"Black heroes" was the name given to the African American soldiers who fought in WW2 despite being treated as second class citizens to other white soldiers. It was because of their bravery that Harry Truman, a racist in the past, decided to introduce the first presidential civil right reform act called "To secure these rights" after hearing of the amazing stories from African American soldiers.
I doubt Ratatat based this song on this but it is a fun fact for you :D.
@MEEP012 awesome! Mad props to Truman that's some REAL LIFE shit right there! Cool as hell. I can picture one of those soldiers meeting the president and telling him insane tales of combat...and blowing his mind!
@screenscanner LLLLOOOOOOLLLL. I wasn't expecting that kind of reaction. That's fucking hilarious. You do know I was super ripped off some Bubba Kush when I wrote that shit right? I remember laughing to myself and thinking it would be a hilariously cliche thing to write. One love brotha.
@forgotaboutbre Thank for all heroes ... African, American,European, Asian, Black people, white people, Arab ... We're all the same, and all together untill the end !
