I much prefer Bloc Party's version, as it's sung with so much more conviction and emotion, this just sounds like a half-arsed attempt at singing it. This version gets boring. Also, the "So here we are reinventing the wheel... dripping down the sides of you", which is easily the most powerful part of the song, feels and sounds so much more important and is sung like it is really meant on Bloc Party's version. This isn't a bad cover, at least it makes it its own, but I much prefer Bloc Party.

Tunng's version of the song The Pioneers has a more orderly tone compared to the Bloc Party version of the song. Bloc Parties had heavy focus on the vocals and in my taste therefore eliminating any chance of instrumental work to be fitted into the melody and rhythm past the singers gaping monotone depths some call a vocal. Hmm, there seems to be an awfully big controversy over this song.

In my opinion, Bloc Party's version of this song was unnecessarily annoying and childish. Tunng took it, wrote absolutely beautiful guitar tabs and vocal harmonies, and added a sense of calm and mystery to the song. It's fantastic.
