helllo just searched this i was in the riu cancun hotel and i was there when this happened .me and my family were taken to a shelter with the reps and then after 3 days i think we were told the army was taking us to a school in the outskirrts where we said for a coupl of days and oh my days was it all crazy quite scary if im honest anyways iv got sum footage too of the beach that was swept away and sum petrol stations that had been blwon down anyway just wanted to say

While the nation was still focused on Katrina and N.O. from a couple months prior. I do not believe anyone cared much about Wilma except those of us that live here and suffered the hell of it for weeks after! "The squeakiest wheel gets the most oil."

I personally loved Wilma. I hope we get hit by an even stronger storm this year. The power outage for four weeks was the best part - no idiotbox or computer left more room to read something and to repair the yard and help the neighbours fix up their properties. I think that's more enjoyable than the mundanity of life otherwise.

i was there too...no light for 3 weeks...no food...water and milk ran out....and all our friends got in fights with one another...stressed i gues. the best thing i remember were the stars, shinning so bright in the dark sky
