So what ? You guys just took the $ & ran. Who wrote this anyway? Your gifted lyrics touched us then but now hearing it again how did you know about reflections at such a young age?
PLEASE join the Dean Ford Singer/Songwriter Facebook group! Listen to Reflections of my Life and remember what a great Singer/Songwriter he is. Hendrix said the Marmalade had the best song of 67 in I See The Rain. It's a lot of fun. Dean is about to issue a new album with ex-Badfinger Joe Tansin. Joe and Dean are active in the Group and respond to our questions. Their new duet The Glasgow Road has been posted on our wall. Junior Campbell & Alan Whitehead are also active in the group. :-)
Well done and thank you for finding and posting this! Amazing song by a truly fantastic group. Really wish they'd re-form with as many of the original members as possible, particularly Dean Ford. Enduring quality - beautiful melodies, harmonies and lyrics. Nice one!
Wish I could have seen this live. Of course, I was only 9 in 1970... Anyway, I'm glad someone recorded this concert clip for all of us to enjoy so many years better. Great singing, great guitar work, great band.
@carolmady44 I'd be surprised if it was. I know Vietnam vets picked up on it but Vietnam wasn't a huge thing in Scotland in the 1970s - i remember nothing at the time re any Vietnam connection and always just took it as he wrote it - personal
Just watched this, and a few other posts of the same song. Takes me back to playing in a 'cover' band in 1970 and learning this solo. Getting the tone and sustain, AND trying to simulate the 'backward' effect was a challenge at the time - but enjoyable.
@CattailsandRoses Yeah isn't that amazing? I guess when you have such a gifted voice it's relatively easy to do it and for the rest...the losers..well that's why there's grunge and rap. Who needs talent to make it in the modern industry?
Alan Whitehead (drummer in this video) has a comment on Marmalade Dean Ford - Singer/Songwriter facebook page "might be Germany..first film i have seen when Iam using my premier drum kit and not my painted ludwig..I used this kit for touring so its somewhere on tour and we finished our set with Reflections..great find!"

I like the two timbres he uses--first a soft simple one , then the sharper more strident voice. Excellent musicianship and singing
