

sad he seems like a cool main character too. So funny and sarcastic.
