I've been using the term SWIRLY for children of mixed races for years now.
SWIRL is not a new word. It's an OLD ice cream flavor from the days of soft-serve. Why this annoying FAT black chick would think it's a new term is very self absorbed.
@uncoverbrother I think I have your answer... Joss cares about music and not about fame, I think if people want to hear her stuff, they should pay some attention, that's called musical wisdom :) she's not that kind of commercial singer that you watch on tv.. i think that's the difference :D cuz like you said, she's talented!
@uncoverbrother Her record company. She talks about, in the longer version of this video, how she is doing a lot of the promoting on this album by herself because of the record label drama.
She's performed live with - in no particular order - James Brown (she was 18), Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Jeff Beck, Common, Nas, Smokey Robinson, well, you get the idea. She sang for James Brown at his Kennedy Center awards ceremony when she was 14. She sang for Aretha Franklin.
What happened? She is doing it her way. The people who know music have lined up to hear her and play with her.
She's 9 years into her career and just turned 23 in April :)
@JohnBT333 that's a very good point. i should've realized that earlier since most of my favorite artists aren't super-duper stars. very astute of you!!
