That thing looks like it's Android-based. If you can sideload apps onto it, you can probably get a proper CBZ reading program like Droid Comic Viewer, and other apps that would take care of the other device's shortcomings.

Unless it's a closed device, which would be annoying. Also, it still seems very China-oriented (heh, "orient-ed"), so it may be hard to sideload onto it anyway. And you can't get an app that would take care of its lame battery life.

I just recently realized my ipod touch had a e-book app, and I immediately downloaded tons of public domain books that would cost me up to 7 dollars apiece for the physical copy. Also, I now have a full library in my pocket whenever I should need it. I still prefer a physical copy of a book, but e-books are in no way just for the "insane or retarded."

But for me it's not about the ability to carry a million billion books with you in your pocket, it's the idea of sitting in a chair with a stupid bright screen flaring in your face for 5 hours as you consume the good old story.
