One of the most underrated movies ever. I'm a big fan of time travel movies, and this one belongs in any sci fi buff collection alongside the original BTTF which remains THE greatest time travel movie EVER, Groundhog Day (even if it's more a repetition of the same day and not legit time travel), Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure (think Wayne World + Time Machine) and also HG Wells original Time Machine flick .

I love this movie. Did yall know Garth Brooks was actually asked to write a song for this movie, and he wrote When You Come Back To Me Again (my favorite song of his) for his mom, who's life had been claimed by breast cancer. But again, this is an awesome movie. Probably my all time favorites.

Trivia: David Frost interviews real-world author Brian Greene twice during this film (seen on the background TV), and if you've read Greene's books about "string theory" you can perhaps understand why even these interviews are important to the film storyline--"string theory" (as explained well by Greene in his books) postulates...and even DEMANDS...the existence of dimensions in time and space beyond those which are perceivable to our senses. And who knows what oddities will be found there.

I certainly agree too--this film is one in the handful of my own personal favorites, and it's one of the most finely-crafted movies ever produced. From the writing to the acting to the editing...just excellent all the way through.

And on top of all that? It's FICTION, too...pure fiction.

It's very, VERY, difficult to write a fictional screenplay that hangs together as well as this one does. If the other screenplays I see are any guide, that is....

I loved the BTF trilogy...particularly the first film...but Frequency is a "time travel" movie on another level entirely, IMO.

Not to mention one of the best films I've ever seen...regardless of genre.

The song is entitled "When You Come Back To Me Again," and is sung by Garth Brooks. SOME version of it is now available on CD, too...on his "Scarecrow" CD.

I don't know if it's the exact version heard at the end of the film or not...but I would gamble, myself--I find it difficult to believe there are TWO versions out there, somehow (when it was impossible to find even one for so long).

Elizabeth Mitchell played Juliet on 'Lost' her characters name is Julia. Shawn Doyle appeared in an episode of Lost as well, his character's name in this film is Jack Shepard. Hmm, one of the writers of this film had to went on to work on Lost, too much of a coincidence.

I just watched it and had a weird as hell feeling as i never cried at all when the father and son first realise they're talking to each other when i first watched it, but then i did right now as my dad passed in 2002 so got me thinking i must've watched it before then, and then again right now. Awesome movie, a modern classic if you ask me. I fell in love with this film when I saw it on tv a few years back, now I own a copy on DvD ($5 bucks at Wal-Mart, dirt cheap for such a great film). I highly recommend Frequency, and it certainly is an underrated movie. It's a good father-son movie.
