@elewint Yeah, I sort of wish I'd given it a better plus. It's a great piece of software offered at a very reasonable price and, what's more, the guy who writes it is one of the nicest people I've ever exchanged emails with. Thanks, Camille!
@dailon2007 First of all, it's Sam. Second, that is a fantastic question. The short answer is I don't know. It's something I've tried many times with mixed results. You can't just integrate acceleration measures from the wiimote to get velocity because gravity provides a constant acceleration. It's also very tricky to get fine-grained velocity (medium vs. medium hard), although it's possible to get coarse grained velocity (hard vs. soft) with some reliability. PM me if you want to talk more.
.....although your delivery, humour AND content are infinitely more enjoyable than my uploads. I WILL BE STEALING YOUR METHODOLOGY BRO. Maybe with Heineken though instead of Peroni :)
Great vid! I'm definitely going to try this out. Can you map Wii-mote buttons to do stuff as well? It'd be cool to hit the B button and have it change the drum sounds or something along that line.
Great tutorial! By the way, Osculator isn't free but it is very cheap.
