apricot is a political fruit when we think your origins in ottoman empire and as you know the song is about motherland, but i think there is no negative intention in this song. it seems political, just because some turks may defensive against armenian people as a cause of their politic view. (malatya is famous with apricots and it is the place where ottoman empire's armenian citizens live. also apricot's scientific name is "prunus armeniaca" which comes from armenian people.)
