It's sort of a prototype cat with all the basic features but some of the advanced stuff like the eyes and claws not fully evolved. It's still very cool looking though and you can imagine the first cats that started hanging around human settlements resembling like this.

my old cat was actually that size, easily, he died march 21st though =( died in my arms, was 10 years old, about 21 pounds and about that hight and length easily, we never knew what breed, that might explain his size..his brother is a bit smaller but still pretty big...lol cool i might have a pallas

It's actually just fluffy fur. Pallas' Cats are from Mongolia and Siberia so they have very dense fur and stocky bodies.

@WCSMedia And the short ears are to protect against frostbite, right? They are very cute... they've got ridiculously fluffy and thick fur. But as you said, in the cold of Siberia and Mongolia, they need that kind of fur to keep them from freezing to death.

Wow! This is the best video I've seen of Pallas Cats, my favorite animal of all time! I saw one face to face in the Beijing Zoo in 1981 and have been hooked ever since. Is the more or less solid color on the body normal for them? I don't recall seeing that. They look like really big guys. Well fed!
