The scene where the mother leaves the kid alone in the kitchen and comes back in a few seconds later to find everything mysteriously disordered was lifted DIRECTLY from "Poltergeist"! I saw through the "surprise ending" as soon as the kid who saw dead people interacted with Willis' character....... and NO ONE else did. A silly movie by a director that seems to think a big twist at the end of his films equals a sound plot.
No I'm not particularly smart. Just average I guess.This film just didn't do it for me. I actually liked "Unbreakable". That ending seemed to work better in my opinion. If I came across as obnoxious, then I'm sorry. I understand that a lot of people love this movie. I wasn't trying to insult them. I think his movies have a good sense of pacing, tension and character development. And he has a good eye for composing interesting imagery. It's just the plot twists are a stretch. Just my opinion.
It stars Bruce Willis, and it's about how he finds out that he's indestructible when he is the only person to survive a train accident. And it's just him trying to find out how he came to be that way, and his purpose. It's basically a superhero movie, but set in a really realistic manner. You should rent it. Tell me if you end up liking it.

A former patient of Bruce Willis breaks into his house and shoots him. [At this point Willis dies but Willis's ghost doesn't know his body died]. The little kid can see and talk to Willis's ghost but no one else can see Willis. The kid knows Willis is dead but never tells him.
Wouldn't Willis catch on to this like after the next day? Am I suppose to believe he did not once go into a McDonald's or anyplace for that matter to get something for himself and of course would be ignored since no one can see him?
Yes, Willis does have a meeting in a restaurant with his wife...but it is played so brilliantly that you still don't pick up on the fact that he is dead. You have to see the movie to understand this. However, the fact that you already know the ending takes away some of the intrigue of the movie.
The restaurant scene was done very nice. Where I have the problem is the scene of Bruce sitting opposite the boys mother before the boy arrives at home! Soooo how did Bruce get into the house? First only the boy can see him so he cannot communicate with the mother and I'm to believe he never talked to the mother??? Here he is meeting the boy before school and after?? And not once introduced himself to the mother??? We are suppose to believe that? THEN I SAY PEDOPHILE!!!
The director never wanted the audience to know he was dead! And he did do a good job of that,,,However he left HUGE gape holes for the mother is so loving and concerned about her boy that I'm to believe that she lets this TOTAL stranger take him to and from school?!? Oh your right she can't see him cause he is a ghost...HE DOES NOT KNOW THAT! So I'm to believe he would not talk to the boys mother? At least introduce himself to her??I mean he is seeing him every day. That is a flaw
adding on too what others have said, one of the things the boy said about ghosts/dead people, is that they create an image of what they wanted too see and the reality that they live in changes too this image. So the part with his mother and willas, im guessing he would have imagined that he had talked too his mother, and his mother wouldve responded too what he would have thought of.

The scene where the mother leaves the kid alone in the kitchen and comes back in a few seconds later to find everything mysteriously disordered was lifted DIRECTLY from "Poltergeist"! I saw through the "surprise ending" as soon as the kid who saw dead people interacted with Willis' character....... and NO ONE else did. A silly movie by a director that seems to think a big twist at the end of his films equals a sound plot.

No I'm not particularly smart. Just average I guess.This film just didn't do it for me. I actually liked "Unbreakable". That ending seemed to work better in my opinion. If I came across as obnoxious, then I'm sorry. I understand that a lot of people love this movie. I wasn't trying to insult them. I think his movies have a good sense of pacing, tension and character development. And he has a good eye for composing interesting imagery. It's just the plot twists are a stretch. Just my opinion.

It stars Bruce Willis, and it's about how he finds out that he's indestructible when he is the only person to survive a train accident. And it's just him trying to find out how he came to be that way, and his purpose. It's basically a superhero movie, but set in a really realistic manner. You should rent it. Yes, Willis does have a meeting in a restaurant with his wife...but it is played so brilliantly that you still don't pick up on the fact that he is dead. You have to see the movie to understand this. However, the fact that you already know the ending takes away some of the intrigue of the movie.

The restaurant scene was done very nice. Where I have the problem is the scene of Bruce sitting opposite the boys mother before the boy arrives at home! Soooo how did Bruce get into the house? First only the boy can see him so he cannot communicate with the mother and I'm to believe he never talked to the mother??? Here he is meeting the boy before school and after?? And not once introduced himself to the mother??? We are suppose to believe that? THEN I SAY PEDOPHILE!!!

The director never wanted the audience to know he was dead! And he did do a good job of that,,,However he left HUGE gape holes for the mother is so loving and concerned about her boy that I'm to believe that she lets this TOTAL stranger take him to and from school?!? Oh your right she can't see him cause he is a ghost...HE DOES NOT KNOW THAT! So I'm to believe he would not talk to the boys mother? adding on too what others have said, one of the things the boy said about ghosts/dead people, is that they create an image of what they wanted too see and the reality that they live in changes too this image. So the part with his mother and willas, im guessing he would have imagined that he had talked too his mother, and his mother wouldve responded too what he would have thought of.
