  • STEAL? More like Bust hahaha.

  • better than hodgson

  • @huycena1995 yes i know (: its just that ive never heard him speak french before .

  • Shuuut the fuck gary... Jordan Schoeder.

  • @ArchieAngel96 Probobly beacause he was born in Montreal...

  • @shortpeoplecity yeah i know, i just never heard him speak french lol .

  • he was ranked #5 among North American skaters. So for the canucks to get him at 22nd overall, is a steal

  • 5'8 represent! ... too bad for him that he wont be getting the #19 like he might be used to.

  • 2010 vancouver draft pick was awesome. nothing

  • @xukhiga Actually it was a potential Team USA Dman, named Ballard.

  • Jesus Christ, Pierre shut the fuck up.

  • 0:00 - 0:06

    luongo is so handsome <3

  • WHAT A STEAL wow

  • Did anyone else see his comparable?

    STEVE YZERMAN

  • not asking canucks fanboys...but i wonder if itd be better if the devils took him instead of jacob josefson? josefson was also a hjuge steal for the devils so we'll have to see

  • @BuLLeTx87 Hard to say at this point, I really like Josefson and think he will develop into a great two way player who puts up ppg in his prime. Schroder I see as a Patrick Kane Lite probably putting up ppg as well but not as good defensively as Josefson. Schroeder has better wheels. Both I am sure will very good nhl players.

  • Can't wait to see him in a Canucks uniform!

  • This kid is a stud watch out for him... wish he was still MN property..

  • 5'9 and 175.

  • Leadership coming up through the ranks. Hodgson or Schroeder will be captain Canuck in the future.

  • Louy could devour Schredder.

  • Actually, Minnesota hates Vancouver but Vancouver just doesn't give them much attention...not an attack on the Wild but as a Canucks fan, I know we don't give much though to the Wild.

  • Damn, looks like a great sniper grab for us.

  • should be in Minnesota but will be exciting to watch be a Canuck

  • He's an absolute steal at # 22.... you can tell by his voice, he's nowhere near to being fully developed yet, and he was maybe the best player on team USA at WJuniors

  • I never knew lu spoke french lol

  • @barkleysound he's from montreal!

  • LETS GET THE CUP NUCKS WOO

  • I hear he is doing pretty bad in college. I also heard that the college program he is in sucks. Anyone know for sure?

  • @Cocknockerofl You heard right. It's the same program Garth Snow pulled Okposo out of mid-season. A lot of Gopher fan are calling for head coach Lucia's head. A lot of NHL draftee on that team and not a whole lot of production. Two goals for Schroeder in his first pro game with Moose.

  • Welcome to Canucks's organisation Jordan!

    What a steal!

  • He will decide one way or another if this weekend if he turns pro big weekend for the Nucks ...

  • Can't wait till he plays with the Canucks

  • Looks like a good small kid you can take a hit

  • Jordan Schroeder FTW!!!!!! cant wait till he plays with the canucks

  • im a wild fan but i hope he plays awesome, and kicks our ass. we all will be proud that hes from minnesota :)

  • He was ranked 5th among all North American skaters. We got him with the 22nd pick. Yeah, I'd say quite a steal.

In other words, I would rather have Schroeder at 22 than any other player that was still currently available.

  • He was a steal at the 22nd spot. He was Team USA's leading scorer at the World Juniors last Christmas. Most scouts had him going at 10-15.

  • Also, Bob McKenzie even called him a steal in this video.

  • @Jericho2k7 pierre mcguire did also.

  • mike gillis is an excellent drafter.

  • man this guys a sniper...aka naslund...grat pick..

  • 100% steal

  • Luongo is bi-lingual

  • More like tri-lingual. He knows Spanish too.

  • Pretty sure it was Italian? =/

  • Oh yeah my bad lol

I get those mixed up pretty easily.

  • he is going to look good with hodgson

  • this guy went to my highschool

  • fucker

  • my sister went out with him in 6th gradehaha

  • @KONVICTPRODUCTIONS

    ??????????????

  • Steal of the Draft!!!! Pat Kane v.2 without the cab robberies.

Edler dishes the puck up ice to Hodgson who saucers it down low to Schroeder, HE SCORES!!!!

    SNIPE SHOW!

He made KippruSOFT look like a minor leaguer that time.

  • @vancitiesfinest69 Lol Kane went straight to the NHL and almost put up a point a game. I wouldn't say he's as talented as Kane.

  • @mroscoe Kane went right into the NHL because the Chicago Blackhawks were worst team in the NHL for a long while. He played 1st line minutes immediately.

  • @vancitiesfinest69 you're pushin it with the Kane comparison, but he is a sick player and I think people read too much into the size, he'll do well, Vancouver has a tough lineup to crack right now though

  • @vancitiesfinest69 lol where's that in the minors you fag

  • Luuuuuu

  • GO CANUCKS GOO...SCHROEDER is definetly a steal =D

  • knucks future right there

  • He said when he gets the chance to play in the NHL, he wants to play Minnesota and wants to beat them

  • haha thats awesome

  • Size size size....thereon flurey size size size marty st louis size size size pavel bure....size size size maurice richard....you dont have to be big to be great and besides hes only 18 and has the second highest bench press in his age group all you guys who talk before you see are fucking stupid....and im going to laugh when he is one of the best players out of this first round in the next few years. GO CANUCKS

  • was Luongo wearing the same suit as the one he was wearing at the awards? lol

  • What kills me is seeing Bettman on the stage slapping GM's on the back like old chums. Bettman's contract is up this year and if the team owner's vote to keep him as the NHL's president then they're all either drunk or stoned.

  • this guy's great and we got a good pick don't get me wrong but we should of went for a few local kids

  • See, Vancouver's philosophy before Gillis was draft local. They drafted a lot of players who were either from Vancouver or WHL based. Remember Taylor Ellington in 07 second round? I don't think that they have had that much success with that philosophy, I like Gillis' Best Player Available strategy, feel that it works much better. Btw, watch out for Anton Rodin, he is amazingly good.

  • Comment removed

  • Burke/Nonis had the best player available strategy. The strategy works, unless your perception of the best player available is WAAAY off.

  • They clearly didn't, even our head scout came out and said that we favored local kids or WHL grads. 2 picks come to mind, Evan Fuller and Taylor Ellington, a monkey could have told you that they weren't the best player available at those picks, but they picked them anyway.

  • Not even close there with that local boy stuff. What about Grabner? Schneider? White? Shirokov? Kesler? Sedins? So much for your philosophy there. I thought that you needed to know something about hockey if you were going to post about it.

  • Sort of reminds me of Cliff Ronning

  • cmon don't discriminate against short ppl like me

  • wow, every one of his highlight goals is a roof shot...beauty!!! go canucks!!

  • call the cops cause vancouver stole the draft !!!!!

  • Ha ha, there's me at 3:25

  • i couldnt help but notice.. his shirt's not ironed. LOL but nevertheless. greatt pick

  • lol it was probably like that cuz he was sitting for so long ;)

  • Go Canucks!

  • what a shorty 5'8'? ??

  • patrick kane is 5'8, size isn't that big of an issue

  • Great pick by Vancouver. Unbelievable he dropped that far.

  • Steal of the draft by far

  • Schroeder is a good pick. I look forward to seeing how him and Hodgson will turn out.

  • I hope in the end Minnesota regrets not getting this guy!

  • lol yea and his favourite player was nick backstrom

  • we also got steve anthony in the 7th round...a guy that was once projected as a top 5 pick 2 or 3 years ago. The guy has huge talent just had interview issues.

  • You guys got a steal in the draft. I can't believe so many other teams just passed over him because of his size. He's an excellent player. He was ranked 5th in the NHL among North American players before the draft. Better than the Leafs' draft pick.

  • umm no. Kadri has way more raw skill than Schroeder for sure. The Leafs picked the best scorer available at the time and succeeded. Burke didn't want a playmaker which is what Schroeder is. Schroeder is good but not as good

  • No matter how many scorers the Leafs get, Burke has no idea what an NHL goalie is. The first thing he tried to do in Anaheim was get rid of Giguere, good luck every doing anything in the playoffs (if they ever get there, lol)

  • hey young princess, mark my words, kadri is going to be an arrogant bust

  • Wow you sound like an expert... Arrogant and a bust? hmm. How bout you actually watch him play before you make a prediction. Me, being a london knights fan and seeing games, I know hes good and i cant see a bust in him. Scroeder, with his size could easily be a bust. Get your facts straight

  • I agree, Kadri won't be a bust, but Schroeder has put up impressive numbers. He has great vision and great hockey IQ & great 2way. Size doesn't matter with the New NHL. Zach Parise, Martin St. Louis, Brian Gionta & Pat Kane are all small and they are definitely not "Busts".Central Scouting ranked Jordan 4th overall for North American skaters and Kadri was 15th. I'm not saying Jordan will be better than Kadri and vise versa, but for you to say "with his size, could easily be a bust" is wrong.

  • Im definetely not saying Schroeder is going to be a bust but im just sayin for sure Kadri will make it. For Schroeder, it may be a bit longer

  • I have seen kadri play and I think that he is a good player, but I don't think that he is any safer a pick than schroeder. Schroeder may be short but he is stronger than most kids in the draft. Also, schroeder is playing against older and more physically developed players. If you want to look at accomplishments, Schroeder leads a very good US junior team in points while Kadri is yet to make the canadian team. So I don't feel that kadri is any safer than schroeder is.

  • your a fuckin dumbass, jsut wait and see, if you actaully watch him play, you would know hes arrogant you dumbass, hes a puckhog..

  • I actually watch him play. Im a london knights fan. are you blind or just not using your eyes? He shows many similarities to grabovski. He likes to carry the puck which is okay because he doesnt do it all the time. I could see him scoreing 30-40 goals and 70-80 points later down. I know. I watch London. Its not even an arguement

  • I don't think many people realize how strong schroeder really is, he is not easy to knock off the puck. People all look at the Canada US game and automaticaly associate him with that.I know many people compare him to Pat Kane, but he is basically a less skilled but stronger version of Kane. Also, his release and shot is as good as anyone in the draft, if he shoots more he can score a ton of goals.

  • this guy has huge talent nice pick.

  • What was Luongo saying in French in the beginning?

  • Congrats to Pitts on the cup was one thing, and prob. thanks to Montreal for the hospitality

  • He was thanking Montreal for their hospitality and congratulating Pittsburg for winning the cup

  • Lol, Luongo misprounounced his name when they chose Schroeder.

    Schroeder was a great choice!

I sorta feel bad for Kane, maybe the Islanders will be better with them.

  • I shook my head when I saw that prick Bettman standing on stage at the draft slapping various GM's on the back like they were old friends. A cocky, short little man with that annoying accent.

  • wooo

    my top 3 fav prospects:

    Cory Hodgson

    Jannik Hansen

    and now Jordan Schroeder

  • Cory Schneider or Cody Hodgson lol?

  • This is a great pick. Patrick Kane is the same height as him and he doesn't seem to have any problems.

  • YEAH Schroeder is an awesome player!!!

  • Really liking this pick. This guy's a steal at #22

  • Since the biggest knock on him is his size, I'm hoping he turns out to be another case of Zach Parise....talent that has signifcantly dropped in the draft due to size however still manages to transfer his dominant game to the NHL level and shut up doubters. Welcome to Vancouver, Jordan Schroeder!

  • so happy with the pick!

  • YES, who I wanted.

  • I love Mike Gillis.

    Cody Hodgson

    Jordan Schroeder

    Corey Schneider

    Top 3 prospects.

  • grabner yarrr

  • Um Cory Schneider was a Nonis pick....not Gillis.

  • I know. If you noticed, I said at the bottom of that they are our top 3 prospects.

  • I can't wait to see him and Hodgson to play together. Maybe a great 3rd line?

  • Not next season.

Schroeder will be in college for at least the next two seasons probably. Maybe less.

  • Ah, Okay. My bad.

  • sort of hard when they are both centers

  • So stoked

  • W/OOOOO

  • Steal Baby

Can't wait for him and Hodgson to play together :D

  • god damn, who agrees with me that this team is going to be carry 3 dominant lines in 2-3 years when hodgson and shroeder get comfy for the nhl, kesler hodgson and shroeder down the middle, that is scary...

  • i honestly think this was a steal of the draft for the canucks. size is overrated. hockey iq, a good wrist shot and speed are very important.

  • i agree too but anyways it was still a great pick for the canucks! one of the best!

  • I'm stoked.

  • i agree, we stole hodgson at 10 last year and schroeder was ranked the #5 N/A skater by nhl central scouting and he dropped to 22??!?

    awesome

  • applause for luongo. WIN

  • STEAL OF THE DRAFT

  • great pick

    smart choices by Gillis

along with Hodgson we've got two great up and coming centres.

    hope we extend Lui.
