  • Nevermind who started what. The fact that these four origional members are back together doing what they do best (playing great metal) is in itself epic. Vengence, Messiah, Mortification-none of them lasted this long. I know Stryper tried a comeback tour but I believe that was just one tour. Correct me if I'm wrong. By the way, I was right up front with all the old die hard LS fans for this show. It was the highlight of my Cornerstone 2008 experience. Doesn't get any better than Living Sacrifice

  • Stryper,Saint,Philadelphia,Barnabus,Daniel Band, and Messiah Prophet Band started Christian Metal in the early 80's living sacrifice wasnt even thought of back then.

  • Amazing show. The only reason I went to CStone this year. Thanks for posting!

  • Well, thank you for your kind words. I am glad that you can recognize an over exaggeration, as well.

  • Um, Living Sacrifice is the godfather of all Christian metal. I hope you're just too young to know better.

  • for real dude living sacrifice are like the godfather of all christian metal. halohobo needs to do a little more research

  • I beg to differ Vengeance Rising, Deliverence, and Mortification started the Christian Death/Black metal sound first. Living Sacrifice followed after that.

  • fair enough. almost every great musical act stood on the shoulders of some giant or another.

Being 27 years old though, Living Sacrifice was the beginning of an era for me.

  • I am 40 years old so ive been listening to christian rock since the mid 70's when Larry Norman and Rez Band was the hardest rock out there. Larry Norman actually started the whole christian rock scene as we know it in 1969.

  • I know about Larry Norman. Six o-clock news, baby! 'Grammatrain' shed light on him for me.

  • Don't forget tourniquet.

  • As I Lay dying are hugley inspired by living sacrifice...I hope you know that, Your favourite band worships living sacrifice...

  • lol, you think as i lay dying are better than living sacrifice! Yeah, i really like as i lay dying but yer on your own in the assumption that they are better.

  • show some respect. They've been doing it way longer then AILD (1989). They're also a different kind of metal then AILD is. Yes in many respects AILD IS far better without a doubt, but like someone else said, AILD has quoted MANY times that LS is one of their biggest inspirations.

  • wooh! best band EVER right there!

i was there..uh in the back..trying not 2 get killed.

i was also there 4 impending doom. haha

some kid was in the mosh pit and cracked his tooth. uh oh. :)

  • Thanks for posting this! I missed this show because I was over at the Blaster the Rocketman reunion (which was very cool). I'm so happy that LS is BACK! These guys really are one of the best metal acts around and they have influenced so many bands... I'm hoping they come out with new material soon. Anyone know if they are working on a new record?

  • they are def working on a new record and have a new song on their myspace already
