Ages ago when I last played this (can't remember if i got through), I never got the screw attack (purposefully), and I was trapped in that area and couldn't escape, looked through all the secret paths and such, and i think I trapped myself indefinitely.

i beat metroid without the varia suit,super missiles, screw attack, and wave beam, speed boost, and charge beam all in under 2 hours. i wish i could show the video but i dont have a camara to recode it with sorry

1) At first you ran from them (space pirates), now you kick the everlasting shit out of them

yeah, there were the "unknown" items that you found and they were the gravity suit, plasma beam and space jump.

You couldnt use them when you got them because they were "incompatible with current suit" which is really stupid because of this reason:

Haha, I never noticed that the Space Pirate tries to follow Samus into the morph ball pathway, and consequently gets stuck. At least it seems that way.

If you find the unknown item that gives you the Gravity Suit then the game gives you the Varia Suit at this point regardless of whether you found it in Brinstar or not. So you always find a second Varia Suit here.
