  • Jane Greene is my great great great great great aunt and my great grandma told me i hadnt heard of her and i really love her music now

    Thanks for posting this

  • my mom and I are crazy about this song and she usually prefers new music but she just adores this one and so do I, it's really precious!!!!!!!

  • @Rena1934 A very fine choice indeed! You should sample her other songs posted on my channel. I think you may find you like them too. Thanks for watching.

  • Bob!, I LOVE THIS!!! JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • I'm so glad you posted it here, Bob. It's one of my most favorite Jane songs. I especially love the soulful violins.

  • My favorite of Jane's recordings too. Great minds think alike:)

  • Jane Green was a really superb singer. I am so happy to have found this upload and have created a "playlist" dedicated to her.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful post.

  • I believe this song was my first exposure to Jane. I favor this song over the others because I love her singing and this beautiful arrangement. It seems Isham Jones wrote this for her while they were having a fling.

  • She sounds so relaxed and in control. She doesn't rush the words. This is a pro expertly letting the notes roll out of her mouth.

Thanks to you Pax carrying this important part of American culture forward in time so we can re-discover it.

  • This song was my first introduction to the beautiful voice of Jane Green and have since added to my collection. I will post another of hers today.

  • Pax- I subscribed for your theater organ posts,

and- would like to thank you for broadening

my outlook! I was unaware of Jane Green, and

did not know what I had missed. Thanks for

    presenting the great recordings here.

    Best regards,

    Don

  • Don I am glad that you discovered Jane. She was a true gem and a short lived one. Glad to see you are exploring new areas.

  • I'm glad to see that these talented people are at least remembered by a few. Great post!! She sings this song so beautifully too.

Though it's irrelevant now, I wonder if she was murdered. They said her husband's behavior was off when she died. I guess it doesn't matter now. Either way, a talented soul she was.

  • I have often thought that she was murdered too. At least we have the few gems that she left behind. Thank you for your comments.

  • I only have two of her 78's but familiar with most of her songs via YT and the net

  • I've become quite enchanted with this song. I recently got a copy of this 78 and must have played it repeatedly for close to an hour...Jane Green deserved to make more recordings, and indeed, to live a longer life. She absolutely NAILS this song. Great!

  • I agree with you in regards to her life and her output. She was a great singer and this song was her best. Thank you for your comments. Would like very much to have you as a subscriber too.

    Thanks

  • Hi, Pax...well, I don't know what subscribing means (online); guess I'll find out. Whenever I hear an artist for the first time, it's that first impression that compels me (or not) to find out more about them. Jane impressed me with her directness...she just got down to it and sang her little heart out. No mannerisms, no pretensions...can you imagine how great she'd sound were she able to record with today's technology?

  • Have listened to her other recordings on here? I have one other and then several other YT channels have the rest of her output posted.

  • Hi, Mr. Pax; I have almost all of Jane's songs on CD, and I have an LP with 13 of her songs; I got them both from Superbatone records. I also try to buy her 78's when they come up on Ebay...

  • You certainly have been batting a thousand with your postings lately.

  • Glad you like them.

  • Perfection.

  • This song in my opinion is one of her best.

  • Very nice, Jane had a nice voice as well as looks...........The arrangement seem as if it was from a movie ...well done.

  • I have not heard this before and it was an absolute delight. Thank you Bob.

  • This is another repost. I posted it 5 months ago but wanted to redo the recording since I changed my recording process. Glad you enjoyed her. She is great!
