It's actually a glitch that also appeared in Legend and Anniversary. The game gets confused on whether lara stepped on land or on water. In Legend/Anniversary, you can also do the same thing. She steps on land but appears to be wet even if you didn't swim.
Now she died because the water was supposed to be lethal.
You act like this glitch is bad instead of hilarious :-P I deliberately aimed for the edge of the land to get this to happen, and it was rather difficult to get right, so it's not entirely Crystal D's fault.
Oh it's funny (all of your bug videos are LOL). You know we've seen so many [unnecessary] bugs, and I'm hoping to get the PC version (first time). I'm hoping CD will look at all of the feedback and release a patch.
Of course this is Eidos' fault. No telling what the deadline was -- 8 months? I mean who knows with Eidos.
Hello Mike :-) (I did suspect it was you there). Yeah, I get the feeling the game was released before it was completely ready and could have done with another couple of months of development. Apparently Crystal are working on a patch at the moment, so hopefully it'll be out before you get your game and you won't get a game murdering one like I did in Mexico.
