I have a PSP without the need to mod for USB charge. Go to settings»Power settings»USB Charge (charge in USB mode)»On

You will be able to charge the battery at a rate of 5:1 (Five percent gained, one percent lost) due to it's being on, but it will work.

It does also make sense on the PSP Slim, as you normally can't charge it via USB when it's turned off, with the USB Charge Mod you can.

I did this with my PSP, but I soldered it, I think that's better.

Well this gets pretty hard with a psp 2001. Although I did fix my PSP by soldering a fuse's contacts together(or solder over the hole thing, and it was smaller than a piece of graphite or lead).

Hey all. I'm the one who came up with this idea originally. The point was to be able to do it with NO SOLDER at all since at the time, I couldn't solder. The method in the video is a slight adaptation of mine. I know this method works, and I've used it for 1-2 years this way before I learned to solder. It works the exact same.

my guess is that where you attached the wire at the it is touching with the other connectors....just make sure it does no touch the other usb pins put a piece of paper between it or somthing....just dont force anything the pins are fragile

electrical is tape is good...just make sure the wire does not make contact on the motherboards solder point....so cover ur exposed wire with tape....i used paper cuz im cheap lol

i taken mine apart and it still runs well just be careful not to like force any thing apart look up a tutorial for disasembling the psp (also there are two screws under the waranty void sticker which is located un the batter at the bottom corner on a psp 1001)

i frequently do mods like this, and completely dissassemble psp's and cases. ive never run into a problem. If you do, just dont force anything, and go slowly. read multiple tutorials and only make a move when you are sure of iits outcome.
