  • Excellent video.

  • Clearly Jesus was a gnostic. That's evident by what remains of his sayings; especially the Gospel of Thomas.

  • yeshua the christ, word of god, have mercy on me a fool.

  • Actually the hebrew's were not black at all...And the term jew did not exist back then...According to hermetic and gnostic sources. " Yeshua Ben yoseph " ( jesus ) was the son of mary, and also a roman soldier who was just a vessel..Yeshua had a high intiate as his real father..Also the christ and yeshua are 2 different being's.Yeshua the vessel..And christ a divine archangel that that came into yeshua to try to expel a the malevolent force called "Yaweh"

  • a very good video

  • I would take it one step further....yes the original followers of Jesus were most likely Gnostics. I will argue that Jesus himself was a Gnostic. Now that is something to ponder :-).

  • @mlhotz Yea that would make sense.

  • Such a good video with such an important message. I'm just glad I've found it.

  • gnosticism relates to alll people of the world aswell as ancient philosophy, new science such as metaphysichs -

the kingdom of God truly lies within, how ignorant of us to think God can be contained to just one book, and one way of thinking.

  • Funny how gnostics share the same primciple with Bhuddism, Hinduism and other eastern religions...

  • wow white man's zen

  • @christuimbirek LOL at that comment. You know both philosophy & Spirituality were originated from the Shamans of Khazars & Medeans who are mentioned in the bible many times.

  • I truly support this..Gnosticism.. I'm a Muslim though.

The place where Christian Gnostics and Sufi Muslims meet is ultimately beyond all words and doctrines being one of shared experience. "He who tastes knows" say the Sufis, reminding both the East and the West that "Gnosis is nearer to silence than to speech."

  • Most Christians dont know that their bible is a collection of books that was selected for them. And it does not contain books that were denied. Thats hundreds of books that could have been in the bible!

  • Hi,

Gnostics are the seekers of His Word. In Jesus, we have One Fold, Church of God and One Shephers, Christ Jesus. Then why we have so many divsions in the name of Christ Jesus? What position Peter holds in the Fold? Jesus told us that in My Father's House, there are many Mansions. So, where is the Mansion of Peter placed in the Fold, our Father's House?

  • the Jews and the Christians and all religions, ensnare us into a eggshell of material realm of consciousness. and to break free from the eggshell is to repent first then you can start the path of enlightenment, after that you already reached eternal bliss.

  • many scholars claim that paul was probably a gnostic. the church edited paul's epistles to support the authoritarian church

  • how can we believe the teachings or what was written by paul, he did not walk with christ when he was still alive,

  • Luke must have been a Gnostic - as he has written "The Kingdom of God is within You. " Luke 17:21

I like the school of Valentinian.

  • Ok. Very well done. What of the Orthodox Church which differs so widely from all other Western Christianity (theosis, etc.)? Also, what of 'The Philokalia' and the Desert Fathers? I know that the Orthodox Church condemned some things as heretical but not to the extent of Roman Catholicism. Could you speak on that?

  • Thank you for posting.

  • lol... too right you are

  • Brilliant video. Thanks.

  • I see now!

This is what all the fighting and killing and secrets and conspiracies is all about!

  • i am not sure if any of you know this but the bible was censored by christain scholors. They only left in what THEY thought should be left in. The bible is NOT the word of God but of man. One of the scriptures that were left out was how Jesus knew God was not a being, but a force that is so big you cannot even BEGIN to wrap your brain around it.

  • Don't you mean, people picked the books that go in the bible & thought some other books were not needed or didn't belong in the bible? That's why I find it funny that anti-Catholic Christians talk so much about the bible they think they know so much about. LOL

  • Yep What the Da Vinci Code said is right Jesus was Married and he was mortal One day and Divine the Next the Church Altered Everything thing Just like a Movie Director decides what to leave in and take out

  • @Joeyal123

Please don't mention The Da Vinci Code with Gnosticism. That book got Gnosticism so incredibly WRONG

  • @sandwichoftruthiness and is simple Madness to impress!

  • Question: Was Jesus Gods only son or just a man trying to show us how the truth can be found ?

  • If he could show us how the truth can be found, then why would he have lied about being God's son? But he also said that we are his brothers and sisters if we do his Father's will, didn't he? Therefore, we are all sons and daughters of God.

  • @ruttergod it was an indirect way of showing a universal truth but you have it pretty much figured out just think about it more and you should find the answer

  • Paul has mislead the Christians as we know it today...what confusion has he wrought upon the world, so sad. But I am glad that the TRUTH is being revealed as Christ would have it. Thank you so much Gnosticmovement for these very informative videos, peace and love to all who hears and accepts their path to knowledge and truth.

  • James was the head of the Jerusalem church not Peter - what Paul did was to free Christianity from it'd judaic element and bring it closer to neo platonism.

Without Paul Chritianity would have remained a Jewish sect . What I'm saying is don't dismiss him so radically - He was the vehicle for the gnosis to survive the fall of Jerusalem in 70 ac and reach the western world, meaning all you guys.

Feed from all but remain in the ONE.

    A fellow gnostic.

  • Thank you. I mean if you look at his letters, how can one say he's anti-gnostic? They look very pro-gnostic.

  • Why don't the ones that do not believe in what is being said here go on with your own thoughts and leave well enough alone..It's people as yourself that create havoc and you call yourself a person who understands Jesus..shame on you!

Gnostic teachings are for ones well more advanced in the reality of Christianity.

  • gnostics are most likely the original followers of Jesus. The modern day religion that calls itself christianity is a farse and product of rome

  • Exactly. Constantine used Christianity as a political tool to unite his empire., not because he actually believed.

  • @davidaud777 really? am still trying to understand this stuff but why is that some gnostics believe God is evil and satan is good while others say it the other way around lol explain this please :) am just trying to understand :)

  • Comment removed

  • @RealEros1 Because this demiurge is not God it is not perfect and as a result when it created this world it made mistakes aka why bad/evil things happen. This demiurge was either ignorant of God or was/is extremely narcissitic and wanted to take sole credit for creating life on this planet which is why it demands worship. Because of the differences in translation/limited knowledge of the ancient people there was a confusion between God and the demiurge which exists to this day.

  • @davidaud777 you are correct bro. The real Jews from the Bible all of them and the Christ are blacks . These are the blacks you That was bondaged and shipped all over the world today. says the Bible. In the pyramids and temples in Egypt today, the art on the walls depict red people (Egyptian) and the slaves black skinned people( Hebrew- Jews) .. the truth will set us free. namaste'

  • @davidaud777 Oh Dan Brown you have oodles of followers I see....

  • If your a Gnostic how do you explain the fact that your belief system of reaching enlightenment and godhood aligns with the occult and luciferianism? Why would Jesus teach things that aligned with the original sin? The serpent deceived Eve in the garden by telling her that if she ate of the fruit she would become a god. This is repeated by spirit guides (demons), hindus, buddists, mormonism, Oprah and the secret, and luciferianism. The original sin is repeated over and over. Coincidence?

  • Buddhism teaches to renounce the self (ego), which is considered an illusion in that belief system. Buddhism is not about achieving godhead or power over others. For one thing, in Buddhism, even gods die. All is impermanent. The end goal for the pure Buddhist is stop being reborn on this planet, because existing as a separate being = suffering.

  • True I agree with your statament

  • I've always seen the "Original Sin" as a metaphor for us choosing to leave behind an ignorant-happy state and choose to embrace the pain and sadness involved in the struggle to attain truth.

  • Yeshua did not teach anything that aligned with original sin.

"Lucifer" is light bringer. I.E. the intelligence, the intellect, the light that shines out from the darkness that, were it not for the dark, we would not be aware of the path to enlightenment.

Paul of Tarsus was an agent of Rome. Rather than persecute the early followers of the anointment of Christos, because killing the speakers of the word make the word more valuable, he instead corrupted it with the blessing of Pagan Rome.

  • My friend you is so right, I being trying to tell people about this but they think I have demons or somthing, that is one of the reasons I left my church!

  • Why isn't Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus considered to be mystical knowledge of the divine in the Gnostic sense?

  • no book should be held above personal experience when it comes to deciding what YOU believe in, and what YOUR purpose is in life! not what some anonymous authors think it should be. put the book down for just a moment and look around you, open your minds, explore other possibilities before you chose your path. if you have already made your mind up and chosen your path then i wish you the best of luck on your journey! i can only advise that pay more attention to the journey than the destination!

  • Gnostics are ridiculous and you should not even call yourselves "christian". U have not idea what Jesus is REALLY about.

  • Do you know who you are..does Jesus know you I doubt it because Jesus Loves everyone Gnostic etc.

  • @ILLER121 While I agree it's wrong to turn over your spiritual development to any one source if you're just going to use that as a place to hide, I think it's important for Gnostic Christians not to become a faith that is too subjective and finds itself developing its own "traditions of men." One must remember that although there is Christ in each of us, we are not above Christ himself and this temptation to believe as such is very strong within humanity. Remember the desert always. PeaceB w/u

  • @ILLER121 that was a very nice statment that you posted im gonna put that on my channel

  • Mainstream Christians, in general, are more concerned with forcing others to hear what they consider to be important. They do this rather than learn their own religion in such a way as to become a better person for their selves. Their intentions in doing this are good but it leads them away from the truer teachings of the one they call their savior. Just love each other, don't judge others; seek compassion and understanding in all things. Reyn Til Runa.

  • well said!

  • What is more noticeable in this presentation is that the teachers who are spoking don't seem at all to have the gnostic realization. They are just speaking from their minds, from what they have studied, with very little spiritual current.

Anyway, a normal presentation of the conflicts between the diferent originators of christianity

  • Nice sun imagery in the beginning of the film....

  • I wonder if i get hit by lightning and fall off a horse and see Jesus if i could start my own religion too. Like paul did

  • You could just say you were hit by lightning, fell off a horse and saw Jesus and then start your own religion.

I do not see why people bother with the teachings and hallucinations of these ancient mid eastern tribal poets. Jewish prophets are for Jews. Jewish Messiahs to. What have they got to do with you?

  • Two thumbs down for Unityspirits comment is uncalled for. You are absolutely correct, US50.

  • sylvia browne a gnostic says people dont change into angels..

  • You have to see it in a different perspective, they may not turn into angle per say but they may change well enough compared to any none spiritual person, they may seem like one. Kinda like a spiritual yogi of some sort.

  • Very interesting video. Difficult to accept some things said but the general message is very positive. Good work!

  • For people who seek spiritual knowledge you think you'd know that humans don't become angels.

  • oh dear, more misunderstandings.

The Messiah and the 12 were Jews, not Christians. Saul persecuted Jews., not Christians. Christianity didnt start to exist until after Sauls deception of conversion. and teachings. And its all been a downward spiral since.

If the gnosis knew anything true, they would know the Messiah taught us how to follow the Law in order to live righteously.

Saul is the one who made it all about Faith, which is subjective.

Saul is the 2nd beast Rev 13.

    the mark, the cross

  • Ah...but which Law are you in favor of souloperative?

The Law Natural and Common, the awareness of which the Christ and his workers were attempting to take to the unwashed masses?

Or the Law Canonical of Rome...and all its slavish Divine Righters?

  • The Christ is an origin of South Korea.

A lot of people do not know in the world.

The South Korean discovers the origin of the history of the world.

  • i just went through the whole book of Galatians and i couldnt find your "Paul vs Peter" thing (send us the verse) also Christ came to paul and turned his life around(Acts9:4-20) so how does his go against Christ?... Celibacy works with the biblical law and with what Jesus said about looking at people in lust is automatic adultry( donot pass go---> off to jail)

  • Paul never met Jesus not heard a single sermon. he took roman myth and created a God/man. similar to osirus

  • The treatment of Apostle Paul in this video is a little surprising.

Paul was regarded as immensely authoritative amongst the earliest Christian Gnostic Christians. The Marcion "canon" is mostly comprised of Pauline writings, etc.

I think it is very difficult for many people to look at the extant text of the Pauline corpus without unconsciously reading in a lot of much later ideas and controversies into their own examination of the text.

  • Marcion was a dualist, but wasn't really a Gnostic since he didn't place emphasis on the need to acquire esoteric knowledge or Gnosis.

  • Elaine Pagels has a harder to find book called "The Gnostic Paul" which interprets Paul in a Gnostic reading. The Valentinian Gnostics actually traced their gnosis to Paul's secret gnosis. Paul's stuff can be profoundly gnostic in the right light.

If you look in some gnostic texts like the Gospel of Thomas, Peter is the one who represents the public non-gnostic teachings.

Tragic result of the loss of so much gnostic teachings thanks to Catholic persecution :(

  • I have just begun my search in Gnosticism and seem to have uncovered something. I wonder if anyone else has noticed that much of the teachings have scientific counterparts?

    1) True reality (The ONE) is unknowable:

    - The Heisenberg uncertainty principle

    2) Seek and you shall find:

    - Cognitive Awareness principles

    3) The Material Realms were created of Energy and Light.

    E=MC2

    4) If you have Pistis (knowledge) anything is possible

    - Get an excavator for the hill.

    And more.

  • In the beginning was the Word (LOGOS--"wisdom'; 'knowledge"), the Word was with God, and the Word was Good.

The serpent in the garden enticed man to gain knowledge.

Just as knowledge took us away from God, so will knowledge take us back to him.

    God is knowledge.

  • JESUS reconciled us to GOD by his shedding blood on the cross.JESUS said i am the truth the life and the way,NO MAN cometh to the FATHER but by me,there is no other way.

  • And if Jesus really did say those words, he was wrong. But, the betting is he did not say those words. Jesus was simply a man among men and no more the son of god than you and I, although I'd be the first to suggest that Jesus, Mahomet, Abraham, Cain and Abel, Siddhartha, Lao Tzu AND you and me are all children of god (god used in place of a better word, which better word I have not yet found)

  • Yes. Yahweh in Old Testament took the role as the Demiurge.

  • You feel this, don't you? With minor shifts in nuance, I am totally behind what you're saying. . ..good for you!

  • cool

  • Do gnostics believe that Jesus came in the flesh?

  • Yes we do. So don't go down that anti-Christ road...

  • taking The Bible as the Word of God is a path of faith and repentance, but there it seems to me and pardon me that the path of gnosis is about especulation, intelectualism and rejection to the idea that the mission of Jesus is Clear in the Bible

Jesus himself teached the light has to be placed were EVERYBODY can be reached by the Light, what is the point of Jesus hidding the light beyond secrets and misterious doctrines???

  • The point is that some people can only understand things up to a small degree. People are like grade schoolers, and that is who the bible was for, much like a school book. Others, like the disciples, were much more advanced in their knowledge, like grad students, and required far more in-depth explainations and examples.

Everybody can be reached by the light, but some will naturally do more with it than others.

What that is mysterious to most is clearly comprehended by others.

  • Was the apostle John gnostic?

  • Yes, but his editors in the 4th century were not.

  • religion = war

  • Yes, and this was predicted as well.

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." , Matthew 10:34

  • What do Gnostics believe in the nature of Jesus Christ? Has this belief changed since the 1st, 2nd, 3rd centuries? If so, why?

  • i don't know if much has changed but Jesus never claimed to be God, he personified God through his actions. His mission was intended only for the "lost sheep" since they have been under the spell of the Demiurge. That's it but Christianity added more flavor to it and Paul mainstreamed it. But the idea is still one and the same. We follow the path of enlightenment and then we will realize that we are actually one with the Source. That's gnosis we can achieve by shedding off religious beliefs

  • "What do Gnostics believe in the nature of Jesus Christ? Has this belief changed since the 1st, 2nd, 3rd centuries? If so, why? "

Good question. Around the 1st and 2nd century there were actually many christianities that differed far greater than any demonimation today! We had gnostic christians who believed in secret teachings which could enable one to be saved from their material body which was entrapped in this world by an evil god some believed was the god of the Old Testament.

  • Why are these teachings a secret? Why would Jesus want to keep his purpose for coming to earth a secret (John 3:16)? Why was his message for a select few and not everyone?

  • To those who do not understand parables, those teachings may also be considered exclusive. The people in the video are talking about the experiential side of their master's teaching, and no master writes those down. They are only passed by word of mouth. He says "Seek and ye shall find." Mystical paths are that "seeking."

  • where you even listioning he just said they reason it's secret is because paul did not agree wih it

  • No, but we must to be ready to understand before we can learn. Just as the Disciples did in Acts 2:1-4 Gnosis requires an awakening of the Spirit within us before the Journey can begin. Faith is counter to Gnosis as it stops us from seeking by fooling us into thinking we have found truth without evidence.

Pistis is belief based on evidence, not blind faith. We must open our eyes to the evidence to see the truth. Just as Sophia had to learn for herself the first and second Gnosis.

  • hah yes ...but not the God of the old testament as such ...the person is both God and his counterpart equally divided .The material body being the Devil which is open to being strayed from the righteous path God on the other hand is the energy and light placed within in us thats gives us the choice to rever back to the path of goodness

  • there is no devil its a myth. a story to scare children into submission.

  • Im right there with you bro!

  • Continued

There were also Jewish-Christian Adoptionists who believed Jesus was adopted at his baptism, and some gnostics believed that during his baptism he wasn't so much adopted as a divine presence having entered him and left him the moment before his death (hence the Cry of Dereliction where Jesus says, "My God, My God, why have you abandoned me?" See Gospel of Mark). Others were Marcionites who believed he was 100% divine. These beliefs come books that didn't make it to the New Testament

  • a little heavy on the "christ" and a little light on the "gnosis".

  • All is forgiven when you repent,

go now live in the moment and stay clean.

  • question for Gnostics. When I left the christian faith i called the Holy Spirt 'evil' and now as I am returning to Christ I am thinking I comitted the unforgivable sin. Can a Gnostic enlighten me on this issue?

  • Well, I think Jesus would ask you why you feel that way. God is a forgiving soul because WE are forgiving souls. You have to accept what you've done and forgive yourself.

And let's not forget the completeness of the Holy Spirit. Technically, the Spirit is evil because it is everything. the fact that you have an idea of evil tells you that evil is, in fact, holy.

  • Yes true. Basically Holy Spirit is what helps us to ascend into a higher plane of conscienceness (in my opinion) and denial of it will prevent you from ascending. That is just my own belief.

  • Unfortunately the soul wishing to be enlightened must first be undarkened.

In order to achieve enlightenment , it must first understand why it is darkened and how the darkness can be removed. Only God can undarken the soul. Having knowledge is one thing, but the enlightened soul is able to demonstrate it's divinity through acts of power (miracles, signs and wonders)

The bible gently reminds us that our sins are the cause of darkness within us.

  • You must first actually know the holy spirit to blasphemy it. It's not a matter of what you said, it's a matter of if you know the truth and then purposely tell lies and work against the truth. As you did not know the truth or the holy spirit, you couldn't have blasphemed against it. You were just poor in spirit, and still blessed, as once you actually find the truth and the holy spirit you will embrace it.

  • I knew the Holy Spirit, I didn't comprehend the sin but shortly after writing this comment I figured it all out. If anyone wants me to elaborate just pm me and I'll inform you.

  • True, after Jesus performed his exorcism with the man, knowing that only those with pure spirit can actually perform a feat like that, people around ironically accused him as belzebuub. It was outright blasphemous since it was clear that it was the work of the holy spirit. I would assume that the people really knew that it was the holy spirit who made that possible but still they refused to concede. That was unforgivable since it tarnished the integrity of the holy ones. twas like throwing mud

  • At least part of the Holy Spirit manifests itself in what we usually call our conscience: to blaspheme this part of the Holy Spirit is certainly possible, when we willfully sin. In the Gospel of Thomas Jesus said, "Whoever blasphemes against the Father will be forgiven, and whoever blasphemes against the son will be forgiven, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either on earth or in heaven."

  • um then what did jesus die for if we can not be forgiven when we sin

  • You may be sure - people can be forgiven through repentance.

  • hey jenny .. whats up...

    im matt

  • Paul may well have done more to destroy "True" Christianity than anyone in history. Check out the DVD _The God Who Was Not There_ for some great info on Paul's incredible lack of knowledge and own self-serving agenda. Modern Christianity should more accurately be named "Paulism."

  • Anti: What a nice try to circumvent the forgery, giving it another name. What`s the difference, when it changes the meaning of the text ? And again, how many other texts have been destroyed or forged because they did not fit into the vision of the author ? One forgery, makes the" whole" suspect.

  • o dear u clearly dont understand what interpolation means and what it entails.

And u still have not answered that we can identify the original writing without the interpolations by extracting the more commital statements and less familiar vocabulary we still end up with a statement about Jesus that matches up the same as an arabic version which has not been interpolated.

  • Very nice work!

    KOOOOOOOL!

    Well done!

  • december 21 end of the world what religious believe that?

  • you all are so dam people," whoever believe Jesus is not a son of god okay he is the just like you and me and he already dead.

  • Anti" Your comment on Josephus ? When you go to court and you present a document falsified intensionally to proof your case, your whole case becomes suspect.

  • ITs generally agreed that the golden paragraph is forged, by taking out the suspect parts which do not fit the vocabulary or style of Josephus we still have an account of Jesus, and an arabic manuscript of Josephus lacks all the suspect parts which further give evidence of interpolation as opposed to forgery

  • "ITs generally agreed that the golden paragraph is forged"

i meant is not forged, but that it is interpolated

  • Antisuncretism: It baffles me, that 2.000 years after the facts, without outside info, you are so sure of what you believe, yet all those jewish scribes, contemporaries rejected him. Theyknew the Torah and the prophecies, better than you, I think. Why did they reject him ?

  • Jesus was not esoteric

John 18:20:""I have spoken openly to the world," Jesus replied. "I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret."

  • Then the disciples came and said to him, "Why do you speak to them in parables?" And he answered them, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

    (Matthew 13:10-13)

  • John 18:20:""I have spoken openly to the world," Jesus replied. "I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret."

Jesus does not contradict himself the secrets given were just told in the parable and the apostles questioned his use of parables. Read on to Matthew 13:15.

  • "With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it. He did not speak to them without a parable, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything." (Mark 4: 33-34).

The private teachings to the discples are in the Gnostic texts. As Jesus mentions, he doesn't give these openly because people who aren't given to know the "secrets of the kingdom" will just reject these esoteric teachings, because "though having ears they do not hear".

  • he meant the parables and that people couldnt understand him.

    What gnostic texts

  • He actually said he encoded teachings in parables so that people on the "outside" (who lacked Gnosis) would not perceive. The Gnostics understood.

"And when he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables. And he said to them, "To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables, so that "they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand..."

  • So u find out what the parables mean ...ur point

  • The point is that with Gnosis you get to understand the "secrets of the kingdom of heaven". Also Jesus taught esoterically, since he had private hidden teachings as mentioned in biblical gospels. It makes you wonder - what else did he say to the disciples in private? That's where the Gnostic Gospels come in.

  • That previous quote was from Mark 4: 10-12.

An example of a private esoteric teaching he gave to the disciples is the Book of Thomas the Contender. The people lacking Gnosis were not taught openly as in that text, as they would reject it, so Jesus didn't "cast pearls before swine". To such people it had to be given in parables "lest they turn again and rend you".

  • Anti; "he mentions Jesus as the brother of James "

So Jesus had a brother. Was he also conceived by the holy spirit? Another fairy tale !!!!

  • "they were easy for people to accept"

2 Peter 3:15-16:"Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction."

  • Anti: Well, GREAT. I agree with you. All those different fairy.tale books, called the bible, corroborate each other . Satisfied ?? Now prove that those corroborated books contain anything else than fantasy.

  • ..U DID IT AGAIN, are u scared of something how about u reply are hoping i dont see ur comment so u have the last word without me knowing.

U want me to prove the Truth to you...lazy boy why cant u people ever do your own research, find out about these, Tacitus, Josephus, black obelisk, Irenaeus, Ignatius, Origen, Phlegon, Talmud, Eusebius, Papias, Daniels prophecy of ALexander the great, the 70 weeks prophecy and etc.

  • Anti: There is no reason to blow your top my friend, we are talking about fairy tales here. How do you dare mention Josephus, when you know very well that Josephus has been tempered with. And if that is so, it makes other testimonies very suspiscious.

  • fairy tales u seem to know so little about the Bible id wonder if u even know what u are calling fairy tales.

Josephus' passage about Jesus yes was tampered i know that but it was not all made up the original exists without the suspect interpolations in an arabic translation of the work.

As for the other mention of Jesus he mentions Jesus as the brother of James when recounting the event of James' death by stoning

  • Anti : ""id wonder if u even know what u are calling fairy tales."

A fairy tale sir, is a story that has nothing to do with reality . And the bible is full of it.

  • statement without evidence happily dismissed without evidence

  • anti:"statement without evidence happily dismissed without evidence "

Religion or anything else without evidence happily dismissed, indeed.

  • i already listed evidences so u cant dismiss those without evidence, but u just stating that the Bible is a fairy tale book can be dismissed without evidence, btw u never explained away my comment on ur comment on Josephus

  • i didnt ask for a definition of fairy tales, but since you know so little about the Bible id wonder if u have enough competence of it to even know what u are calling a fairy tale

  • Anti: Sorry but you make me laugh with all your outside evidence for the gospels: I take another one: Tacitus, did you ever read it ? He says basically that this nasty sect of christians, whose founder was crucified in Judea, was persecuted by Nero as a scapegoat for the fire of Rome. How does this prove the salvation story ?

  • "Christian gnosticism"

    contradiction, gnosticism is not Christian

  • Antisecretism:You still showed ur incredible ignorance by saying the Bible does not corroborate, learn before u even state the Bible as wrong"

That`s exactly my advice for you, because you have no clou, what`s in the bible.

  • YOU DID IT AGAIN, STOP BEING SUCH A SNEAK AND REPLY.

"you have no clou, what`s in the bible"

ha an ignorant telling me i have no clue whats in the Bible, ive read the whole Bible, and read books in it multiple times ive read all the books the Torah at least twice, ive read Jeremiah 4 times, ive read Ephesians 5 times, James 3 times, Psalms 3 times etc.

Ive read eight TNTC commentaries on books of the Bible, one NICOT, 1 BST, and am reading "Letters and Homiles for Jewish Christians" now.

  • Dont be such an idiot to assume i know nothing about the Bible when i havent stated anything wrong of it to you as of yet and just assume im a biblically illiterate american.

When ive read the whole Bible and then read some of the books again AND read commentaries on the books, i think i know more than you as im sure u havent even read all of Genesis have you. And i have the sense to realise that multiple documents=corroboration.

  • Antis: I am not interested in the questionif the bible has one or a thousand authors.

It`s still a pile of nonsense.

  • Again how underhanded of u, instead of replying u just post hoping to have the last word without me knowing.

The Bible does not have one thousand authors. In it there are books such as Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Joshua, Matthew, Acts

these are multiple works and so they corroborate.

"It`s still a pile of nonsense."

    statement without evidence dismissed.

You still showed ur incredible ignorance by saying the Bible does not corroborate, learn before u even state the Bible as wrong

  • I feel you are wrong and would love to point out some flaws. Contact me if you care.

  • Antisyncretism: OH yes , they do. See the meaning of "corroborate

". In the eyes of the believers, their holy book corroborates itself, because they have no OUTSIDE evidence.

  • did u cowardly post without actually replying to me........

U obviously dont understand what corroborate means it means where a MULTIPLICITY of texts cooperate on agreeing on certain facts.

Book of Mormon is one book..

    quran is one book...

Bible is; Malachi, Matthew etc multiplicity of books.

And yes there is extrabiblical corroboration, but dont change the subject this was about the Bible corroborating itself and if u dont believe it does u are very VERY biblically illiterate

  • Anti "if u dont believe it does u are very VERY biblically illiterate "

And if you believe it you are very VERY naif.

How can fairy tales corroborate themselves ? Corroborate means " to confirm" Give me that extrabiblical cooroboration. Thank you.

  • U need to learn what corroborate means, it does not mean confirm.

Such corroborations for various events in the Bible are; Balaam inscription from Tell Deir Alla, the black obelisk, Tacitus' Annals, Irenaeus, Clement of Rome, Origen, Ignatius, and so on.

  • So if u dont believe the Bible corroborates itself are u saying it has only one author

  • so if u are saying the Bible doesnt corroborate itself are u saying that it is only ONE work and not many works...

  • John Lamb lash HATES this idea of Christian gnosticism as he claims it is a prepostrous contradiction

  • I see a problem, in the beginning of the vid, it says people can become angels...but they cant. I am a christian but men cant be angels.

  • But how do you know? What makes you sure that people can't become angels?

  • nightmarescrib,

"The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?"

    --John 10:33-34 (KJV)

  • Your point? no offense just trying to understand. How could men be angels when angels were created before humans?

  • For when they shall rise from the dead, they... are as the angels which are in heaven (Mark 12:25).

To rise from dead is to awaken from the state we are in to become a spiritual being (angel), and this is done by walking the spiritual path. This can't be proven by quotes from the bible however. The only way to know if this is possible is to get on that path.

  • nightmarescrib,

Don't worry, no offense was taken :) It applies because Jesus himself is reminding the pharisees "Ye are gods." Most people's beliefs around angels are based in word of mouth, not spiritual text. In the Apocryphon of John, Jesus talks about the angels having deficiencies so falling and mixing with man, until they rise again. Just like the prodigal son in Luke 15. If an angel can fall, then surely they can repent and rise again.

    Best wishes,

  • I disagree about what Jesus was saying in that text. Jesus was not telling them that they are gods. Only one God man. So in your belief, Satan can repent so to speak and rise again if he wanted to?

  • If "Satan" is a person, then why not? But for this reason I don't think Satan can be a person but is more like a name for pure Evil, not an actual separate self-aware entity, as opposed to a demon who is a being who can repent.

  • Satan is an angel, and i dont really think he can...plus God is going to kill him so it really doesnt matter

  • nightmaresscrib: Satan is the most childish and lucrative invention of religion.

  • um...it seems like ur implying that Satan isnt real. But if your not implying that...then uh...yeah, duh lucrative and evil and all that bad stuff.

  • "I am not sure why Hellenistic influences would be strange considering the time and place of those Gospels."

One hellenistic influence would obviously be language to communicate to the now standard language of the main areas where the gospel was first preached, but the gospels should be seen as Jewish, they were written by Jews and frequently quoting the OT note NOT greek works but the Jewish OT.

U can verify what the Bible says since it corroborates itself as it is not one text but many.

  • Antisyncretism "U can verify what the Bible says since it corroborates itself as it is not one text but many"

The Quran corroborates itself too and so does the "Book of Mormons "

  • no they dont, both those are only one text

  • oops sorry rutter wasnt replying to u...oops nvm me.

  • Believing doesn't make a difference in matters of the spirit because the basis of spiritual growth lyies within what we are as an individual human being, our defects, and what we do to change. We can read to believe or not, or we can do so with the aim of getting insights into spirituality, life and the way to enlightenment. It's vital to question ourselves, what we think we know, and search for the truth. We can't just accept or reject everything, it would keep us stucked and unable to learn.
