  • It's so ironic that she started off as a high school outcast with telicenetic power being harrased by her religious mother to this!

  • @cheshirepuss1 LOL!!!

  • Great performance but for me lacks the vulnerability that I want Roxie Hart to have.

  • Linzi is one of my all-time favourites. Just a gem of an actor, with an amazing voice. Love love love her.

  • JESUS CHRISTMAS! This was amazing! Thanks for posting this... I think besides Ann, from this footage alone, I can say she's the best Roxie from this revival we've seen!

A terrific character/comedic actress combined with a STELLAR voice... the dancing is not so precise, but she is so much more, that we can forgive that!

  • Gosh she lost so much weight since Carrie. Good for her! :-)

  • @tarynactress I wonder what Mama would say about that skimpy dress!

  • Linzi was even better than I imagined...she really makes this part her own...and it was fabulous! I never thought I would laugh so much :)

  • Chicago, Mamma Mia...pah! She will NEVER escape Carrie!

  • Linzi's amazing! I saw her 3 times! She's great! One of THE best Roxies out there! I'm so glad she's returning to the show!

  • i probably see this in the cambridge thatre

  • shes AWESOME! i can actually see the glitter in her eyes roxie has

  • loved linzi in mamma mia! shes incredible!

  • can she even do the cart wheel at the end?

  • I love her different interpretation of it! THat's what makes it good, it's not the same as Ruthie's (the best) but it's funnier in some ways which is good too.

  • I think she is brilliant in this...just fabulous!

  • Over the top. Not entertaining but annoying.

  • I couldn't agree with you more, this just gives me a headache. This is waaaaay overdone.

  • i love dis song cos my names Roxie 0^-^0

  • She was WAY better in 'Carrie: the musical'. Those were the best five performances on Broadway EVER! LMAO!!! :-D

  • I AGREE 100%

  • ridiculous

  • i love linzi, i was in oliver with her about 9 years ago. i can't remember her that well cos i was quite young, but as far as i know she was an amazing nancy!!

  • BUENISIMOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • sorry, not as good as ruthie henshall :P

  • I think she does a good job as Roxie, my parents saw her in this role and said she was really good too.

  • Well, God bless her!

I was afraid "Carrie" had ruined her career forever.

    Great voice, great acting.

  • God, she really milked that performance for all it could offer. I've never heard the audience laugh so often during a musical number. She's great!

  • This is the same Linzi Hateley that starred in the infamous CARRIE musical?????

  • yes it her

  • Excelente voz la de Linzi, y excelente actuación.

El bailarín de la izquierda bailó muy bien, pero tiene muchos músculos...parece stripper...:s

  • What a great roxie!

  • personaly i think that london normaly has the higher standerd for shows like this . and for many others .... what do u think ?

  • well, I saw this show in London just this week, with frances rufelle playing Roxie. Somehow, for someone who has so many great musical theatre credits, she couldn't sing, act, dance or put on a good american accent. A lot better than this gal. guess it's just bad casting at the moment. :P

  • Well I saw Cabaret, the original 1967 on DVD first and then saw the 98 revival and loved the revival more. ((Hated the London revival, however.))

As for the West End having higher standards? Maybe for plays but I don't think for musicals. Consider all the shows that move from Broadway to West End compared to shows moving from London to New York.

What? Equus and Billy Elliot (which is.... well.... ugh...) and what did we give London? Chicago, Cabaret, Wicked, Les Mis... and on and on and on...

  • les mis came from London. :P and Wicked isn't exactly that great...:s I think it's true that currently there are very few british musical theatre composers, but that doesn't change the standards of productions here. The standard of ensemble acting in the west end is said to be much higher than in broadway. Also, the 98 revival was essentially an updated copy of a 1993 london production, with many of the same creative staff.I think it depends on the production, really.

  • yeah, in fact cats, les mis, miss saigon and many of the most famous musical theatre plays come from London

  • and some of the one that comes from London are even good. ;p

  • she is EXCELLENT

where can i see more of her in the show

    ??

  • my only other reference is Ann Reinking, who has a shit voice, so i'd say by comparison this is excellent.

  • I really loved Ann's. You should see Ruthie Henshall's :)

  • fantastic. really fantastic.

  • i saw her in mamma mia and she was brill!!!!!

  • Can we have Ruthie's All That Jazz?

  • The only time I've Heard her sing was in Mary Poppins. I love this one!!! Great Video!!!

  • wow, that's completley perfect!

  • Dude! I was there! I worked as an usher in the Adelphi through Linzi's entire run I must've seen this number about 80 times. I still love it, Thanks man.

Don't suppose you have the courtroom scene, she was excellent in that

  • Oh wow, she is AMAZING. I had to find clips of proper Roxies after Melanie Griffith made my eyes and ears bleed. Thank you, Linzi.

  • i saw her in March 2006 and she had improved a great deal from this show

  • can this woman do no wrong?

  • she screams Velma, no?

  • i KNOW its true

    !!!

  • LOVE her! saw her as Roxie 4 times! She's AMAZING! Can't wait for her Donna in Mamma Mia!

  • She's good.
