dude u are not going to catch a beaver in that he will look at that thing and stick his tooth in it and leave while laughing ... u need a bigger trap im not trying to be a mean guy just saying though
it is alot easier to set a trap on your leg. just look it up and you will find out. i used to set them like you do until if saw how to do it the other way.
hey bro no fense but that way works for the smaller traps but once u get up to a #5 longspring that way is ineffective im getting video camera for christmas and ill show how i do it but u basically just put the trap on your thigh and one spring under one of your legs and push the other spring with your hand and with your free hand u set the dog(trigger). i hope i held stay true.stay real
@icettrap thats not a number 2. Thats a longspring trap man. this trap has a 4inch or so width, you need to learn more before you try and say somthing, son.
@mikethetrapper8880 that is a number 2 leghold they size from 0--4 u call them what u want but us indians call em #2,s if you look on the lip there should be a 2 if it was a 3 it would say 3
coolvideo, but that trap is made for smaller animals such as mink, muskrat, raccoon. beaves have very large feet my friend, anyways goodluck out there. need any tips on water trapping mink , rat' . coon, er anything just ask, let me know if ya got anything bro,
@mikethetrapper8880 that #2 leghold work great for beaver in drown sets and also very affective for lynx.and they will hold a wholverine also overall a great trap for multiple kinds of animals
also if you had some beaver castor it would make your beaver trapping a lot easier a little castor from another beaver from a diffrent location he will come to check out the castor the scent from another beaver in the spring i will show you some drown sets
ha haaa great video #2 leghold used to be my favourite trap to set but for beaver you cant just set that trap and catch him he Will get his foot out you need to run a cable with a pole 6 feet under water with a lock and drown him great video 5*
theres a easiyer way then steping on it! just fold it over your knee and you get alot of leverage....
