The problem with the S2000 is the lack of low end torque. They are NOT drag cars. Cornering is where they excel! I love my S2000, but I really hate the fact that it has no low end torque. So easy to stall.
I get the feeling most of you people posting comments have never driven an S2k. It does not have the power you all think it might and therefore can not launch like you assume.
As for r/t. I could care less I was simply playing with launch techniques to get the best E/T.
O man Reaction time isnt looking so hot Yo!! take off on the last yellow by the time you react the light will be green. pick up those RPM's too it will help if it gets spinning too much feather the gas a bit during wheel spin.
Sorry man but you just don't know how to drive it. My buddy took me in his 2 days ago and slammed me in my seat so hard and he doesn't know how to drive a stick.
Rev it to like 7 next time if you aren't already - it launches perfectly - 8 if the track is really sticky - i got a video up of me launching mine at Etown - check it out
I've tried clutch slip launches as well as sidesteps. A 7k sidestep even with controlled tire spin gave me the exact same 60' time as a 5k clutch slip.
I have played with tire pressure as well and have not had any promising changes. I'll check out your video though.
def not 7 i drive an 02 s2000 and you launch at like 5 if you launch at 7 you are going to roast your clutch if you don't wanna sit there and spin tires. at 7 your in vtec and 240hp is too much power for lauching little car

At what altitude? The altitude of this track is much higher than many which causes higher times than other tracks in the same car.
