  • I had no idea he was deceased....Here I was thinking he was still alive. I love ALL of his music...so soothing.

  • He's been dead almost 10 years now from colon cancer I believe.

  • Yes, you crossed my mind, George...you are missed, buddy...thank you for the music...:)

  • I remember this song being played on my quiet storm station here in the Bay Area back in the early 90s. This was a great song, then poof I stopped hearing it played on the radio. Six or seven years later Brian McKnight comes out with Anytime and I always thought Brian plaguerized the hook to this song. Listen to both song and there's almost, but not quite a similarity. Still, to me this song owns...RIP GEORGE HOWARD. Thanks for the post.

  • anytime!

  • @simpsoy - Not only did Brian 'borrow' the hook. He 'borrowed' the melody for Anytime from Me'Shell Ndegeocello's Outside your door. Clever guy that Brian, surefire way to ensure Anytime would be a hit.

  • @simpsoy - I remember The Quiet Storm out there, I used to listen to it at night, when I was in high school. Was it still KBLX in the early 90's? I know it's now the oldies R&B station there, since KDIA became defunct, and KSOL began playing a different genre.

Yeah, Brian McKnight's hook is almost identical.

In the early or mid 90's, there was a George Howard video of him walking along a beach, playing a fluegelhorn. Does anyone know the name of the song for that video?

  • I LOVE THIS SONG w/ a PASSION

  • what happen to him ?

  • He died of colon cancer back in the 1990's.

  • I have been looking for this song since 1996 when I lost it in Korea. I didn't know who sang it.

    thank you much

  • anytime.

  • George Howard was a very talented jazz artist. And yes he was taken away from us to soon.great music, one of a kind.

  • Thanks for adding this song. George was an outstanding guy and is truly missed.

  • He was out the same time with Kenny G was out. Back then they shoved Kenny down our throats,George was pushed to the side. That's why people know Kenny more than George. Conduct your own survey.
